Cistern is the safest IMHO because the water can be trucked in city water, rather than well water that may change from time to time. Unless you have a high replenish rate well and a reverse osmosis purification system then a well can be better than a cistern.

As to living in the "country, I would not have it any other way right now.
Does the stock automatically update, so if you have it it is displayed? And if it is sold, it is not displayed? I was looking for the spinnerbaits and could not find any. I guess Mercman bought you out..
I heat a ~2400 square foot living space home with a combo of wood and oil. I usually burn 1.5 tanks of oil a year. About $1500 that includes domestic hot water and I have some very poor windows that are being replaced within the month. Mind you I keep the temp set around 60 - 63 degrees, so that helps as well.
The next time you do something that requires an emergency response, bear your attitude in mind, and fend for yourself. It is situations like this that determine if we are humane, or callous and uncaring.
