  2. I walk my dog every morning and its awesome to see the changes of seasons for me it was the arrival of birds every morning it seemed a new species showed up at the park. The cardinals came first, then the sparrows, then the robins. After that rain last week the nightcrawlers were out and the robins were gorging.
  3. stone's arm has a "microfracture" someone call the whambulance. Are we forgetting that Koivu played one year bald from chemo and with a broken rib! Its the friggin playoffs suck it up. The slash wasnt "malicious" if he was slashing to break someones bones it would be bobby clarke summit series esque You go to the net you get hit, i wouldnt expect anyone that doesnt play hockey to know that though. Man up.
  4. reading this stuff makes me shutter, Im going to enjoy the high water on GB while it lasts!
  5. im having huge flashbacks of the Stop the Drop days. It sucks guys and its not fun at all, i feel for all of you. it got so bad on GB that I couldnt even launch my boat anymore using an already extended marine rail system. it was so bad that I couldnt float a boat that was 10 feet outside of our boathouse, I was able to walk on dry land around it. The culprit here is well below average precipitation in February and March and a poor judgement on the guys that control your dams. I will say that at least someone has some form of control. Maybe the problem can be rectified next year.
  6. Anaheim - Jets : Jets in 7 (jets will be unbeatable at home) Vancouver Calgary - Vancouver in 6 St Louis Minnesnowta - St Louis in 7 (ugghhhh st louis is my pick again and they get matched up with minny ugghhh) Chicago Nashville - Chicano's in 5 Montreal Ottawa - Montreal in 5 (Carey makes the hamburgler look like a joke) 1 goal games win series good luck scoring on Carey..also no home ice advantage for Ottawa as the habs fans will be out in force Tampa Detroit - Tampa in 6 New York Pittsburgh - New York in 6 Capitals and NYI - New York Islanders in 7 Would pick round 2 right now but im too lazy to make the matchups...Final is gonna be St Louis vs Montreal (ughhh it hurts me to say this but Montreal wins the cup) if Carey gets banged up at all, all bets are off. Didnt realize patcioretti was that hurt, i revise my pick to montreal in 7
  7. I wasnt clear, in district 14 the slot is what you are not allowed to keep. Its the opposite of many other places where slot fish are the ones you are supposed to keep i.e. in the kawarthas you can keep walleye between 15-22 or somehwere in that range, meanwhile in 14 you are not allowed to keep anything between 16 and 22. Seconded to the idea that CO's pay for themselves, there is more than the hourly wage to account for, boats, gas, benefits etc all cost money, although personally I am not against the idea. its the old point that I have fished my entire life and purchased my sport license and followed the rules to a T (with the very rare honest mistake) meanwhile guys are sitting on peirs fishing out of season fish and gutting them on the spot.
  8. i need to start doing this when i witness guys keeping slot walleye every single year during the fall run.
  9. to this day I have never seen a CO in my life.
  10. Dickey absolutely shafted again, <2 ERA and still losing. correction, slightly over 2 ERA but still ridiculous, the guys allowed 3 runs in 2 games this year and hasnt won.
  11. was in Pointe Au baril over the weekend, things still very locked up around there with 2 feet of solid ice, some cracks forming though, this warm weather should start to break things up a bit more. I was out on the ice though this weekend doing some work and it was solid. I have a feeling I will be dodging bergs on opener. The small channels with current are open, but anywhere in the main area is very very solid still.
  12. i am pumped to watch the return of the real white out
  13. building a trolling motor mount and casting deck for the tinner this weekend (anything to pass the time till may)

  14. glad to see the rookie got through his first game in the bronx nice and clean. Well done! Remember a little while ago the jays couldnt win a game in New york, never mind a series. Good stuff, although NY looks really really bad, look for them to finish last in the division. Good to see Edwin swinging the big bat!
  15. poor Dickey, I cant lie when i say that Toronto has forgotten about how good Dickey really can be when he is on. 2 years ago he was the talk of the town, now no one pays him any mind. Rightfully so, yes he has had to slow starts 2 years in a row, but no one talks about the fact that after July the guy went something ridiculous like 8-2? (cant find exact stats) There is no denying that Dickey can pitch, its just about piecing it all together. Also games like yesterday did Dickey no favors...pitches into the 8th with 1 run and a 4 run lead and doesnt get the win, thats garbage.
  16. No one is going to Miss Lawrie. The guy literally played in something ridiculous like 52% of the games that he should have technically been available for. Hes a bandaid and the jays got the best 3rd basemen in the MLB for him.
  17. what is going on in the kawarthas that the water is so low?
  18. team hasnt moved? They have one of the best attendances in the entire MLB?
  19. ding ding here comes the catch and release police. Pump I would suggest doing a bit of reading on how to properly handle pike, specifically a gill plate hold. Theres plenty online about how to pick the fish up without sticking your hands into the gills, but at the same time avoid their teeth. Practice makes perfect! As mentioned here a pair of 10 dollar handheld bolt cutters would be a great thing to have especially since you are targeting Ice out pike, which generally are big females. Also never leave home without a pair of long pliers, pike are really aggressive and swallow trebles a lot. Nice catch though!
  20. Im an avid Jays fan, i usually get out to at least 10 games a year, just finished watching them win their season opener. Im not entirely bullish on the jays this year, but they do have a lot of great pieces. Martin looks fantastic and so does donaldson. A lot of rookies this year though, they will be relying on some young talent to get them by, its gonna be tough. On the positive side their division is much weaker yet again this year, specifically the orioles are missing a couple of their top guys. If today was any sign of how Tanaka's elbow is feeling, its going to be a long haul for the yankees this year. The great thing about young guys, is that their potential is limitless, meaning there no expectation except to hope that they perform at a high level. I am going to predict an 86 win season.
  21. everything is closed now, come opener in may, look for pike in the shallows trying to warm up. Science says pike will do anything to stay in the 18 degree celcius zone, meaning the later in the summer the deeper the big ones go. at that time find deeper weed beds and toss spoons. Pike will basically hit anything that moves, its just a matter of finding them.
  22. looks to be close to 45+? what do the musky guys think here?
  23. Yesterday was the first time I watched the leafs and cheered hard for them in a long time. And god did it feel good, i dont think ive yelled so loud at the TV since they were in the playoffs a few years back. Poetic justice that the leafs might just end up being the reason ottawa misses the playoffs!
  24. sounds like someone left the tab in their browser open with the porno playing
  25. i thought a true sailor goes down with the ship
