  1. lol not quite yet, got some walleyes to catch for the next few weeks. But it may be time to at least start the work of doing the leg oil and getting everything else in order so that I can get it put away before our first big snowsquall event up there.
  2. well..its that time of year. After some unforseen circumstances with my intended location of storing, I am stuck (although somewhat willingly because i can get my boat out of storage in march now to go fishing in the south carolina) using a navigloo to put the baby away for winter. I am also probably going to take some extra care and wrap the baby up in extra tarps around the trailer, jack up the trailer onto blocks to keep it off of the ground etc etc. Its my first time winterizing a boat! Bass Boat Central has a great guide on winterizing your boat. found here http://www.bassboatcentral.com/winterizing.htm Ive got the fogging oil, the lower end oil, the marine fuel stabilizer, the premium ethanol free gas to top the tanks up, the marine oil to top that tank up as well. Im ready to pull all of the batteries out and store them on wood somewhere warm, and ive got some plumbing antifreeze to dump down the livewell drains and pumps. One common theme of concern though that I keep coming across is moisture and mice. the last thing i need is some damn vermin chewing through my fibreglass. Does anyone have any tips for keeping the moisture and mice out? I have heard of "buckets of moisture manager" being placed inside the boat...what products are you using? Ive also heard of using mothballs to keep mice away...but is it effective? Anyone have any tips?
  3. ridiculous deal for someone thats looking to get off of the shore and fish...throw an electric trolling motor on it and youve just changed your entire fishing game.
  4. this guy scores less than i did with the ladies in college and highschool...and thats sad
  5. as is always when im in a boat, because i fish a lot, I am always involved in the decision making process. On my uncles boat it was just the same, i made as many decisions as I wanted to make. When im trolling laketrout on Georgian bay with my old man i make 95% of the decisions. Im not hating on it, dont get me wrong its a good time, but to me it still pales in comparison. There were days in the charlottes where you couldnt get the riggers down through the coho to get at the springs, its good fun absolutely, but when you eliminate casting and feeling a bite, a lot of fishing is lost to me. Ever caught a 4+lb big lake smallmouth on a walk the dog lure? Not a heck of a lot beats that. I am not hating on salmon either they are insane. Best fight ive ever had was hooking salmon nymphing with a 5 wt in the credit. I literally had to run after the fish to stop it from spooling me. Ever felt a 40+ inch musky hit your swimbait boatside? Not much compares to that.
  6. theres nothing tough about ryan ellis and PK subban, or drew doughty for that matter. Funny you keep referencing guys from non playoff teams...coincidence, i think not. The Playoffs dont matter if you dont get there in the first place. I think you are confusing toughness with quality defense lol Tough forwards that dont score dont win hockey games. D men that are slow that cant win puck battles or get the puck out of their zone like nikita zaitsev or make terrible decisions and have terrible giveways like jake gardiner, or are just too damn slow to keep up in todays nhl like Ron Hainsey are the issue.
  7. kassian as of this week got cut from the oilers and has been provided an open door to find himself a team that he can be traded too... Lmao your second best example is Lucic...if you like watching that bum attempt to stand up on his skates then you and I will never see eye to eye lmao. (im an oilers fan) The only reason Lucic is even in the NHL is because the oilers have to justify how much money they are blowing on his salary every season for a sub 4th liner...the guy wouldnt be in the NHL if the oilers werent dumb enough to pay him. Also...youd rather toronto play like edmonton? so finish with 20 pts out of the playoffs? Well it was worth it because they got in more fights than the leafs. taking penalties and sucking at hockey, now that entertainment. Imagine the oilers didnt get gifted with Mcdavid, where would they be?
  8. fished what is arguably the best salmon fishery in the world in the queen charlotte islands, caught a ridiculous amount of cohos, springs and even some halibut, sharks and rock fish to boot...give me topwater smallmouth fishing any day. dont get me wrong, its fun...but trolling is still the most boring form of fishing...i guess it might be better than jigging walleye lol
  9. with a comment like that, i hope you fish musky...also...largemouth go 20+ lbs so they actually get heavier than walleye lol. Our climate in Ontario just doesnt allow it. i get it...guys like fishing salmon, but trolling is probably the crappiest form of fishing around. Yes, ill be the first to admit swinging a salmon on the fly in a river is top notch fishing, but you arent gonna have many 50 fish days doing that either. I will make one comment about the MEME I never have had a day where I anchored and didnt switch baits and caught 50 bass...ive done it walleye fishing though.
  10. those days are long dead...name teams with enforcers...go...
  11. quality fishing post, that musky is thick for the kawarthas
  12. You givin us flack cause I don’t wanna get sucked into the American Walleye crapola lol im from northern Manitoba where Americans and people from ontario call pickerel Walleye and jack fish pike lol
  13. this is a tough one...I fish a lot of bass but i guess at the end of the day if Im talking about the rod that gets the most use its gonna be my dropshot set up because no matter what, theres always a drop shot rigged up on my casting deck, even when the bite is hot topwater or jerkbait or whatever you wanna throw, when i get a miss or mark a fish on the graph the drop shot gets tossed out. Then in the fall for pickerel i pretty much only use a drop shot rod...i throw the odd crankbait for some weird local patterns ive figured out but thats like 1-100th of the time i spend fishing eyes in the fall, the rest ive got a drop shot rod in my hands. Fall walleye is the only time i use live bait, but thats because its too damn fun, last outing between me and my buddy we caught 30+ walleye in 2 hours. Loomis DSR (cant remember the model) paired up with a stradic Ci4+ strung with 16lb Power Pro with a 8lb FC sniper leader, circle hook and a tungsten weight...that bloody thing catches anything under the sun.
  14. very odd as bodies after sinking typically float back...scugog is so shallow too, youd think someone fishing or something may have ran into him....horrific
  15. funny story... and if this insults a board member...oh well take a joke lol A few years back when i first started fishing a good friend had invited me up to his trailer in bridgenorth to go fishing. He was driving and on the way we saw a couple of questionable towns to which we joked were pretty "greasy" well my buddy says, "phhh wait till we get to scugog, scugog is greasy" and i laugh and reply "we shall see" Well what do you know, the very first thing we see as we pull into scugog is a guy on a ride on lawn mower towing a bow rider down main street....Confirmed Scugog...to quote bubbles from Trailer Park Boys is "Greeeaaaheee-e-e-e-sy"
  16. I think you are under estimating two major things about that series in Boston. 1. The first two games in Td gardens the leafs looked like a junior A team because they were a bunch of kids that had never played heavy playoff hockey. Boston was prepared and came out and just ran over them 2. Our number two centre got suspended for three games in the first game of the entire series. That made for an absolutely massive change in line up matchups for the rest of the series. If you erase the first two games where Toronto just looked stunned Toronto won 3 of the next 5 games. Our centres were if I can even remember correctly? Auston Matthews, William nylander and Tomas Plekenec thats a hell of a lot different than matthews, Tavares and kadri with marner Marleau nylander and now the beast Kapanen on the wings...they are basically an entirely different team. While we are on the subject of “wimpy” players, Mitch marner was by far and away the leafs best player in that entire series... im not disagreeing the leafs could improve on D but if you really think Leo Komorov is the answer, I can assure you, you are dead wrong lol. In the total 8 games that Leo played against Washington and Boston in the playoffs he had 1 assist lol. He sucked.
  17. im not surprised their D gets beat up by a team with forwards like the jets...but at the same time, what do you want...forwards with skill and speed, or forwards that grind and cycle. then you have weird hybrids like matthews who owns the puck down low but can also score. Marner made big buff look silly on that 4th goal.
  18. Barring a total collapse, which to me doesnt actually represent a real argument Everyone talks about how the leafs need to be bigger and tougher...Look at how slow the jets look vs the leafs...they cant match 3 the up front skill, there was like 6 odd man rushes in the first where toronto totally stretched the jets out and they couldnt keep up with matthews, kappenen marner or kadri. The jets are a damn good team...perhaps top 4 in the entire league...but speed kills. The western conference is just different than the east.
  19. or tripling done this a few times in my life, just need to think about stuff before other people realize. Even I was late to the party on weed, the really smart investors were in way before even I was. I did this with Ford motor company when they announced the bail out, the company couldnt lose so i went in and sure enough doubled up. BP was another one I wanted to do but didnt have the capital to get in at such a high share price. When the oil spill happened but they finally got things under control I wanted to buy because the stock value took a total beating, the fundamentals of the company havent changed, the company will still make money so theres always a clear upside. Most recently once again i didnt have the capital to invest, but when nike dropped the colin kapernick ad and all of the racist investors bailed outta the stock I told my friends to all buy, sure enough the stock hit an all time high about a week later. Everything right now is taking a beating though, standard october sell off...how far it will fall will be telling, we are definitely due for another recession, its been 10 years and theres basically one every decade.
  20. Lol if you are still in weed stocks you are way late to the party. I was in on canopy at $4.50 and APH at $3.25 cashed out a long time ago when stuff got stupid. Could have obviously made a pile more, but my truck was paid for in cash
  21. been following your trip on FB and the grams man the colour on some of those brookies is next level. Gotta love the easy fishing where you get bored of catching so many walleye. Thanks for posting
  22. i dont buy into this whole "pesticide" conspiracy Bull...i friggin guarantee that the stoners that were buying weed 10 years ago from the hells angels had no friggin clue what the hell was on their weed. Now that theres transparency all of a sudden people are freaking out lol. You really think some illegal grow oppers gave a damn about keeping the weed grown in the molson brewery tanks in barrie organic? lmao sounds like someone has smoked a bit too much. Like anything with the government, they botch the launch and take years of Bull until they get things running smoothly. I gotta laugh at the folks that think that dont realize that the very funding that is being generated by the legal sale will be used to ensure that the black market suffers immensely to the point that it just becomes totally unfeasible to try and grow it illegally. Yes the black market will thrive for now but it will dwindle away once the legal system is settled. How many folks here drink hooch on the regular because its "cheaper". Aside from some croats and italian guys with their grappa and moonshine, most people i know only have LCBO liquour in their cabinets.
  23. $100,000 boat with a bunch of crappy miscoloured stickers and some random green accents... I bet the $20,000 looks better lol i mean at the end of the day, what do you expect from a walleye guys on lake erie, they arent neccesarily graphic designers or guys with a great taste for looks...but thats an expensive as hell boat that look damn good on their own. Look at the one they have on the warrior website...looks like a war machine with nice styling.
  24. man, am i the only one that thinks they ruined a really nice boat with that ugly green evinrude and crappy stickers? If you are going to slap 100 decals on a boat, at least make them match the colour scheme.
