  1. ^ Beat me to it hahaha
  2. Wow that's an impressive blade. Nice haul of Walters too.
  3. Smallies are good eating fish. A step below walleye or perch, but I definitely like to take home a few smallies whenever I get them.
  4. This sort of thing happens daily in northern communities and no one bats an eye, but since it happened near the GTA it has become a national news story. If I call CTV when I shoot a bear will these idiots come and protest at my house?
  5. Signed. Hope things turn around for you. Just for the record, we enjoyed an excellent ice season on Nipissing last year. It was typical to put up 15-20 walleye days between 2 or 3 guys just about every trip out, just hard to find those mature slot fish these days. The lake is still an absolute walleye factory and I believe it would rebound quite well on its own if the adult fish were given more of a chance to flourish. Sort of tragic that you can catch 14-16" fish till your arms fall off sometimes but for some strange reason they all seem to disappear at 17"....
  6. Yep, bugs are brutal everywhere and the fishing's awesome! Go get em
  7. Cool report. I'm dying to get back out camping now.
  8. Opening them all year would have very minimal effect oj their population, at least in most areas of Ontario where essentially no one fished for them. Walleye, our most coveted fish, are only closed for 6 weeks in most zones yet they shut down bass for 6 freakin months. What a joke!
  9. Just wondering why you would use leadcore for fish that are that shallow? Seems like a pain to run big cumbersome gear like that when you could get away with a 1 oz weight or even a deep diving crankbait and have the same results? Just curious as I never felt the need to run leadcore, even in the summer
  10. Good question. It baffles my mind that they aren't open in the winter and spring during the pre-spawn time (especially in zone 11 where they should be open all year!)
  11. Fantastic! Your boy is starting to look like an expert already on those huge gators
  12. Mine too, hehe. Between these and husky jerks, I'm pretty well set for hardbaits for walleye
  13. That's a sweet little dock setup you've got there!
  14. Between 2-5 degrees lows over the next few days and cool days, should help extend the shallow brookie bite!
  15. BillM doesn't make bad decisions, you haven't figured that out yet...
  16. Awesome pannies. Sometimes I wish we had them up here, but the walleye slays help to remedy the pain lol
  17. Nice report. The shad fishing looks like a blast
  18. Wow old thread. Used to fish the river in sturgeon. I'd bet their spawning run is just about prime in the river right now, and yeah they're absolutely delicious!
  19. It would have to be a pretty small 12 footer to not be able to handle a 9.9 FS. My 12 foot wc-12 has a 15 merc, and hits just shy of 24 mph in ideal conditions, and trolls down to around 1.7-1.8 in flat calm weather. I would definitely opt for the 9.9!
  20. Pike tend to demolish balsa raps...they're hard on the crankbait budget. Nice fish
  21. Love it! great job
  22. Where are the wheelin' pics?
  23. Nice plum crazy duster! Those were always my favourite muscle car when I was a kid.
  24. I can smell it from here
