  1. Lol I see Tkachuk takes right after his father except I have to say he does it in a much more clean manner, his dad would have just elbowed mcdavid in the head. Its funny that he turtled when kassian went at him haha Just a total pest. So much like Kadri ahahaha just causing all sorts of stuff and then diving and turtling when the other team takes a shot at him ahaha The kind of guy that you absolutely despise, but if hes on your team you love it. Darcy Tucker made a career out of it. I think this is the kind of hockey Chris likes to watch, and i agree with him, intensity...but look, your good players can get in the mix, you dont need a useless plug out there just to fight. Draisaitl was in the mix in nearly every single scrum, plus he laid that absolutely monster hit. Tkchuk can play, and mix it up. Thats why one of my all time favourite players is jarome Iginla, dude was absolutely tough as nails, strong as a bull, could score like a machine and was one of the best human beings to ever play the game, his charitable work is next level and hes an all around family man. You gotta love him. Total Horse turd that the refs jumped in on that Nurse fight, you can easily read his lips F of! Let us f in go let us f in go
  2. Update! Picked up the Fuses from payne Marine on saturday, and it was as easy as could be, took the cowel off and there were two blatant fuse holders labeled 20 amp and 30 amp right there in the open. Opened up the 20 it looked fine, opened the 30 and it was smoked...the Glue that holds the glass to the metal end was melted, had to use a pair of needle nose to pull what was left of the fuse out of the holder...everything went perfectly. got the navigloo set up and shes ready for winter. Unfortunately a little bit of snow got on the floor of the boat, but the navigloo isnt air tight so hopefully it will dry out over the course of the winter when it gets really cold. Threw in a whole package of moth balls all over the boat, that IQ challenged is gonna stink come spring lol
  3. Was in PAB this weekend, saturday wasnt warm, but it wasnt miserable as it has been most of the fall, winds were light and the sun even came out...Then the weather flipped the temperature dropped and the boys woke up in the dark to go catch some more walleye sunday morning, walked down to the dock...the entire lake was frozen over. We then spent the next hour bustin ice to get it out and then the snow came and we put the other boat away and took the dock out in a total whiteout. Theres over a foot of snow on the ground and the lake is frozen...i wouldnt exactly call it fall anymore.
  4. Its a known fact, teams come in to toronto and amp up their game because half of the team is from the GTA. Ive always said, although I absolutely love the hockey night in Canada game, it is the absolutely worst thing for the Toronto Maple leafs. You have a bunch of canadian guys that play in florida, texas, california, missouri where no one even goes to their games, then they get a game saturday night in Toronto, hockey night in canada the whole country is watching and the guys are back home in the GTA with their families watching live in the stands, its the worst thing that can happen to the leafs. Such is life. Good news in all of this, Matthews shouldnt feel rushed to come back...although you want him playing, and you know he wants to be playing, they can make sure hes basically 100% before he hits the ice again and thats good.
  5. I think the concensus amognst his teammates and himself is that he actually played better because of it. In an interview with him he even admits that once he saw that the sharks were upset he went after it even harder because he knew he was in their head. Any time you have Joe Thorton worried about your third second line centre and not scoring...thats a win Also just to totally debunk your theory about "keeping guys honest" Tom Wilson the "deterrent" is back and guess what TJ Oshie takes a head check and is now out with a concussion.
  6. dont tempt me! Sonoco 360? interesting, its now just called Ultra 94 and since Petro Bought them out its available now at limited petro stations. The one in georgetown south has it, i used to fill up the old mazdaspeed with the stuff, highest octane gas available without buying straight jet fuel that the boys at cayuga run. ive heard some guys have 110 octane gas there.
  7. Serious question, was this the shortest boating season in southern ontario...maybe ever? or at least in the last what 40 years? Remember how cold it was this spring? We actually didnt have ice out in Pointe Au Baril until the 3rd of May, it was the first time ever in my time that the lake wasnt opened up for pike opener. Jeez i remember working on the boat in the middle of April in Georgetown and it was -12! Ive got a photo on my phone, April 29th, theres still snow on the ground and ice on the lake. Pointe Au Baril Harbour froze up on Monday night...Maybe some of the legends around here can speak to what it was like back in the 70s and 80's but the 90's and 2000's were never this cold this early and late I can assure you of that...damn in the 2000's we had a couple of winters that just didnt happen at all!
  8. absolutely not, especially without AM and Nylander you need offensive presence like marleau there. kaps first goal doesnt happen without marleau. Whats martin going to do, protect kadri? The last thing you want is a guy like Matt Martin on the bloody ice when Joe Thornton is out there, that match up wouldnt happen all night anyways, and if it did its a mistake, and trust me theres nothing matt martin is going to do to Joe Thornton. Meier, seems like kadri did just fine handling his own...In fact, it probably made Kadri play even better, thats usually how it is when he gets to be intense and engaged. Its no different than when anyone plays hockey, if you get into a 1 on 1 war with someone, your game intensifies. No one got injured, they battled hard and won the game as you should. Kadri even said it after the game, he was the one engaging them because he knew he could throw them off their game and it worked.
  9. absolutely smokin deal for someone with a tinner that wants a bow mount, throw a sheet of 3/4 inch plywood in the front and youve got yourself a fishing machine
  10. Hey Iron...i dont think esso has an ethanol free gas...Even their premium has 10% ethanol. It bugs me because they offer PC points on their gas rather than to the totally useless airmiles that shell offers. Shell V power 91 is ethanol free and Canadian Tire Premium is as well. Always safe bets And yes he takes after his dad, a depression era Ukranian farmer from Alberta, same goes for my grandma, her mom (my great grandma) was 13 years old and the spanish flu wiped out her entire family so she hopped on a boat from poland by herself (can you believe that!) opened up a corner store in rural alberta.
  11. that looks like some absolutely killer salmon bait
  12. Hey Iron, do me a favour and have a chat with my old man would ya? Hes got enough dough, but still has his damn dad's farmer mentality... For a chuckle to explain the pure insanity that i deal with every day...He bought himself a brand new audi SUV...go ahead figure out the price tag...he then spent the time to calculate out exactly the cost difference of regular vs mid grade gas over the life of the vehicle due to the improved fuel economy of his new vehicle vs the last... because he can no longer put regular gas in his turbo charged car...The however much...$1,000? difference in cost over the course of 10 years? you gotta fill the damn thing up anyways! Last week at the cottage he also gave me a hard time because i brushed my teeth while I shower and apparently the cost of the hot water it took for me to brush my teeth is too high for him to afford lmao, this is a guy speaking inside his georgian bay lakefront cottage...Good times...good times? Heres the dope straight up, you can maybe get away with using ethanol gas in four strokes, but do not/never use it in an engine where the stuff has any time to sit and collect moisture. So yes, you can probably use it in your boat if you are like me and go boating every weekend, but if not, stay the hell away, the extra 10 cents per litre over the course of the life of a motor vs the cost of straight up replacing a 10-20 thousand dollar motor? pretty easy math to me. Outright, 2 strokes and ethanol dont work..dont do it, its been proven over and over that ethanol gas is a total nightmare for 2 stroke engines...just dont do it. The day that i take over operations up at the lake, its gonna be a ethanol free environment and the oil changes will be done and the carburators will be fogged, and the plugs will be changed every year. Simple low cost maintence that pretty much guarantees your stuff will run forever.
  13. lmao im just here cause the inuendo is dang killing me. A quick check on the conservation status of the fish you are talking about would explain why its most likely totally outlawed for commercial fishing...the fish is listed as a species vulnerable to global extinction. with populations collapsing in all areas that it is found. Alewife predation, sea lamprey and pollution "smoked" the whole population. Hopefully with the total collapse of the alewife and sea lamprey population in Huron the species can make a come back. Although, if you fish parry sound for lakers...they are munchin on alewife still so i dont know how well it holds up.
  14. ya...even if they are already there, i would be using them and need more A great outcome for me, Payne Marine in Pointe Au Baril was able to get the parts for me direct from Yamaha and they got shipped in one day! I will update everyone saturday once I take a look! Pray for good mojo! If the problem seems bigger, gonna bust out the multimeter and watch some youtube videos lol Thats how i do most things these days ahahha.
  15. just got word from my local yamaha dealer in Pointe Au Baril that I can get the fuses from Yamaha here in Toronto. Mark Payne from Payne Marine has been more than helpful to me. An absolutely top notch shop.
  16. Praying that I can get the fuses from yamaha for the weekend i wish i could just assume they are standard size but knowing my luck id buy them from canadian tire, head up north and be SOL
  17. awesome, thanks for the input guys. I also posted my predicament on the Bass Boat central forms and the consensus seems to be the fuses under the cowl on the right hand side (fuse 30 and 31) as Ohio pointed out are the issue. I will let everyone know how it goes this weekend.
  18. lol definitely didnt leave it hooked up, disconnected everything and left it that way until i can get back to it to try and fix the boat ill have to take a look, any specific spot the screw is typically located? just down on the actual hydraulic pump?
  19. ...except my buddy jake and i caught 50 walleye last saturday, and my pops and i caught another 20 between 15-24 inches on sunday morning in 2 1/2 hours...thats why im still out there lol all good, i thought it was somewhat strange that the fuse in the motor would effect the console power? but maybe the console is inline after the motor? That way the starting power goes to the motor first??? thats the exact motor...ill have to check those two inline fuses, seems like they are glass fuses rather than plug ins. old boat 98 skeeter with a 98 yamaha
  20. typically found up by the carb? or towards the back at the plugs and head?
  21. Hi Guys, In one of my not so finest moments, I had just finished winterizing the boat, pulled the batteries out and realized...I forgot to put the motor back up so that I could move it into its parking spot for the winter. I am in a rush as daylight was fading today and I did something very stupid. I went to reconnect to the battery to put the motor up so that I could move the boat and of course in my haste and stupidity i put the damn wires on the wrong polarity...spark flash and woop dee doo I blew something... Went to my breaker panel, its all nicely labeled but all of the fuses there were great. My boat literally has no power at all now. turn the ignition key and nothing happens, the console doesn't turn on, just straight dead. My guess??? is that there is a mainline fuse on the way to the breaker panel, however when i looked at the wires i couldnt see one. Boat is a 98 skeeter, yamaha engine, so the wiring is nothing fancy, is it typical to have a fuse before the breaker panel? If so would i expect it to be at the console at the breaker panel, or is in the back (i tried to follow the line in the engine bay but it eventually went into some loom that i expect just heads up to the ignition and breaker panel at the front. Perhaps theres a fuse at the actual ignition? Wouldnt be a huge issue but now my boat is dang sitting in the middle of the damn driveway and of course winter has decided to start way too early up north forcing me into winterizing way earlier than expected...what a crap show. Any insight anyone can give is greatly appreciated.
  22. Direct from the government rules related to snowmobiling. i didn’t even realize it was law. We have definitely been known to boot down the lake slowly to our hut on the sled without a helmet. I guess I’ll have to reconsider from now on. Helmets Drivers and passengers must always wear a snowmobile helmet that meets the standards approved for motorcycle helmets, with the chin strap securely fastened. Everyone who rides on a cutter, sled or similar device towed by a snowmobile must also wear a helmet
  23. thats mind blowing to me, i figured the salmon fishery was all but dead up in my neck of the woods. My mind would be even more blown catching it in the actual pickerel river rather than out on the open water.
  24. the wind we have had this fall is nuts...not to mention the fact that it has rained I think 98% of the days since september...all good after the drought we had this summer, but thinking back to previous years, we always had that stretch sometime in october or november where it was pleasant to be in the boat, and it hasnt been since september. Its a weird limbo...I think im starting to accept that the boat has to go away next weekend before the big snowfalls come...If thats the case, after next weekend, bring on the cold, lets bust out the flashers and short rods.
  25. man, too clean!!!! that reel handle combo is ridiculous.
