  1. no, he whines and cries way too much...
  2. yes, for the most part... they were skin mounts. not sure how long replicas have been goin on for, advanced taxidermy ha been doin them for about 25 years i think.
  3. yes, but they have an explanation someplace on the site of what it all means. when most companies just rate a rod medium, med/hvy... moderate, fast, xtra fast etc. loomis uses a number system. if u cant find it on the site, PM JP derose and ask him. he will tell ya exactly what u need to know if ya tell him what ur looking for.
  4. it was a 7' medium quantum tour edition rod, with a quantum kinetic 20PTi with 8lb flouro for drop shotting and a 7' med/hvy st croix mojo with a quantum energy E761PT reel with 30lb spiderwire for spinnerbaits. but switching to a new rod supplier this year, waiting for my first shipment. they are all spinning rods in this order, all custom made. they'll get their first workout in april on the detroit river for walleye. the next order will be some casting rods... flippin stick, jerkbait rod and crankbait rod.
  5. the catalyst would do just fine for flippin and pitchin.
  6. thanks for meeting with us dave! ur a great guy, was a pleasure talkin to ya! sorry bout tryin to walk off with the stratic/cumulus combo... but really, can ya blame me?? lol
  7. shimano makes a suit that u can get between 120-150 depending on how hard u look. its a greyish/blue color. very lightweight and comfortable. pants and jackets. i own one and love it. blocks the wind quite well, and keeps u dry.
  8. should've bought a quantum... lol good combo. great all around set up. will do many things for u! little light for some techniques. as mentioned, next thing should be a med/hvy baitcasting combo that will cover the rest of ur fishing. and handle the pike much better then a spinning rod. keep ur eyes open in the classifieds, always see stuff in there! save urself a few bucks and get a really good combo for less then retail. i will have a bunch of rods goin up soon, spinning and casting, as well as a few reels. get ahold of me if ur interested and ill see if i can help ya out! as someone said, the line u pick will be critical. i would put 15-20lb braid on that outfit. i use spiderwire stealth and love it. some guys like power pro, or stren, suffix, fireline. any will work, pick what U like best. they all have their own qualities. i use spiderwire because im confident in its performance, i used power pro, broke it off a couple times, hate the stuff. other guys swear by it. but 15-20lb will be ideal. i would suggest 15lb as it'll get ya a bit more on the spool and its still very strong, and will allow farther casts. then use a flouro carbon leader of 6-12lb test depending on the species ur after and the technique ur using. if u can get a spare spool, i would go with straight flourocarbon in 8 or 10lb. good luck, hope this and the rest of the info u've gotten helps u out! and if ur ever in the hamilton area, PM me and we'll hook up for some fishes! i'll let ya use the casting gear and see how ya like it.
  9. i was there today with my girlfriend and my buddy. tough day fishing forsure! had the camera down, only seen 2 perch all day, many smelt. then we tried the marina, seen some bluegills, crappie, perch and largies. no takers though. walked away with a handful of lures steve tossed out, and got 3rd big walleye [rize for the fish i couldnt catch!! lol. i managed to win the draw for the prize, so i got my moneys worth for the day! lol
  10. hooked up with 2 good largies this year but shook them both before gettin them to the hole. seen lots on the camera.
  11. hockey is all im lookin forward too. the rest i can do with out, rather boring. its 2 weeks of nuthin on tv but olympics. only thing i can say, is that they are all there for their countries... not a number on a pay cheque.
  12. KVD, greg hackney, mike iaconelli, boyd duckett. conditions are not gonna be pleasant for them there. supposed to be cold. whoever can adjust and find the bite will be the one to win. KVD is simply amazing and finds ways to win events. he is always a threat. he had a 9oz lead goin into the final day of the 2007 classic on lay lake and lost to boyd duckett. boyd duckett is in his home lake, won the classic in '07 there. he may have a little better knowledge then some guys, but with the winter they had everyone is gonna be tryin to find fish. mike iaconelli is a finesse master. if he can find the fish in the cold conditions, he should get them to bite. greg hackney has been hot. he won the FLW championship and was up there in some other events. he likes the jig, and will be a threat if he finds some fish. he should get some big bites and contend as well.
  13. me and the wifey will be there. my bud and his gf will be there too!
  14. i might miss the GTG! im prolly goin out there on sunday!
  15. the st croix mojo is a great rod. and cheaper then u wanna spend anyways!
  16. lol yup! had a 3-01 lead with 3 minutes left... lost 4-3!! cant really fault gustavsson for that. the defence kinda left him out to dry there.
