  1. Wordens lures are awesome, Im sponsored by them infact. I use them all the time and find that they need to be used on very light line and have to be tugged to get them started usually. I find that if I place a saporo barrell swivel on it first it tends to stop the line twist and makes them run better.
  2. Ko-Man-Chi aka DR Spinnerbait, from Montreal and made here. Great lure generating alot of hype as well.
  3. I've been doing this for a while now. Great product but not exactly sure if its legal. I do have a gas licence so maybe its ok for me.
  4. There is something very strange and dsturbing about that comment.
  5. Mikeys suit keeps getting smaller each year Steve. Some nice lakers bud.

  7. I was hoping I would be fishing by myself this year but looks like I wont now. Most didnt figure this out.
  8. I will be calling you in the next few days. I will be coming out there for Steelies sometime in the next 6-7 days for sure.
  9. Just looking for some info from a few places and figured I would post it here. What would your ideal tackle store have in it as regards to Tackle, Rods ,Reels, lures, Displays, anything you can think of just post it here or you could PM me if you want. Thanks
  10. It works great but on the Terrova, however. Search this on youtube, a guy in the US has a module made up to work with all minnkota motors with a foot pedal attached.
  11. If you want a line for all arounfd use then Mono would be the choice. If you want for just for topwater, LC has a hollow core Mono line that the buoyancy is outta this world, The strenght is very good as well. You just have to be carefull when making knots to do so without any heat friction. Toray for mono is the best, not a better mono out there. Sorry, I have tested som many its distugsting. I have been testing the same batch of Toray mono for going on 4 seasons without changing it what so ever. Braid is good for topwater but remember it needs to be on a lighter more forgiving rod with a nice parabolic action as never to pull hooks. Use a somewhat stretchy mono leadwer and your good to go. Floro sucks for topwater because of the sink rate.
  12. If you want to go mono, I would have to go with Toray Bravo. 12lb test. This line will last you a long time.
  13. I will be at the Fishingworld booth. Look for the Guy in Dobyns shirt. If Im not there I will be at Pro J tackle booth.
  14. Yes , but thats when Dinosaurs walked wasnt it.
  15. Can you imagine that video, that ould be hilarious for sure. I just ordered my Talons from Minnkota Brian so I hope they are what they say they are or it will be the Power Pole. We shall see.
  16. Hey bud, Yes I am. Give me a call tomorrow to arrange a day for lakers. 647-709-6278. I will be going up again soon.
  17. I will be fishing it again this year, would not miss it for the world.
  18. Jackie, The Mark 5 and such units are only Downscan imaging only. They wont switsh. If I were you I would go with the HDS-5 as you can add structure scan and the traditional sonar all in the same unit. You can also network the 334 into a nema syatem if you wanted to. Give me a call tonight and I will explain it all to you.
  19. You never cease to amaze me Roy, Now that I have to clean my screen from Coffee I can continue.
  20. Back home its called a "Whipper Snipper" or if you are a true baymen you call it a sickle. Great video Brian, I did that this past fall and Summer. Do it every year. You can take the boy from the Island but never can you get the island from the Boy.
  21. I do the same, fires on the ice, fresh bologna, fish and hot fresh tea and Beans and Newfie Kippers in tinfoil. I cant see a co giving me a problem in the bush for that if your not making trouble. Especially if he is offered some food I do however let the fire burn to just ashes, I dont want some guy hitting that with his boat come spring or sled at night. I'm amazed at how many confronting people that are out there on the ice. I have only had to tame people twice on the ice in my life. One being so dang drunk that he was very funny. The other being more agressive than a 2 peckered Billygoat up north telling me that the Lake was his, he had the rights to it and that all Brookies were put there by him. I'm a very calm guy and told him to be the same, when he wasnt he was to be put into his place. I have made alot of friends up there now and ran into the Dumbass in a local bar again a year later. Invited him out on my boat and we fish together once a year now. Kinda funny I guess, I grew up with this back home as a kid, most people mean well but can cross the line alot of times. This is the reason I only fish rivers by myself or with others willing to go away from the crowds, I cant afford the headaches. To many inconsiderate people there for me. I see it as avoiding a situation by not doing this. They dont win, I just dont need to explain to my kids why Daddy cant come home on the weekends. If ya get my drift. I've had to call the OPP a few times on guys like this in the soft water season, usually cottagers that have had a bad experience with a Bassboat guy or something along the lines. It usually works out good. I have had cottagers invited on my boat and some take me up on the offer. This will help me let them understand that everyone needs to enjoy out greatoutdoors, however with that said violence is never the answer. If you are to be in danger its best to leave or Call the authorities. My no means will a guy try to run me over. Thats when the claws will come out especially if I have my kids. The man that does that will have a fight, I will first try and leave if that does not work, well I will leave that where it is. To be honest by not calling the authorities he wins and you are just as bad as him or her. They will do this to others and maybe resulting in someone getting hurt down the road. Thats why the MNR and Tips number is on the Regs book and other magazines. Use it. Common sense always prevails aslo.
  22. I have alot of ice rods in my hut usually. This is mainly cause I guide people and have to take all the gear along. I have found that one of my sponsors has made it alot easier for me this season with their Ice Glove that protects the rod from getting tangled and damaged. www.therodglove.com I have bought a few St Croix this season and must say that they are a great rod so far. Like others have stated that ice rods tend to get beaten up alot. Thus resulting in damaged rods. One of my Favorites is Thorn Brothers and one Frabill but different strokes for different folks I guess.
  23. Great, that secret is out. Lol.
  24. What would you like to know about it, This will be my second full year running it.
  25. This auger will come to your door pretty quick. I like them so much thta i bought 3 of them now. They are a great little auger and runs way better then my other previous jiffy augers. Ive been running it pretty hard and have not had one issue. The blades are extremely sharp though, like thats a bad thing. lol. This thing cuts so easy you dont even have to push on it, its goes with its own weight. Just remember like anything, use a stabilizer and a cleaner for it and it will start like a dream forever. Im editing a video on using it right now as we speak and will be posting my review soon.
