  1. I hope that the project will be a success. Personally, I think Simcoe as a Lake was doing quite well without muskie and that there are already many healthy waterbodies with good muskie populations surrounding Simcoe. I just think that the man hours, $$$ & fundraising efforts could probably have been put towards something else that might be a little more important/neccessary/significant then this. Once again I do hope it works & that the time money &efforts will not have gone to waste.
  2. confidence definetly a must to have for all species good on ya for finally getting that boat slimey there Wayne
  3. thanks for sharing Brian - allwayts some outstanding numbers/results come from that tourny we were on a different end of Simcoe yesterday... managed a good haul of perch & was off just as it was beginning to blow up
  4. my current rig I have dubbed "Free Time" as our family expands & when the time comes to upgrade to something bigger, ive got the next name allready picked out: "Dawg Pound"
  5. accudepths SUCK! Okuma's all the way for me
  6. what Terry said
  7. rods - nope reels - had a rivet that holds the bail pop out - they replaced it for me nice little units for the price & you gotta luv CT
  8. hey Mo almost 3 years to the date I had mine done. Lasik MD in Niagara Falls. My procedure was a little different as I had a stigmatism, but it has been a positive experience thus far, no night vision problems at all either. Same story for my father (mid 50's) as well
  9. almost allways rod holders (Down Easters) 2 exceptions though.... a) I am finesses trolling and need to feel my bait regularly making bottom contact, as wel as the soft pick up of a fish I will do some musky trolling with the rod in my hand generally if I am fishing less then 15 FOW & weeds are present, depending on the pull of the bait - it helps to feel when I pick up the green stuff and you really cant beat feeling the strike in your hands as opposed to "watching" it!
  10. two spots i can think of... Buckhorn General store & just down the road on the other side of the locks, there is a small Ma & Pop bait shop near 3 Castles...
  11. sometimes when I see the "support our troops" ribbon stickers on vehicles, I sometimes think that I am seeing Spindoctors
  12. Hey folks, please pardon my lack of posting for the last while... have been hitting the water hard every week of late, i'll get around to throwing up some photos sometime soon.... today was a great day though - my new fishing buddy & first child for my wife & I was born this afternoon here's Jeffrey 8lbs 14oz & 20 1/4" we're allready swapping lies! gotta go to the garage now & find a way to secure the car seat to the Crestliner
  13. I think of you, Rebecca & that day often Gerritt that was the 1st day that I logged on to the OFC board to have a little look around. I then realized that this site was a little bit deeper then "just a fishing board". It also reminds me of how nearly 3 1/2 yrs ago, that my family lost or only daughter/sister at the age of 17 in a trgic auto-accident. Many of us here have lost some family memebers earlier then planned & feel the same pain. I'll be thinking of you tommorow bud.

  21. So the wife & I one day would like to travel out that way.... could be two or ten years from now..... nevertheless, just wondering if anyone here had anything to share that could help us out... we would most likley go for 7-10 days (including the travelling) and probably 4 days of strictly fishing... hoping to hook into Inconnu (sheefish) Grayling, Halibut & of course some of them legendary salmon & steelhead we would probably would use a guide/charter for a coupla days for various species, but wuold also like to do some on our own as well... thanks in advance..
