  4. yea, u will end that issue with braid, i would however go with spiderwire. couple bucks more, but a far better braid. i have used both and found spiderwire to be stronger and more smooth to use, and the green dye comes off the PP the first time it gets wet.
  5. i have met a couple of the rapala prostaff, and one i fished with in a couple tourneys, and he is actually VERY high on these rods, infact all of rapalas new rods and reels have him excited. in fact i was just informed by a mutual friend that he is selling all his other gear and goin with rapala exclusively. and i mean selling top end quantum, shimano and st. croix rods and reels. thats gotta say somethin.
  6. lol thanks guys! i dunno if u can just vote once, or if u can only vote once a day, but check back and see if u can put more votes, everyone helps!

  9. If he owns the property, then u can fish for them and keep them if u choose legally. my buddy has a pond on his property with bass, crappie, walleye, perch... and we go and fish it early in the season for bass. also had a boss with 2 stocked ponds with largies and we fished for them as soon as the ice was off the pond, his only rule was catch and release which was fine with us to be able to catch 3+ lb largies all spring and into summer before the opened.
  10. lol, he is a pussy!! he acts tough, tell me one time when he has dropped the gloves with ANY heavy weight in the league!! rite, he hasnt, when he does fight, he will fight someone whos not a fighter, but as soon as someone comes along that can fight he runs away and hides. hes got no respect for the game and if someone does deserve to have his ass pummelled its him!
  11. ahh dude... u made me spill my coffee on myself!!!!!
  12. Fish the typical spots, rocks, weeds, humps. Vary depth and presentation. Light doesn't play as big a role in winter as ice and snow cover limit light penetration. Live bait is always good to have on hand.
  13. i thought that picture looked familliar! lol, congrats! weren't u on fishin canada too fishing with pete bowman?
  14. it can really go either way, u could get a vehicle and have the warrenty and never use it, or u may need it if somethin big happens. and same goes for gettin a vehicle and not gettin the warrenty, u may never need it and think hey, i saved a ton by not gettin it, but think if somethin does go wrong, and u gotta shell out 3 or 4 grand in repairs, u'll be sayin damn, i should have got the warrenty. i personally am glad i got it, i bought a 2002 dodge dakota, and had some minor issues and a couple bigger problems that the warrenty saved my behind on. like when they had to rebuild the transmission!
  15. my buddy has the rapala knife ur lookin at, hes a charter guy, and he puts it to use to say the least. knife works great, and once u get used to it, u can clean a lot of fish in a little time. u wont be disappointed if u buy that knife.
  16. good for the price. rod i have no opinion on. it'll get the job done. but the reel, its not nearly the top of the line, but as far as cheaper reels go, this one is made well and performs well. but really, if u wanna get the most outta the reel, spend some more and buy a good quality reel. big difference in performance.
  17. Depending how old ur child is would dictate the size and type of reel. I got my 5 year old a daiwa 5'UL combo he loves due to the small size and its like daddys. Lol. But as far as "kids" go there's not a wide selection other then the cheap spongebob spincast ones. Quantum does make a line of spinning and baitcast rods and reels designed for kids. Fishmasters in dunnville carries them. They are nice rods for a good price. They call them the advanced youth system. Take a look at those.
  18. dave prolly gonna head to bayfront tomorrow, u wanna come down
  19. check the website. they make a large variety of crank and jerkbaits. big in the musky baits world.
  20. check the regs for the area u wanna fish, and try some frozen smelts. u can usually get a big bag for less then 10 bucks at sobeys. also fishing world sells large suckers for bait as well, u can buy them live and use them or kill them before u use them. i might head to the hamilton harbour tomororw and try my luck out. if ur around there keep ur eyes open, ill have a black float suit on.
  21. i don;t even wanna think about how much i spend... and since i fish year round, there is no down time to sit and think about it. lol, i;m always out buying things... in the past week alone i;ve spent.... about $400, with more to come as i;m planning on gettin an ice hut soon, so theres another 500, plus heater, sonar, and a GPS unit i have my eye on... oh dear... my wife is goin to kill me. lets not get started on open water gear since i have channel cats, then walleye, pike and then bass and muskie season to worry about.
  22. simply put canadian tire is a great store with the amount of things u CAN get there, but they are the absolute worst company of having items in stock. several times i have been disappointed with them not having items on sale. they have a bad habit of allowing their employees purchase sale items before the general public gets a chance and then they have no stock left. the rainchecks are great, WHEN its worth it and they actually get the product in quickly. and for anyone curious, no store in hamilton, stoney creek or burlington has any of the ice sleds left in stock.
  23. until the leafs get rid of that waste of space called vesa toskola, they'll be destined for disappointment and failure. fortunatly, all us leafs fans... happen to be seasons vetrans in THAT department!
