  1. well, when he got gerber they told him to stay put because they were tryin to deal him away. but, they did need someone to fill the void once toskola was shut down for the year. part that kills me... hes played all year apparently not at 100% and has been garbage. then, he gets called out, starts to play a bit better while still losing games due to him poor positioning and rebound control. then the teams steps up his play, they win a few, then, after 4 wins, they lose, he gets shelled for over 50 shots, and while he blew it on the last goal, still played a good game... then its... oh, im hurt and having surgery. somethin seems off there
  2. as said, the best thing to happen has... toskola is out for the year. well, best thing would have been to trade him for a shiny new puck or stick, but no one wanted to over pay for him. gerber, IF he gets his head in the game, can be a good goalie, but still too old to do much good. should have pogge in, joesph back up and gerber in the minors. i would have given moore the money he wants, because without him the leafs would have been in a far worse position this season. he was their most consistant player all year. they better make some moves in the offseason and bring in some talent if they expect to do anythin
  3. what would u like to do to feel young today id like to relive the 80s on second thought, ill just stick to my diet pepsi. lol
  4. yea, we've had only a handful of good draft picks since 1984. clark and schenn. are the most notable, then u can add antropov, kaberle who was a surprise after being picked so late, ian white. our draft history hasnt been too good. so, id rather have gotten players back over picks. pick MAY give u a great player... or u could get an alexandre daigle and have nothin. bottom line, ur draft picks are usually 2 or 3 years away from NHL games. we could have done better today
  5. i agree, not happy with the moves and i would pay the 200 bucks to get an ice level ticket at the ACC to watch mcguire take a puck to the head. but, im an antropov fan, and a really like moore and im not happy to see them go. with antropov they lose their most talented offensive player and someone who kills penalties very well for them, and moore they lose their most consistant player. i really hope they make use of those draft picks. toskola i wish anyone would take him for a bag of pucks cause we'd be better off with one of those old street hockey goalies ya hang off the net and shoot for the holes. gerber is useless and im not happy with that pick up. lets hope the new colors kick him in the ass and he plays well. although best thing would be to toss him to the AHL start pogge the rest of the year with joesph as his backup.
  6. lol too many guys... but i love the fact that this "expert" panel is made up of an ex GM, ex coaches, ex players who had no talent when they played... and pierre mcguire whom annoys the hell out of all of us... is it any wonder why most of these guys all have EX before their title?!?
  7. well, the biggest and best move of the day.... vesa toskala on IR done for the season! otherwise, a boring day and as a leafs fan, im a little disappointed that we lost 2 of our top players and got nuthin to help us back, and picked up a goalie who has been useless. your thoughts? not just on the leafs, but league wide. some big names moved, and some teams really improved themselves. rangers and flames would prolly be the top winners this year
  8. no line is gonna be totally invisible, different colors for different water colors will work better or be more invisible. but its perfectly fine to tie directly to ur lure. lines work the same way as gear... everyone has a preference on brands. i have used 3 types of braid, and ive found spiderwire to be the best, the next guy might prefer power pro, or fireline, or somethin different. but, spiderwire and fireline have made invisible braids. not being fond of fireline and its properties, i use spiderwire, and love it. i always tie directly to my lure with the braid. only when draggin a tube, jiggin a spoon, texas rigged worms... more finesse tactics, will i tie on a flouro leader. just make sure u use the rite rods and actions. with braid having no stretch, having a soft rod tip will prevent hooks from being pulled from the fishes mouth
  9. im gonna try out the tuff line this season, talked to a guy i know who owns a store and he uses it and loves it. and its cheaper then the other options.
  10. not overly necessary. flouro is more important in clear water, the more stained the water, the less need for a flouro leader. also good for abrasion resistance but again, if ur just fishing weeds its not needed. if ur that concerned, try out spiderwire invisi-braid. all the benefits of braid, but with excellent translucency under water to make it almost invisible.
  11. spiderwire, far better then power pro or fireline. ive used them all and spiderwire has been the best, more strands, rounder. make sure u use a mono backing on ur reel, otherwise, u can tie the line through one of the holes drilled into the spool, this will prevent any line slipping as well.
  12. just keep ur thumb on the spool and as soon as u see the line start to go, stop it, and u can pull it out easy, ive never once had a problem with braid, i just keep it in free spool and slowly pull it off the reel till it gets tight, then i just look for the loop causing the problem pull it out, pull off the line and then reel in the slack. gets easy once u do it a couple times, important part is knowing how to pay attention to the spool to stop the backlash before it starts
  13. i have a couple of the C3 baitcasters, 6601 and 5501 i use for pike/muskie and catfishing. great reels very strong and can handle the big fish with ease. never tried the low profile casters, was lookin at the blackmax when CT had it on sale, but just looked to cheap for my liking, i buy top end quantum gear and cheaping out didnt seem rite to me. i wouldnt mind picking up a Revo and tryin one of them out though.
  14. been around for a while now. has a blinking red light in them to imitate and "blood" trail to trigger strikes. do they really work..?? no clue, if they have a good swimming action, i assume they would catch fish, may be just a gimmick though. who knows. who cares lol
  15. pretty much every bait will catch fish as long as u put the time and effort into fishing it properly. but i think his question was more along the lines of "how do i know if this bait catches bass or walleye" for example. and really, most baits are versitile in catching different species. u just have to have a little knowledge of what the fish u target is foraging on, and try to match that. however, sometimes goin rite off the grid and tossing somethin totally different and "odd" might be the best way to catch them. always try new things, its a forever changing environment, and u can learn somethin new each trip out. be creative and u may surprise urself. like, everyone knows to throw tubes for smallies... its a bait made for them. but, how many of u ever tried throwing them for pike or walleye?? give it a try...

  17. im not allowed to eat pike... my gf thinks theyre pretty lol
  18. no, the pike was not live. they were pike steaks. it was fortinos, and i only seen them once, someone mentioned american eel, i did one time see they had a tank with american eel for sale, very small ones though, wanted to buy one for my fish tank lol.
  19. kelly jordan started out good today, but just didnt get the big bites he needed, however, my pick was gary klein and well, he didnt come close lol.
  20. ive seen walleye and pike at fortonos. only once did u see the pike there, but walleye is always there... however, 12.99 per lb is too rich for me when i can catch it for free. but never in my life have i seen bass, what were they in the tank with?? may have been mistakenly put in there, but either way call the MNR and let them know and show them the pictures.
  21. thats awesome bro, congrats! another thing to prepare for... the day she outfishes u with that little pink rod! lol... oh, and boys one day too. lol. congrats man, enjoy every minute with her!
  22. oh sure, the guy with his own show has to show us up! lol
  23. may want to go with organic baits as well. live frozen minnows for example, this may help some people when the read that no live bait is allowed, but they can still use dead or frozen baits, and will also help explain where no organic bait is allowed.
