We have stayed at Kirk's Kove many times but not recently......I always did GREAT on walleyes and pretty good on pike......don't fish bass but noticed they were a pain at times and all small back then. There are many fishermen that return there year after year but I never heard or seen one of them come in with a musky. The newer owners is why we left. They really didn't like fishermen, especially when you kept some fish plus the price kept rising with no improvements to our cottage whatsoever. Now since there butterfly and arts and crafts program crashed and burned they are once again I see catering to fishermen.....HUH The old couple that we first starting go there were GREAT........if they still owned it we would still be going there because the walleye fishing was very good without flying in. Bottom line go to Kirk's Kove website and look at pics and "maybe" you can contact some of the regulars that keep going there.

What's your best boat ramp argument or funny story?
Mister G replied to LostAnotherOne's topic in General Discussion
LONG time ago my buddy Bob and his father wanted to go fishing with the rest of us.....since the one boat my friend Dan had wasn't big enough for all of us Bob, his father and I rented a boat......long story short we traveled a long ways to the crappie fishing grounds and by the time we wanted to head back the winds were blowing a LOT....... So to shorten the trip we decided to borrow Dan's car and trailer because he launched MUCH closer to where we were........making the boating trip back to shore less then half. My buddies father known as JP was a older man with a peg leg from birth......so on the way in he knelt in the small 16' rental and used a rain jacket to ward off waves/spray in order to stay dry.......believe it not he stayed 100% dry while we got WET on the way in. So I back down Dan's trailer at the launch we never used and it was quite steep to say the least...... JP decided to just stay in the boat because of his peg leg while we cranked the boat onto the trailer....... Now this is where is got hilarious (now) as Bob held the boat straight for the borrowed trailer and I just kept cranking it to his orders...... Well JP was at the back of the boat with his weight holding down the transom as the bow kept rising up the trailer. Before we knew it water started to POUR into the boat over the transom completely soaking a once dry JP to the knees.......the boat took in so much water that the 3 gallon gas tank and cooler started to float away.........LOL We had to get JP out of the boat and drain it because the car would not pull the boat up the steep ramp with all the extra weight. Every time I think of JP staying dry for over an hour while fighting the waves only to get completely soaked to his knees just makes me laugh even more. I hope JP is laughing as much in heaven as I'm laughing down here. -
You're SCREWED and you know it...........LOL........JK........I hope.

I'm sorry if I'm posting right over your head.........I pointed out you look for racists problems that are not there. BTW isn't calling someone a Trump impersonator racist in your own mind ? ? ?

Well, now that YOU brought it up I would say not only do you lift rocks on any post looking for it but you also rake the sands to make sure everyone is on high alert from you. Again SAD......

If you purchase a extended warranty with the thought of not using it and getting all your money returned it would have been better to place said amount that this product cost into a interest bearing saving account and then if repairs were needed the money was there but if no repairs were needed you have full access to YOUR money plus interest over the years. It's called a win win in my eyes. BTW I never take out a extended warranty for anything. I hope you get your money back ASAP..........

Dutch needs to get control of himself as EVERYTHING ANYONE says that he doesn't like is racist to him and should not be allowed because HE says so..........SAD... Now back to the problem at hand........just like many of us who fish in high priced boats, if we see a fish/game violation we do our best to report the violator to the proper authorities. Time for those bucket shore anglers to do the same, don't you think ! ! !

Back in the day when I had better eye sight and no arthritis in my hands I could fillet 70 crappie per hour with the wife skinning them. Now I would cut my hand off at that pace......LOL Crappies are by far the easiest to clean IMHO because there is no belly meat to worry about and the skin is easy to cut through so the knife stays sharp and requires less sharping compared to filleting leather back Lake Erie perch that dull the knife and has belly meat to contend with. IMHO Crappies are the VERY BEST freshwater fish to eat.........pure white flesh with never a hint of strong fishy taste.

Same here......but talk about a "racket"..........the vendors pay big bucks to display their junk and then the customer pays big bucks to park, get in and eat and drink the horrible food they serve, not to mention most vendors have upped their prices to make up for the booth they were over charged in the first place. Now when does the "Fun" begin............oh, I know........when you finally get to LEAVE . . . LOL

Did a MORON just call some of us MORINS............WTH is a MORIN ? ? ? You can't make this ship up.......

You gotta think out of the box.............

FIRST, BEAUTIFUL Brook Trout ! ! ! About 30 years ago I tried Cabela's Pro Line Mono and have stuck with over the years. First 1/4 spool was 6# but since, I have purchased 4#, 8# 10# and 12# line also in the 1/4 spools. It's much less expensive and works as good as Berkeley or Stren.....I also have a Cabela's Floro line for tying worm harnesses but that's 20# line I never use on my reels. It holds up much better then mono when dragging bottom on Lake Erie with all those zebra mussels.... Speaking of mussels.........that is what I am having for dinner tonight

Walmart use to sell Berkley Polarized Sunglasses for believe it or not..........$5 . . . I purchased 7 pairs over several visits there. My boat has 2 pairs, my truck has two pairs, my wife's car has one pair, the fridge on my back yard deck holds one pair and the last pair is in the house.

Must be a Dodge thing ? ? ?

Yet we MUST pay around $200 for a chipped key that does nothing.
-
Is the key on this vehicle "Chipped" or not..........Just wondering how they can steal a vehicle if the key has a chip in it.

Those are not perch....they are large minnows.......LOL I have seen just about everything to attract perch on Lake Erie including chumming with dead minnows (I don't think that works because they drift off in deep water) dropping egg shells ( I don't think they work for the same reason) to gallon clear glass jar lowered down with a mess of minnows to attract perch. Not sure about this one because everyone was catching perch that day. I have a few secrets to catching Lake Erie Jumbo Perch but I certainty am not going to share them on the internet for millions to see.

The 200h kz frequency will give you approximately 20 degree cone so it's about 1/3 of the depth......for example in 100' of water the cone circle would be about 33'. Now with the 83 hkz it will triple that area of cone circle and easier to find fish or see your jig. So a 60 degree circle. I have a excellent diagram of these cone angles and I "think" I just uploaded the pic.

April is a GREAT time to be in the Vegas area. We've been there 15 years in a row and almost all in April.........haven't been there for 2 years now but going back this April. Temps are in the high 70's or low 80's at that time of year.
-
Uncle Cliff you are RIGHT, but just a few weeks ago I had total shoulder replacement and the bride would change the locks if I missed my physical therapy. I hope this kicks this back to the top so you get someone for that needed trip in the south. BTW have you thought of a trip to Vegas instead. Many people go there stag and it's much cheaper then you would think.
-
I was onboard that train until I realized I have therapy I can't miss........

I have done them 3 different ways and they all come out good If boiling, first cut ribs up by cutting on the same side of the bone for each rib, now you have individual ribs with all the meat on one side of the bone. Boil for 40 minutes with a onion and a couple of celery stalks. Remove and drain for a few minutes. Put ribs in a bowl and cover with your favorite BBQ sauce. Grill until toasty. Smoked ribs I leave whole and rub it with my secret Rib Rub and slow smoke for about 3 hours until the bones are sticking out. I use maple, hickory or mesquite wood. Right now I have some cut up ribs in the slow cooker on low. All I do is rough chop a onion, salt and pepper the ribs or use a rib rub and place in the crock pot............cover with BBQ sauce and let it go for at least 8 hours, maybe 10 hours. I am also making home made back beans to go with it....
