  1. That settles it. I'm moving to NW Ontario! Awesome pics man...looks like you had yet another great season. Is there anything that Lindy Darter WON'T catch??? Just curious...is that the rainbow smelt colour that keeps appearing, or something else? I like it...
  2. That was amazing, Dave...I would easily give up a season's worth of outings to do that trip...maybe a couple seasons. AWESOME!!!
  3. I've heard they're running to the north...
  4. Yeah, that was the fish...if I make it down there again I'll keep an eye out for ya
  5. Ha -- we were there around the same time, Ryan! Was the fish that you saw get caught the one that had the line wrapped around a log? I was the next group down from that guy...dodging the fellow with the carp setup casting from the top of the embankment
  6. I was fishing from shore yesterday...certainly not a lot of action for those of us lining the banks.....and I didn't see a lot happening out in most boats. But definitely a relaxing way to fish...totally hear you on the lack of tackle...I MAY go down one more time...Steve figures the next couple weeks are going to be the peak of cat-ivity
  7. MY first thought was that if Randy is posting it, it's gotta be good. Then I saw the website, and I think it's awesome...definitely a broader appeal than JUST angler/hunters....but certainly a good option for folks who like the canoe-trip style fishing. I'll give it the old
  8. Dude!! that trout is nice and fat!!! Seriously, I was reading through the 4 pages of "new content" since my last visit, and was going to PM you to see how you're doing...since I haven't seen any posts from you lately. Nice to see you're still getting out from time to time!!! One of these days, I'll have a report too. Parenthood. siiggghhh. Keep up the good work buddy!!!
  9. Nice motor, Archie! And I'm pretty sure I can see the fine print on the motor that tells you the proper side is facing up Lookin' forward to your first report outta the walleye dinghy....just be careful turning around at the boat launches...I heard a story about a coupla guys up your way who ended up in the ditch one dark night
  10. Happy Birthday Wayne, from me and my friend
  11. WOW!! That is crazy...time for beachcombing indeed!
  12. Beautiful...thanks for sharing. My condolences to you and your family.
  13. I've also been hearing good reviews about it this year...apparently it's only $5.00 if you want to show up after 5:00pm.
  14. There's also a set of rollers so you can lift over a small boat and get into Gull.
  15. That's a great report, man!! Congratulations on nailing those Simcoe Lakers -- I have yet to get one from Simcoe, although I don't get to it very often. You are a better man than me....there's NO WAY I would've let that first Simcoe laker go after that many skunkings...woulda fried it up post haste!!!
  16. Maybe I'm not catching enough fish becaues I'm not breaking enough gear!!! Nice outing everybody
  17. Daiwa makes a few nice rods that I like...can't think of models right now...megaforce I think...oh and bang for the buck, Berkely Lightning rod is really not bad at all. $35 if I recall...lots of backbone but very light and sensitive. I fish out of a 12" tinner, and a 16' canoe, and have no problem with a 1 piece...don't compromise....the 1-pc thing is really not an issue.
  18. Wow...I've been sitting here at my desk, absolutely slack-jawed for the last 10 minutes. Trip of a lifetime...thanks for sharing
  19. That is brutal, Paul!! But yeah, at least you nailed a nice fish, and the weather was just right for airing out the hut
  20. Great post, Woodsman! And Welcome Aboard, Steve_R. I've only heard good things about Birch Hill...actually went and icefished Nosbon myself this winter, and was impressed.
  21. Another AWESOME report from you man....way to go on nailing that GATOR
  22. Same thing happened to my Corsair....small plastic piece inside had finally worn down and given up the ghost...needed a proper shop to repair it. Only $40 tho...so it won't be bad once you get home with it...but for now, I'd say don't mess with it. Unless you wanna handline some of those fish in Have fun down there
  23. I haven't checked this thing out yet, but post #'s 9 and 10 have been worth the price of admission already
  24. That's really not a terrible price...would be cool to watch on the downrigger
