  1. I remember somebody called out somene for posting the same message on "mulitble boards" before
  2. THough they take the most "bigger" fish for me, I hate fighting salmon on wire dipsey setups, ya its fun feeling 'em directly, but I prefer 14 lb mono with a clean spoon off the rigger for trout & kings
  3. I agree Heartland & TDRs are reasonably priced & bullet proof The Accudepths & Okuma Magdas will do the job, but if your gonna do a little more trolling then just 2 trips a year to Quinte, do yourself a favor & get Convectors or Sealine linecounters - speaking from experience
  4. go to one of the piers and chuck a spoon or bounce a jig.. ya never know....
  5. think about what most produce, pork, beef & chicken are exposed to and/or injected with & a few small trout & salm on look pretty good - I have a small coho on my BBQ right now actually
  6. some "cool shots" there Justin
  7. anyone remember any instance like this when they couldnt race on Monday either?
  8. do lots of homework & ask lots of questions before settling on a trailer park - rules & certain fee's vary by park - at some parks now, trailer owners are being stuck into municipal taxes where the park owner is paying tax on the whole property allready (double dipping Gov't) Crestliner, Tracker, Smoker Craft & Sylvan - good brands of boats to look into
  9. for those who are unfamiliar with them http://moorelectronics.com/fishing/fishing.html http://www.cabelas.com/spodw-1/0036108.shtml
  10. I agree with Tybo & Uncle Buck 1) get the vinyl as the base & snap in carpet for when conditions call for it 2) wood floors with vinyl are prone to wood rot - this winter ill be taking the wood pieces out of the boat in my garage for the weeks my boat wont in use & i'll let everything breath & dry & i'll be able to get the whole hull/pedestal bases cleaned up from all the little bits of junk that find there way in the crices ( ill post up some photos of that little project when it happens) my boat is 4 yrs old
  11. a down speed & temp unit is to trolling what a flashers (Vexilar) is to icefishing - once you use one, you just cant fish without one again - i have afew friends how have them on their boats very slick indeed - its pretty high up on my wish list - auto inflate PFD's first tho.....
  12. interesting a good day nonetheless
  13. congrats to Scottydog on a fine walleye too bad it didnt make it in time tho.....
  14. quite normal for many fish have a little tint on them Brian in the middle of summer I often catch some rainbows showing some of their colours a little more prominently then many of the typical silver bullets as well
  15. will be a good experience for him Brian someday i'd like to be on the competeing end of it...
  16. sorry to hear this my friend... but his pain is gone, and him & your Mum are catching up now please accept condoleneces from both Andrea & I
  17. you know anything about fishing with brightly coloured objects at your side eh Rog?
  18. in many of the major 1 or 2 day salmon tournaments nowadays each team is required to supply a spotter (aka observer) all the the spotters names are then drawn & assigned to a different team/boat for the tournie, their job is basically to just be an iumpartial witness to make sure all rules are being complied with they are not allowed to fight/land/net fish. A few friends of mine have done this & I have been told that it is a great way to learn some of the newer technique being used on the Lake from the best salmon anglers. I would like to do it once myself. As well, often you are often invited the to prefish with your team (you can fight fish then)
  19. you definetly could not have picked a better charter boat or captain. Dave is the man. Congrats on a decent day.
  20. totally agree.... there shouldnt even be a consv. lic. ( ontario is the only prov that offers one correct?) Im suprised the bloodsuck'n Govt has'nt figured out that it would be an easy way to make a couple extra bucks for our gas thirsty CO's to only offer a sports license....
  21. nice shooting der fella's pete, I thought you gave up on fishing for bait! (jk)
  22. 1 fishing partners that are late (without letting me know that they would be) 2 other boats who dont have or turn on there navigational lights when they are supposed to 3 idiots on the VHF channels being idiot-like
  23. I too am on the water too often when many of these shows are on & I dont have WFN but occassionally i'll sleep in on the weekends & catch glimpes of some shows. I do enjoy Getting Hooked, Urban Outdoor Adventures, and Fishful Thinking - good clear, watchable hosts who fish "regular" spots & teach you a few things. Ive been watching & reading Choronzey (Going Fishing/Ontario Fisherman) since nearly the beginning. Ive said it once & i'll say it again... Darryl is the Don Cherry of Ontario fishing, you may not agree with him, but he says it how it is & isnt affraid of the the outcome & most often is factually correct. And being a Great Lakes (Salmon) guy myself, I almost allways totally agree with his view point.
  24. hmmmm MIGHT be able to swing it.....
