  1. Depends on the river.. a 10ft float rod is fine for any of the east ditches, you'd be outgunned on a few of the Huron/GBay tribs. Float rods have both reel seats and sliding rings. Doesn't make it any more or less of a float rod
  2. You're not going to find a pike bonanza in any of the southern states... You'd have to go north (Just like up here) to get into some big ones. Bass however won't be an issue.
  3. There's definitely a hole there somewhere, you just gotta find it.
  4. I pulled 3 fish over 40 from that back bay, although it looked A LOT different when we fished it, lol!
  5. Oakvillebassguy needs that 17' for Bronte
  6. Sure it's legal... But you've probably be better off fishing with emeralds then 4-6in smelts for 13in perch. I guess you could always take those un-used smelt you'll have at the end of the day and fry them up at home! So it's a win/win in your case
  7. Live smelts for perch? The smelt in Simcoe are monsters... I doubt the perch are feeding on them with any sort of regularity.. As far as perch are concerned, use exactly what you'd use through the ice.
  8. I get the 'You drove all that way to catch some fish?'
  9. Keep an eye on the weather, lots and lots of rain in the forecast.
  10. I don't even wanna know what level that river is at right now, lol. Rain rain rain!
  11. You're still assuming this guy harvested the fish illegally. The MNR has bigger fish to fry then some guy selling roe on Kijiji, lol.
  12. Mike, make sure to give your float a big SNAP right at the end of the drift, gotta keep any fish in the pool he's fishing on their toes!
  13. Since when is the guy selling roe a poacher? He seems more stupid then anything.
  14. Getting the fish to swim past your presentation and getting the line caught in it's mouth because you're using a super long leader with a bait that floats (marshmellow, earplug, whatever) Although I've seem some fly guys that are pro at it as well, running 8ft leads off their strike indicators fishing in 3ft of water, lol.
  15. There aren't many fish prettier then a tiger musky! Great job guys!
  16. Facebook is serious business.
  17. Anything round will work as a roe imitator.. Hell fish eat beads from Michaels, they'll definitely chow down on a marshmellow or corn. The thing with marshmellows is that they float and are the favourite bait of flossing, hence the bad rap... When I was a kid we'd use them all the time for lakers in the fall down at Port.D.. Sure you'd foul hook a few (Like any other fish in the fall) but more times then not that marshmellow would be halfway down it's throat.
  18. If you saw them, they saw you... That river is so piss low and clear I'm surprised people are actually fishing it. Head on over to some of the bigger rivers in that area, gotta be more fun then sight fishing for chinooks while half their bodies are out of the water.
  19. Time to get a proper rod for that river.
  20. I'll make sure to grease Terry out if I ever see him fishing on the river :) Good job bud! Nice fish as well, especially for your first one! (My first one was a skipper from the 'Geen, about 1/2lb, lol!)
  21. The bass are going to get even bigger now.
  22. Big lake I fished up north was up probably 1.5ft at least.
  23. I thought I saw 29.80 on the scale in the video.
  24. Spiders eat all the other nasty bugs (mosquitos, etc).. I'll happily let them hang around the front door/windows. Now, if I could get some bats in the backyard, even better!
