  1. most stores around will carry the rods. im in hamilton, and i know fishing world, bills bait and grimsby tackle all carry the r type and TS2 rods. rapala also has a new line coming out too that they seem very high on. still waiting to get a peek at them.
  2. heard nuthin but good things about them. i know a guy on the rapala prostaff, and he is in the process of selling all his other rods and reels, (st croix, shimano, quantum) and using only the rapala rods.
  3. i sent u a PM man, PM me back with a number and we will try and hook up for a few casts!
  4. his mother wont allow him to be buried, shes scared people with destroy the grave site or dig him up and steal his corpse. personally, i dont care...
  5. hey bud, the upper river will be ur best bet to fish. give ya smallies, largies, pike, muskie, walleye and anythin else could come by and grab a hook. as far as stores go, theres fishin niagara in fort erie, rite on the river, peters tackle in st catharines, fishmasters bait and tackle in dunnville, grimsby tackle in grimsby, fishing world in hamilton, bills bait and tackle in hamilton. look up any of those stores and they all carry a good selection of stuff, fishing world and grimsby will have a larger selection of equipment though. depending on where ur coming from, u could swing by any of them, and they will all be able to give u information on the areas u wanna fish and what baits are working.
  6. i have 2 citica's and they are great reels for the price. im not a fan of shimano at all, but i needed a new reel and the price was rite so i grabbed one this spring. a week and a half later, i picked up another one. having said that, the revo's from abu garcia are great reels too, i picked up a revo premier off ebay for a ridiculously good price, and about 2 weeks later picked up the revo S. u cant go wrong with the revo S or the citica. go mount them both on the rod u have, and see which one feels better to u and go with that one. eithyer way, u wont be disappointed my friend
  7. yea, they work great on a dropshot. or on a football head jig and drag them like u would a tube.
  8. ive caught bass there on spinnerbaits, senkos, crankbaits, buzzbaits, poppers, rattle traps. just gotta put the leg work in. theres a lot of pressure there and a lot of traffic. but the fishing is great. we had a 4 hour club tourney last nite down there. lots of 2lb fish caught, but the highlights were a 4lb 3oz largie and a 5lb 7oz largie. and believe it or not, that was caught on a small popper.
  9. looks great guys! cant wait to have a little free time to come out and see it.
  10. the harbour is a fantastic fishery! as said, carp and sheepshead, and some big ones at that, reside there. biggest carp i seen pulled out was 58lbs! and i caught a sheepie that was 12.4lbs. both large and smallmouth call it home. ive seen 5lb largies come out, and my biggest was 3.8lbs, biggest smallie was 3lbs. perch, crappie, rockbass, bluegill. bullheads and channel cats. also depending on time of year, chinook salmon, brown and rainbow trout. some big pike in there, lots of smaller ones too, but there are some giants there, seen a 17lb pike caught through the ice 2 years ago, and i was bitten off by one that was easily over 20lbs about 2 feet in front of me. i live 10 minutes from it, i fish that area more in a week then most other places in a month, spinnerbaits for bass and pike, also rat L traps, and crankbaits for bass, senkos as well. minnows or small jigs and micro tubes for the panfish, carp take corn a lot, catfish hit worms, usually as soon as it hits the water, sheepies will hit anythin at anytime. tons of shore access all around the harbour. get out and have fun!
  11. st croix mojo 7' heavy slop & frog rod. designed for throwing frogs, will also work for a jig rod. has plenty of back bone. go with 30-50 lb braid. i use spiderwire, never let me down, i find PP is a weaker line and digs in more on the spool. then get urself a shimano citica E. rod is $100, reel will run ya $150 as far as jerkbats, u need to scale down, i use a 6'6" meduim power, fast action baitcasting rod. spinning works too.
  12. Its not easy to have EI pay for any course.they are picky and stubborn. There is a school by ottawa that is very good but costly and not many options for assistance. That being said, u have to be good at it to have a job my company goes through many "operators" a year. Work is not easy to get either most require being in the union which isn't easy to get in and then u have to wait behind the rest of them for jobs. Good luck to u though, heavy equipment is fun! Lol brings ya back to ur days playin with tonka trucks in the sand box lol
  13. only way to know forsure is go and take a look for urself. lots of construction and developments, as well as industrial aspects, have taken its toll on a lot of rivers and streams. good luck on ur search!
  14. i can tell u first hand that fishmaster will provide u with a great day on the water and put u on fish! multiple boats is not an issue, he can arrange that and make sure u have a great day on the water!
  15. LOL! yea, the wife would have my head on a platter if i went and spent a bunch MORE on tackle lol. but, didnt see waynes m,essage till just now, and i had a round of golf this morning, and now my kids bday party lol. so sadly, i did not go. im gonna shoot across next weekend. hope ya had fun wayne, and bring me back somethin nice!!
  16. thery will feed all day and nite long. afternoon has been good for them lately. as the water warms a bit more, they will start getting more active.
  17. thanks guys, was hoping to find a big place like dicks or gander mtn, but none are close to that area, dude's lol. oh well, walmart it is, at least i can get it! and should make the gf happy, no big fishing store to spend money in lol.
  18. dont have a license from last year, first time ever gettin an amercan license. but thanks
  19. im stayin at the great wolf lodge next weekend, and my tourney season starts the following weekend out opf buffalo. so i need to get my license and figured while im in the falls ill run across and get it. my question is, where is the closest place i can get it when i go across the boarder? wanna try and make the trip short and sweet. thanks
  20. why not attatch the line counter to the spinning rod and keep track of the backing and fire line as u put them on the reel. would save a lot of time switching between reels and reeling it off one reel to another, would it not?
  21. some good fishing can be had there. same with valens. pretty much all the conservation areas around hamilton suppiort healthy populations of fish and even some trophies!
  22. thanks for the invite lol. i like catching fish too ya know! good job on the kittys, see ya tomorrow bud!
