  1. Great report! You are the laker master dude!

  3. I am a friends with a few people that work at Kirkland Lake Gold, and they have missed 2-3 days work already, and may end up missing as much as 10-14 days due to the fires.
  4. Thanks for the report. I don't think I could ever get bored of fishing LOTW, but I'd love to try
  5. I bought a Rapala Team Issue 7'1" crankin' rod this year and it is excellent. Very light, and have noticed a definite increase in my casting distance from the 6'6" I was using before. If you're casting a lot of light bass cranks, make sure whatever rod you decide to get has a light, moderate action tip so you can load the rod up and still get good distance out of light baits.
  6. I've used most braids on the market, and have found all of them to sink...slowly, but they do eventually sink. I suppose if you're using an active topwater presentation, it may not be noticeable. Using it on float fishing rigs is usually the time I really notice it.
  7. The slight forked tail and all-white spots make me think splake, but their snouts usually aren't so stout. I believe Gbay splake stocking ended a very long time ago, but apparently they will successfully spawn on the odd occassion. I believe it's a splake.
  8. I much prefer mono for topwater baits. Braid does not float, but if you tie on a long enough leader, you should be OK.
  9. Very cool...but I think I'd rather gouge my own eyes out than sit through an entire episode of Outdoor Passion
  10. It was a blast, of course. Between the barrage of fish, banter, and trying to keep the canoe upright, pictures were not in order. Felt great to get the stringer filled up, and tasted even better the next morning. The bugs were a non-issue...I think. I drowned the memories in rye
  11. Perhaps not as outdated as you think. I'm 20 and own a turntable, and have an extensive collection of LP's (many, many milk crates worth), a great deal of which were pressed this side of the millenium. Still the best way to record music, in the sense that it is the most natural recording method (no digital compression). Having said that, what the hell is a 78? 78 RPM?

  13. Cream of the crop when it comes to musky tackle. I am definitely jealous!
  14. I've seen many native lampreys in the headwaters of Lake O. rivers...Do not assume that it was an invasive sea lamprey.
  15. My favourite Beatles cover track <object width="420" height="315"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qamBmWt8Cwo?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param'>http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qamBmWt8Cwo?version=3&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qamBmWt8Cwo?version=3&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="420" height="315" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true"></embed></object>

  19. Gotta love those big coloured males... Are those walleyes great lakes fish? They look washed out like the ones I've caught on Lake O. in the past.
  20. That's about the best surprise catch I could think of. Usually it's the other way around...

  23. ...And the headline on Fox News' website read 'Obama Declares War on Marriage' [since revised]...
  24. White tube and creepers/bad boys jigged right on bottom. Jig slowly, stirring up the bottom and wait for the freight train!
