  1. Yeah, lean it on a railing when your 14-15 stories up, lol! A tripod not only keeps your camera still, it keeps it safe I've got a cheap one from Henrys and it does the job really well.
  2. You need a tripod if you don't already have one.. Set the ISO as low as possible and let the shutter do the work. I also like using the 2 second timer to get rid of any camera shake when pressing the button. Good luck and let us know how it turns out!
  3. I'd probably just vacuum seal it and put it in the freezer. No curing for me.
  4. Depends on your leader and flyline.. The Sharkskin I use has a loop, so that's how I put the leader on... No knot required.. As for tippet to leader I'll use a double surgeons. If I don't have a loop on my flyline, it's a nail knot like Dave mentioned above.
  5. I caught a whitefish on a dry fly once I don't think that will be repeated by me anytime soon, lol.
  6. I love it all.. From the rod in the downrigger springing up, to the float ripping down on a cool fall morning with a big steelhead underneath it to spotting that resident trout and making the perfect presentation so it sips down your dry.. I really don't care, I'll do it all.
  7. It really depends on the type of summer we have.. If it's super hot with a little rain, even the headwaters of some systems will get that hot.. Just something to be aware of A cheap pool thermometer works just fine. Lots of fly guys you'll see will have them on their vests.
  8. Miro, just another heads up if you're planning a lot of resident fishing this summer. Bring a cheap thermometer with you to the river, if the temp is close to 70 degrees or over, the survival rate of any catch and released fish really goes down.. I usually stop fishing if the temps are that high..
  9. That section of highway needs it badly! Money well spent if you ask me.. Plus we'll actually have shoulders not made of vehicle swallowing gravel, lol.
  10. Yup, from Forbes to about 93..
  11. I wouldn't worry about the backup at the split, most of the traffic goes up 11 anyhow (Hopefully you're headed up the 400)
  12. Yup, if you are traveling north on a Friday, make sure you hit the 400NB around 2pm or so.. It really starts to get busy around 3pm.. If it's a long weekend, forget it, lol.
  13. Scotty.
  14. If you're just starting out, you definitely want to fish in the evening after preferably a warm sunny day.. You'll get to the river and see all kinds of bugs coming off (and hopefully fish slurping them up!) Match the hatch (size is more important then exact colour) and give it a shot. Fishing in the afternoon when the sun is high with zero cloud cover isn't easy at all.

Philly hasn't been the same since the Pittsburg series, it's like a completely different team.
  16. I'm not missing the point, I just added in a whole bunch of very obvious sarcasm. I agree that checking your phone while stopped at a stoplight isn't a dangerous act in itself, the issue here is that the law doesn't differentiate between the two.. Until it does people need to just obey the law, it's that simple.
  17. Actually I think we should just fine them after they've killed some innocent family on the highway, that sounds like a much better solution..
  18. Mid june is a month away, it's not even bass opener yet. I'd wait for the Yamaha. In the grand scheme of things, what's an extra month?
  19. You don't see the correlation between stopping these people now BEFORE they have a chance to kill someone because they are too busy txting?

Wow man, you really gotta watch the games a bit closer. Rangers/Cap is now 3-2 in the series.

    Trout fun

Mike, I love that EWA Marine housing, I'm so close to pulling the trigger on one! Great pics man!
  22. Old habits die hard I guess.. I think they see it as food and sustenance and nothing else. There are many ethnic backgrounds that fit this description, at least in my opinion. I've been greased out by all of them, lol!
  23. It's those idiots on phone that will kill your loved ones, not the drug dealers or gun smugglers.
  24. LOL Better call IGFA if you catch a 40in walleye because it will be a world record.
  25. Rig it up on the front of the boat so it's under the boat when deployed. This way you'll still slow down and you'll still be able to steer.
