Well that was absolutely hilarious!

An Indy trail 500 is a very easy-to-find reliable sled. Indy 440's are great machines as well but typically they're a few years older and not quite as common. They both have respectable power while remaining pretty light (fan cooled machines). The only Tundra's you will find for under 2 grand will be the 250's which are great for what they are, but not for riding two-up and hauling a shack. An MXZ 550f or Formula 503 would do the trick but these are short track chassis not fit for offtrail use (really fun machines though). My buddy just picked up a 94 Skandic 503 and it would be ideal for what youre looking for, but they are fairly rare machines, and hold their value well. Bearcat 440's are another good choice.

That boy is still growing like a weed! Great stuff, I can't wait to be in your position!

That's a great idea. I will definitely try that!

Got out on Sunday for my final day of trout fishing for the 2015 softwater season. Like the rest of the month, the weather was absolutely gorgeous, and the water was still 63-65 degrees on the surface. The upwind side of the lake had notably colder water and was holding the vast majority of the trout not surprisingly. Fish were still glued to the bottom in 50-65 FOW and we picked off 4 good trout to fill our limits on flutter spoons behind 3,oz bouncers trolled slowly. It was a nice way to cap things off, even though I still do a fair amount of splake and rainbow fishing well into the fall. Here's some photos...cheers

Is Domtar hiring? I work in the wasterwater treatment division of a pulp/paper mill and its a great work environment.

Don't you have a ducks to kill this fall before the snow flies? I've gotta overhaul the back end of the safari (new track, shocks and slides) over the fall then ill be ready

Sounds like you did very well! mid-September can be a very tough go for walleyes but you came through alright!

Anyone planning to fish downstream from Montreal?

The water in the St. Lawerence at that point has already had plenty of time to pick up all sorts of lovely things from Superior all the way down. -
Definitely not splake...Also, the regs regarding auroras (aka stocked color variations of brook trout!) are outrageously stupid.

Great job! Stocking lists and what the ministry actually puts into those little lakes are two very different things sometimes. It wouldn't surprise me if they were already well aware

Yep they're the most finnicky of all the trouts. Go-getters are usually my no. 1 presentation for them too. You did very well! Oh and Chester chicken is what dreams are made of :drools:

This plus any boat with less than 10hp outboard does not need to be registered . You only need to worry about your trailer being registered

No other place like it in the country by the looks it! Never spent any time there myself

That's usually an issue for me as well. My day trips are early mornings, no cell reception and very likely I wont see a soul as soon I get off the paved road. Not for everyone I guess. I end up going solo fairly often, much to the girlfriends dismay haha

That's all I do:) I'd rather put more time and effort (and fuel) into getting to a remote spot for a few productive hours than pounding it out on pressured fish any day
-
Looks like a super fun trip...and that white bass is huge!

Surprised it took this long. Better late than never! Hopefully they will serve as an example for other municipalities

Been trying to force myself to take more pictures of my backlake escapades. No photographers in my group of buddies so bear with my cellphone pics. Spent the day on a back lake about 65 kms from town on the Kip river watershed on Monday. We ended up going in baitless which is never a good idea this time of year but we made it work and ended up locating some active fish. I was still sort of expecting fish to be spread out in their summer haunts, but this was definitely not the case as almost every fish we caught (and even marked) were in one exact spot. Not surprisingly, this was the mouth of the main inflow into the lake...33-37 FOW. I should've snapped a picture of the graph because they were stacked up like nothing I've ever seen before. I know we would've boated far more fish with worms or leeches, but we still boated somewhere between 15-20 walleyes using split tail minnows (Gulp and Impulse minnows mostly), and we missed both the dusk and dawn bites so I'm happy anyways. Had a few KMs of this to get to our destination lake, even had a brand new beaver dam to contend with... Doubled up on 14"ers... The lone big boy of the trip (20.5") Not bad for a few hours on a brand new lake!

Ah the rapids? (fishing) and some aboriginal teachings?

Oooh that looks like a blast. Easy topwater bassin is tough to beat that close to home! -
Ram recall, anyone else get one? 2012-2014

Too bad they're not offering to buy it back -
Awesome. I can see how that would be addicting...

Oh yeah. Mine is coast-guard approved for a 15, though.
