  1. Thanks Dave! I'm always down for some spring smallies so hopefully my new truck doesn't decide to explode while merging onto the QEW! Looks like you had a good September too! Great post!
  2. I am going trophy hunting on Quinte this weekend, and after walleye closes on Quinte I'll be counting down the days until bass opener. I got these on my last 3 days of bass fishing last year, 2 in 1 day. We'll be on this lake for a week starting on opener. Sept. 3rd 5lbs 4oz Sept. 3rd 5lbs 2oz Sept. 5th 5lbs 10oz
  3. Lots of talk of home heating and wood vs other methods on the board recently. Came across this video this morning and thought some might appreciate it.
  4. Last year we drove up to Nipissing and ended up staying overnight on the ice, my buddy in his portable hut and me in the back of my old Blazer. I don't remember what we ate the night before but am I ever glad my buddy had the forethought to bring along some grocery bags and TP. We must have taken 2 or 3 turns each in the hut with a pail and bag. We ended up collapsing the hut and towing it to a new spot just to air it out.
  5. The site looks great, but for me personally, I won't order from any website that does not have a telephone number on the contact page.
  6. Are you serious? You've said a lot of stupid things in the last couple weeks but this takes the cake.
  7. Great report. Looking forward to getting into the back country this winter. BTW, it was pretty fun trying to figure out which lake you were on, but I think you might have made it a bit too easy
  8. I was browsing through the Jann's Netcraft catalog lastnight and noticed the Garbag.Something you guys might be interested in.
  9. I think the slang term "butthurt" and it's definition accurately describe the locking of that thread butthurt (comparative more butthurt, superlative most butthurt) (slang) Overly annoyed, bothered or bugged because of a perceived insult; aimlessly offended; having an overly sensitive ego.
  10. It sounds like whatever facility stores user's theme/skin choice (cookie?, database?) needs to be reset if you tried using the old Club skin before TJ removed it.
  11. Have you taken the Hunter Education course? I think it's a prerequisite for obtaining a hunting card.
  12. it's no surprise that a musky zealot would want to add "internet conservation officer" to his title
  13. Yes, the TractionControl/Stabilitrak is a function of the BCM, and therefore not modifiable by EFILive and other tuning software.
  14. It's an absolute hindrance when you want to get moving, because if your wheels are slipping, it's applying the breaks. As long as you're not stopping/starting frequently, trying to rock free, or trying to do doughnuts, you're good. Unfortunately with the GM trucks, even with the 10-second press, you can't fully disable it unless you're in 4WD.
  15. Wrong! Traction Control on GM trucks/suvs/vans applies the breaks to the slipping wheel(s) to slow them down and allow them to grip. source: 2009 silverado owner
  16. Man, if there was ever a place to go bow fishing it'd be Hamilton Harbour. It sure could use a thinning of the herd. Just take a ride down the north shore in mid-July and watch them wallow around in the weed beds. Don't bother bringing a rod because anything worth catching stays well clear of the spawning carp. If you're looking for somewhere to dump them which won't interfere with proper fisherpeople or boats 1. Around the mouth of the Desjardins Canal 2. Anywhere around Valley Inn (could use the fertilizer, it looks pretty barren down there) 3. The banks along Eastport Dr.
  17. Exactly! Most of the "invasive" SMB found north/west of North Bay were put there by these guys
  18. It can happen to anyone. I got my old ZR2 Blazer stuck. It had 4x4, locking diff, 33" tires, 16" ground clearance. I was on a trail I had just been on a week before. It was spring, and someone with much bigger tires had gone through the trail and just ripped it up, leaving 2' deep ruts. Well, I saw them and tried to ride outside of them but on a turn I got sucked into the ruts, and was sitting on front and rear differentials. I had absolutely nothing with me, it was late on a Sunday, and who woulda thought that there aren't any off-road towing companies in the golden horseshoe? Luckily this trail is just on the outskirts of the city and I was only 500m off a main road. I eventually called my mechanic, who came out the next day while I was at work and got it unstuck and back to the garage and cleaned up. Luckily the only thing that needed replacing was a mud covered serpentine belt! With that said, these are the things that I will never go off-road without. 1. 60" Hi-Lift jack and base (can be used for lifting or pulling) 2. 10,000lb tow strap 3. Receiver/Shackle combo + extra shackles 4. 100' / 8000lb Synthetic Winch cable 5. 20,000lb snatch block 6. shovel
  19. Taken from the regs Also, it'd be advisable to check with whatever city/town/county regarding their shooting regs.
  20. Nice fish, but why do you continuously spam this board. Was it nessecary to bold the name of the brand you're sponsored by? http://w.xzonelures.com/?page_id=294 I'm surprised you didn't link it right to your store.
  21. Doesn't matter where you are in Hamilton, there are idiots everywhere. Taken from the most recent Police Blotter... Upper James St. near the westbound Linc on ramp Sept. 15: Police were called to Celebrity Billiards for a fight at 1:30 a.m. Several people outside were injured. No one would speak to police. The investigation is ongoing.
  22. I'm talking solely insurance here. The police officer didn't lay charges, and even if he did, it wouldn't really matter. Your insurance company determines fault based on the Fault Determination Rules (The PDF I linked). You would have had to go to the Collision Reporting Center and make your report, and your insurance company will use your report and the other drivers report to determine who is at fault. If one or both of you is being dishonest, or fault can't be determined for some other reason, you'll both be held 50% (or some other percentage) at fault. It doesn't matter if you're 1% or 99% at fault, you will mostly likely have to pay deductible and your rates will go up. If he's determined at fault, your deductible should be waived. I've been through it once before where the other driver was dishonest and the insurance companies made us both 50%. Unfortunately there's nothing you can do about it unless you have a good case and want to take the other driver to civil court.
  23. The good thing is, charges weren't pressed and a police officer can't determine fault (for insurance purposes). Familiarize yourself with the fault determination rules which are set by the goverment. http://www.ibc.ca/en...ation-rules.pdf
  24. I looked seriously at the Undercover Flex for my '09 Silverado, until I saw this. I'll probably be going with the BAKFlip F1
