The Government needs to pay the hospital bills for sclerosis of the liver some how! LOL! I have drank Lakeport... while it was ok for the price... I have expanded... and found MacLays to be better IMHO.... but that does not change the fact that their marketing machine worked.... Having said that Labatt bought Lakeport because of the threat they posed.. Lakeport had 10-14% of the Canadian beer market... Which is HUGE! Even Labatt could not do what Lakeport did! In terms of Market share. So Labatt Swallowed them..... with every intention of burying them... Blue volume is down.. so to keep their London plant to capacity they will move Lakeport production there.. Thereby shuttering the Hamilton Lakeport plant.. http://www.thespec.com/article/744966 This is yet another blow to the Hamilton economy.. first it is steel... next it is beer... The Blue collar worker is under attack in Hamilton G.

Very true! I booked my charter well in advance of arriving at my resort, they picked us up, and dropped us off it was all set up a month before our arrival.. it was 200 PP for this charter.. and this was a PRIVATE charter.. not a shared one, upon a 34' boat. G.

Labatt could not compete with Lakeport.. they tried and failed. So rather then fight them, they bought them.. And Cascioli made off like a bandit.. Most knew when this acquisition occurred this would happen.. While I am not a Lakeport drinker (I prefer Mac Lays @ the same price point) I hope the best for those workers that Cascioli screwed over. G.

I pretty much grew up on that lake, spending every summer there with my grandparents.. and Wayne is right... watch for flooding. there is many years we have gone to the cottage only to find things floating... and Airport Rd, is prone to flooding.. and there is nothing that can be done about it as there are many areas that are protected all around the lake as a protected wetland, there by stopping any and all development. anyways good luck with the move, and I hope it is not a basement Apartment! G

I have never had a problem in the DR... The issue can arise when people over indulge as is often the case at an AI resort... Or from water, do not drink it from the tap or brush you're teeth with it. Use the bottled water provided. G

I have Fished in Punta Cana! have you ever been before? I took a charter out, and had a blast! caught all kinds of Wahoo... and seeing the flying fish all over the place was amazing! What resort are you staying at? have you considered a charter? it wasnt too bad about 400 USD if I remember correctly. I can put you onto the reputable service I used if you are interested G.

But carpeted MDF is suitable for a student on a budget.. all the other advice has been pretty much spot on. G

I just typed in Rice Lake into google... and OFC was not on the first page or the second or third.... G

I should add... the RLTA is promoting Ice Fishing on Rice lake via their website... It Says new for 2010, Ice Fishing on Rice Lake! http://www.ricelakecanada.com/fishing.htm Seems Very contradictory to me.. to Promote it... then bash it in the media? perhaps they have a rogue on their hands? G

The reason I suggest it, is that if one of our American friends googles "Rice Lake" they will see what is happening.... G

Perhaps a website could be setup damning these resorts and informing our American friends of there tactics.. using well thought out keywords, and naming names including links to the new paper articles.. This affects alot more then locals, and daily tourists.. it is private corporations lobbying, to protect their own interests... not the interest of the lake and its fish populations.. Greed plain and simple. G

I find it all VERY odd!.. They claim that they dont want ice fishing due to increased loss of life... due to increased risk to life emergency personal... Due to dangerous ice But they want to increase the limit to 500 to attract American Anglers... If the ice is so dangerous due to "currents" Why do they want to increase the limit to lure Americans to fish it....???? Is this some cleaver scheme to "off" Americans? It makes no sense to me! I also understand that Susan Irving-Cogar does not have winterized cottages.... So how is luring Americans to her resort... only to let them freeze to due death beneficial to her? Something is defiantly wrong here! G.
