No you live on the wrong side of the runway to say that... Check out downtown Mount Hope and you might see what I was speaking about. Homestead drive and Airport road up to the UPS access road.

I made out quite well, came home with two feeds, one of perch, the other of bass. I anchored by the smokestacks in ~24 feet of water and managed 3 bass before heading in over the 3' rollers. The next time we are gonna have to play in my boat, you have a talent for putting me on fish. Thanks. I apologize for not getting back to you, as you know we are busy with my mother-in-laws situation and that took my mind away from normal and expected social graces.

I think Mount Hope had a small tornado last night. Based on the damage, I think so. 400 meters from my house a monster willow, Salix alba trista, about 4 feet DBH (diameter breast height), was snapped like a twig in the opposite direction of lean. As one goes towards the center of town the damage is even worse. Our power was restored about 25 minutes ago. Have to admire the hard working line crews from Hydro One.

Go due south to Lake Erie. Search 10 - 24 feet deep water.

A nice day RELAXING on Lake O with Simon (pikeslayer)
HTHM replied to misfish's topic in General Discussion
Simon is a very hard person to not hit it off with. One of the true gentlemen that I know. -
That prop is easily repaired, and for less than the cost of a new one.

The seat is not high enough to give him the supports he needs.

No, the target species will be perch. I would not risk that exposure. He will remain on the floor between the aft and fore decks.

I am planning on taking an individual that is wheelchair bound out for a fishing excursion, his first ever, and am looking for advice on how best to secure his wheel chair in the boat. I have a couple of ideas, but would like to hear from others who may have done this before. The vessel is a ranger bass boat, any ideas?

From a time standpoint, 200 kms at 50 kph = 4 hours. If he has a fast enough boat. From a fuel standpoint, 200 kms at 13l/100 = ~$30 on fuel. In a boat at least $120. He won't save time or money so the answer is self-evident. Drive, don't boat.

Great minds think alike!

Use a long punch to get the remnants of the old cotter pin out. Or a finishing nail with the point ground off.

http://www.wellandtribune.ca/2013/07/04/3-killed-in-ontario-float-plane-crash WIARTON, Ont. - Three Sudbury-area men were killed Thursday afternoon when their amphibious airplane crashed in Georgian Bay as it came in to land at an airstrip on Griffith Island. "Witnesses saw the plane approaching and a short time afterwards they looked and the plane was in the water and police were contacted," Const. Alina Grelik of the Grey County OPP said at the dock in Big Bay. Police are not releasing the names of the victims pending notification of next of kin. Grelik said the men, aged 45, 52 and 72, were related. A coroner was at the scene on the southeast side of the 2,300-acre island at about 6:30 p.m. The Transportation Safety Board of Canada's air division is expected to arrive at Griffith Island on Friday. Grelik said police are unable to comment on the cause of the 1:30 p.m. crash. "We can't speculate. That's why the transportation safety bureau will be attending," she said. Police said the blue and white plane was upside down and partially submerged in the water about 200 metres from shore when they arrived on scene. The OPP's search and recovery marine unit was still on the water Thursday night. The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre out of Trenton, Ont., had dispatched a Hercules aircraft shortly after the crash. Witnesses on shore at Big Bay said the plane circled near the island for quite some time before leaving. All available resources were dispatched to the crash site, Grelik said. Three ambulances stood by near the Big Bay dock as police and other emergency personnel worked on the water for at least six hours. Several people were near the dock to watch as police boats shuttled officers to and from the island. A Griffith Island boat also took people to the island and brought back passengers who were carrying rifle cases. The island is home to a private sport shooting and hunting club. It features a lodge, 2,700-foot turf runway, private ferry service, lounge and gun room. People hunt pheasant, partridge, wild turkey and white tailed deer.

Go to a pawn shop and buy an inexpensive replacement.

My tether is attached to my auto-inflate, that way if I go overboard, the boat stops. Even at trolling speeds, you are unable to swim fast enough to catch your boat. Just a suggestion. And as Irishfield has pointed out, if your tether is long enough, you can move all over the boat and not trip the kill switch.

That explains why he did it, now doesn't it? "Every man for himself"...

As it would be a federal matter, not provincial, talk to the RCMP in Cornwall. Could make for an interesting conversation. The reason I say it is a federal matter, this would be one nation disputing territory rights with another nation.

Looking forward to this event again this year! ALWAYS a BLAST!!

If you do bring some back, I would suggest getting canners, they taste better than markets due to the fact that they are smaller.
