  1. Exactly what Garry2rs said. Does not matter for reaction baits when using them. They are quick moving baits. I use them on a couple of my jig rods when power fishing and just covering water, when I find them I switch to Floro but only in clear water. Why use the baid at all. Just rig with Floro and leave it at that. If you must use a leader, use the double uni , lube it and let dry for a few seconds and use glue. I always use super glue and I have never had a break off at the knot. When fishing clear water I have combos with just Floro and thats it. Straight Floro is better then relying on a knot. The more breaks in a main line the more chances you have in breaking them off. If you go to a fine wire hook there is not even a need to set the hook like a rockstar either, the fish hook them selves with just a small sweep.
  2. What do ya want to know about them. I have fished both.
  3. I agree with ya B. This is getting silly now. We have meetings with our guys monthly about all this stuff. Oooohh my feelings are being hurt or I dont like that comment or whatever, lighten up Francis. Its no longer a mans world IMO. Its only going to get worse
  4. Three of my most favorite things Roy. Lol. I'm in as well.
  5. Thats a whole lotta worms. did not know you could buy them by the flat. Try Mc Donalds, they might have some extra.
  6. 100lb is great for jigging Cod. I have used the heaviest of floro for them and Flounder and other bottom fish back home. I cant beleive that I forgot to mention that the line size has to match no matter what. If not the knot will fail every time. I laso use a little glue on the joint as well. I have started using Braid with Floro leadrs for ocean fishing now. Workd great. Its something you are doing wrong. I set the hook like a bulldozer and I fish a hell of a lot and the line is holding up. Which knot are you using for the joining of the 2 lines.
  7. Thats what I figured Terry. Just wondering if its safe to do. Looks like I have some re wiring work ahead of me for this weekend. Lol
  8. I'm just now learning how to do screen shots. Once I get this figured out next week I will start to do that maybe. I will try and post stuff on here with the support of the mods of course. I will even start to do the recording of the stuff as well. Lol.
  9. LMAO.. I'm not good with words. I was wondering if this can be done but with a switch for both units. I want one in the front and one in the dash. So does that mean the yellow has to be extended in sequence to the front one as well and if so how do you wire it like that on the same wire. It would work like a 2 way switch which imo would not work. Can I run a double wire from both switches and not back from the main run to keep them seperate. Hope that makes sense. Jeebus now I'm confused
  10. My HDS 10's have 2 slots the one to the right is the plus and the faster and one reccomended for use when using one card and the other is the non plus one.
  11. I'm with ya on the LMX units. However I have started to become pretty good on these and now would not give them up. I even have the Sirrus weather module on them now. Its amazing. Dont give up man they are amazing, the clarity and definition is amazing. Well worth the moula. Go online and order the Don Samson video or the Bennett marine one. You will be a pro on them before you know it.
  12. He stated he has the latest update. Most likely something small. I have had several small issues and when I call Lawren or Mike at Lowrance they fix it over the phone in no time, even while on the water. It will read slow if you put it into the mmsc slot. If you put it into the Plus slot reader it reads super fast
  13. I'm not having that problem. My cards come up instantly even the 3D mode. Give Lowrance a call. They have walked me through a ton of stuff lately and the customer service is amazing. I even had them walk me through some GPS stuff last week while on Rice. I noticed it makes a difference which slot you put them into as well, it should be marked for the faster one.
  14. I have 2 HDS 10 Models on the boat. I need to try and place a switch to turn off the LSS-1 Strusture scan unit. I dont want it on during certain times of fishing. Just wondering if anyone here has it done. I want to hook it up so that it has a switch to both units and the ability to be turned off from front and back. I have the Nema network all ready installed with various stuff. That does not affect this LSS-1 from what I can gather. I have both Units connected with the Ethernet cables into the LSS-1 module. Wondering if this needs to be re done or can it be done this way. Not wanting both units to power on when one is fired up along with the LSS-1. It seems to be draining my batteries while in use more then I want. Hoping for pictures if someone here has it done. Second: I was wondering if I can hook my I Pilot Terrova into my Transducers to read the LSS-1 or the current Transducer on the Trolling motor. When did fishing get so complicated. LOl.
  15. Been a tough bite all year. We did a tourney in Bancroft area on Saturday. Came in 11th with a 1 lb penalty. Weighed in 13.75 minus the 1 pound. Ended up with 12.75. I know that water rally well to. I'm doing Rice this weekend, Back to Back's. Hope it runs better. Quinte is a great fishery and the fish are cooperating there for me so far. Good luck
  16. G Loomis NRX line of rods. Amazing. Cant wait till they are available, Shimano's Curado 50 reel and their new Slatwater gear. IMA baits, Koppers, Ko-Man-Chi Docter Spinnerbaits. Very interesting stuff this year for sure. I'm still reading through all the stuff.
  17. I have been a long time user of Seafoam in everything I own, Truck, Boat, Bike, etc. But I have done of research on this topic and have found a better one and its sold at CT as well. Starbrite (Startron) Much better and will break down enzymes in the fuel for you much better and has more advanced cleaning adjents. Dont run this stuff in every tank as its does build up in the injectors and valves. Usually every 8-10 tanks is best.
  18. I dont beleive its the line. I have 4 Heavy Cover combos with the exact same size and line on them and have not had a problem as of yet. I do my knots every hour usually or in an around there. Any time you have a connection point you will occur breakage no matter what you do. I'm on the water almost 4-5 times a week and actually love this line. Price has nothing to do with it. When fishing heavy cover its always a good thing to re check everything as even lillys will cut your line no matter what you do. This Stren is a manageable casting type floro. What I would suggest is that you buy a high abrasion floro which is different. I fish every type of floro and have yt to find one that covers all areas of fishing and still cast easy. Stren was designed to cast very easy and what it states on the box it has been doing for me. Not every floro is the same. If you ant some floro as leaders. I would suggest buying just that, Leader material. That Floro is different. Much stronger and designed for just that.
  19. Great area to fish for sure. Been fishing there for years. Infact I have a tournament there this weekend. Have a cottage there and by far some of the biggest bass I have seen to date in Canada have come out of that region. Still not that heavily pressured. There are a few Muskie in there but they tend to be lucrative and the Walleye are plentifull there if you know where they hide. Sweet lookin Largie
  20. I use all Daiwa TD-Z 103hl - 105hl reels for flippin. Very smooth.
  21. I have been on boats since I was around 2 years old. I have taken courses and have a Captains licence as well from Commercial fishing. Yet I still got tossed out once on my bass boat. It does happen and it was from a rouge wave that was impossible to see. Not a fun experience. Good to see that JP and his partner got out safe. Shows it can happen to the best of us. Basscats are not known for good slicing through water wakes. By the sounds of it he seemed to handle it very well. Good on him. From what I can understand he had his tether switch attached and thats what stopped the boat quick. This shows what type of character he has as well. To laugh and go fishing for the rest of the day tells me that he has schooled and tamed that boat. LMAO. He is at Icast I would assume and thats why he is not on here. He is about just as big as me and we hit the water like a sack full of sand. Lol.
  22. I for one grew up in a Law Enforcement family so I will leave my personal comments to myself. But I will leave you with a couple of things I noticed growing up. For one most cops will do there job and well , its hard to come and arrest a punk when he/she has more rights then the Cops or people that he/she just commited the crime against. He will be out on the street in a few hours providing he gets arrested at all. This is all thanks to our "Young Offenders Act" Thank you for such a farce Canada. LMAO. Also there are 2 sides to every story, Like any profession Policing is no different. You will have some there for reasons none other than they were picked on in school and they have something to prove. You know them. We all call them the You have thm in any profession. Its easy to find fault in any job or easy to tell one side of the story and not the other. You still have the right in Canada to protect your Family and Property if you feel threatened but not with excessive use of force. But let me tell you. I have had this experience and will not elaborate to much but I for one protected my wife and home once and never took any heat for it at all. Got arrested and all came out in the wash but had to when police showed up because they need to determine who is who. I will continue to do so anywhere I live or travel. Thats just an instinct of us being human. Wether or not you have the common sense to adjust yourself to use proper restraint is up to ones self. Another thing is that people are to dam nosey. Sorry for that but if it does not apply to you mind your business. If you see something going wrong. Call the proper people. Most times thats the best. Just call 2 or 3 detachments. That always works. Someone will come and usually in a timely fashion unless you in the Artic where the Police only bring themselves to trek up there on Christmas. lol. Been there, I know. Also and most important. Here is what I have observed growing up. The lack of respect. A Police officer gets none usually. I'm not sure why. They are no different then any other person. I'm a Construction worker and if I was looked upon by the public as police officers are I would be a little bias at times. Sorry but its true. They are not stupid and can usually tell when you are hiding something. We all can. Gut feelings are the same in any job or profession. Most peoples reaction to a police officer is to get their backs up. No need. Granted there are cops that are as is the same with lots of people. Ive seen them get nasty looks just for going through a drive through or even going inside to grab coffee. For what I dont know. The atmosphere always changes no matter what. Rmember the difference is only a job aspect. No different then any of us. Keep that in mind when you are rude or quick to judge one when he has to come into your home or area because some person who has been arrested numerous times or is known to police or is just coming out the end of a 12-14 hour shift or answering the 30th call that night all with having to deal with attitude by just showing up when it was you that called. It is a tough job.
  23. Bassmagnet sells it as well as other Canadian lure suppliers
