  1. I guess the idea is that the canning process softens the bones to the point where you no longer notice them. This is all new to me so I'll have to get back to you as to whether or not I can put that into practice or not.
  2. Yeah, I'm not a small engine expert by any means, but the idea of premium fuel causing overheating and voiding your warranty sounds pretty off to me. Would hate having to be stuck using crappy ethanol-rich 87 octane fuel (especially in Canada).
  3. Can't use premium?
  4. Awesome. We have maybe a touch more snow than you right now (got close to a foot Saturday and a little more today) but I'm waiting for a ball joint to come in for my safari. Looks like we're gonna lose it all mid-week anyways!
  5. What is a large bullhead for you? I've never really seen them over 12-13"
  6. One of the best 'comeback' albums of all the 70's hard rock acts. Gillan was on point here.
  7. Ling. Bullheads are barbotte. I would be interested in the pressure canning recipe, would be interested in applying it to herring and suckers. The ling are an absolute delicacy, I have a couple friends that prefer them to walleye and perch.
  8. Saw this last week. Really don't see the advantage.
  9. Less charts more fish!
  10. We're back into burbot season up here now, so Gerrit's beer batter recipe is a staple in this house once they start rolling in. Absolutely heavenly!
  11. I just listened to this album today. Incredible all the way through! Perhaps my favourite Neil record of all time.
  12. That's where id be!
  13. I've had bail springs fail on otherwise high quality well-functioning reels, so I got used to doing it to the point where I now do it reflexively on all my reels.
  14. Very clean machine, but it definitely needs a turbo!
  15. Why not fog a 4stroke? Seems like the heads and pistons would be just as susceptible to corrosion/rust as a 2stroke?
  16. The Titans are probably even worse. That Tundra blew up years ago, my Sierra is substantially worse
  17. That's good mileage. Small, low 2wd trucks driven easy will usually get quite good mileage. My 02 v6 tundra used to get over 20 on the highway.
  18. Well yes, if you have gas in the motor and fuel lines and no fogging oil, it's not winterized.
  19. What he said! ^ You buy NOW!
  20. Crazy deal...but I still wouldn't buy a Jiffy Just kidding (kinda) great score!
  21. Back lakes around here were already skimming over this time last year, and we were drilling thru 5 inches on December 2. Bet were gonna be at least 2 weeks behind this year, 4 days of 8-12 degree highs next week means the boat gets an extra lease on life.
  22. Awesome buck
  23. Just listening to their 2013 album Aftershock for the first time, friggin awesome! Probably their best since Inferno or at least Kiss of Death.
  24. Funny how most people of the 'let nature sort itself out' persuasion live in the city where there are no bear interactions. Yes, we are intruders of their habitat, but its a little late for that level of hippydippy idealism. Should I pack up and go rent a loft on queen st so as to not intrude on the poor bears??
  25. Do you have any facts to back that up or are you just running your mouth because you think bears are cute? Prior to the end of the spring hunt, bear numbers in Ontario were very healthy and the industry was bringing in tens of millions per year. It is easy to identify a bears gender by appearance to anyone familiar with the animal. This hunt would not have been re-opened if scientific data didn't suggest that it was sustainable. Poachers will poach anyway (I know people that shoot bears around here year-round), legal hunters should not be denied the right to a sustainable hunt that will bring in tourist dollars because it upsets non-hunters opinions (not based on fact I might add).
