  1. Find a good divorce lawyer, He may end up giving you a monthly stipend....
  2. From Pikeslayer: Time for another update; BTW, this Friday (Sept 20) is Sean's 25th birthday. We'll be keeping it "low key" and hope to celebrate sometime down the road. That said, birthday cards would certainly brighten his days (and his room) so I would respectfully ask that everyone goes "20th Century", buy a card & a stamp, and drop the envelope in a mailbox (they're red & say Canada Post on them). Doesn't matter if it arrives late BTW. Address to; Sean Murphy c/o NRIO 1320 Woodeden Drive Mississauga, ON L5H 2T6 Sean has settled in quite well @ NRIO and continues to receive daily therapy and care from the awesome team @ the Mississauga Residence. Speech & Language Therapy focus is on primarily strengthening his swallowing process which uses the same muscles as the larynx/voice box. Hopefully Sean may regain speech sometime in the future. Physiotherapy is the other key focus in order to relieve muscular spasticity and Sean is receiving intense sessions 2-3 times per week. More Botox injections are scheduled in the coming weeks and this should help relax his upper body & arms. A new custom fitted wheelchair is scheduled to be delivered just after his birthday, so we will be able to get Sean out for neighborhood walks & fresh air. Although Sean has been @ NRIO for less than 3 months, we have seen measured progress and remain guardedly optimistic that he will continue to recover and are well prepared to remain patient for however long it may take. Thanks to everyone for the continued support, best wishes, prayers and visits with Sean.
  3. The same typewriter that wrote Mien Kampf could also be used to write To kill a Mockingbird. It is the operator of the tool, not the tool itself.
  4. You are over propped in my opinion, the motor should be able to reach max RPM otherwise it is working too hard. Drop an inch of pitch to gain ~300 rpm at max throttle.
  5. Two come to mind immediately: gunnels of your boat and/or your kitchen. That is what I do, refuse goes in the water or the green bin.
  6. Paging Mercman.....The best source for appliance advice on the board.
  7. Good thinking and deducting Simon. And yes, Kiera is cute, but my granddaughter is cuter in my opinion....

  10. I launched my boat for the first time since ruining and replacing the trailer axle with one that has electric brakes. I asked the supplier numerous times if that would be a trouble free system on my trailer, he assured me it would. Launch procedure, disconnect 7 prong plug, straps, transom saver, plug in, back boat to the water, disconnect bow hook, launch boat, and park vehicle. The retrieval is done with plug disconnected, boat is safely on the trailer and ready for the road. All lights work, brake controller giving proper readout, and down the road I go. Pull the boat approximately 20 minutes, and the brakes activate and will not shut off. I ended up cutting the power to the magnets to free up the wheels. After that was done I had constant parking lights even when the van lights and motor were off. The only way to turn off the lights was to disconnect the trailer plug. Any ideas? This was the day before the storm, I am going to be very busy for the next few days, in light of the upcoming funeral. I needed to take a break and reduce my stress level, this did not help.
  11. The way I see it, if you disagree with the decision either way, it is up to the courts to decide what the facts of the case are and assign blame/quilt to the appropriate parties. Wait for the trial's conclusion and then go off into your various rants regarding the case. It is now up to the judge and/or jury not us.
  12. I'm sorry that I caused you any distress, it was not my intent Wayne.
  13. It was surprisingly gentle, and pain free. Our family is happy that her 82 year journey is over and that she is with her God in glory right now. Thank you for the expressions of sympathy everyone.
  14. My mother in law has gone to glory last evening. Lung and brain cancer.
  15. Why can't you hear a pterodactyl urinate? The "P" is silent. I kill me...
  16. Well it turns out it was wired incorrectly and a short was the cause of the problem. Thanks to everyone for your advice and help.
  17. Not a Toyota mechanic, but I go nowhere else. The shop is very good and honest. 9731 Mechanical,Koning, John 9731 Dickenson Rd Mount Hope, ON L0R 1W0, Canada Phone: (905) 679-1968
  18. The only blued background I saw was the sky. Well done Simon on the guiding, and you on the fighting with the tyee!
  19. That's just not fair! I think you got the better catch, though. Congrats on both counts!
  20. I wired them with a three way splice from the plug, first into the left hand brake wiring and then into the wire that crosses over inside the axle. That wire was then connected to the right brake. WHat is happening now is: when the brakes are applied the fuse feeding the brake controller in the van keeps blowing. I cannot find the short.
  21. Well it is not a bad ground, the ground I out on the trailer would pass even Wayne's inspection. Same symptoms, dim light with brake pedal, no light with manual activation. And of course no braking either. Ideas?
  22. I think you may be right as the soldered connection is to a lighter gauge wire that is fastened to the trailer, however it is also connected to the vehicle ground via the seven prong plug. I'll take it apart and solder a thicker gauge wire to the ground connection and see if that fixes it. Back in 30. By the way all components are brand new. I blew a wheel bearing and had to replace the axle, so I decided to put brakes on it as I have a brake controller now.
  23. Thats just the thing Wayne, I push the controller as far as it will go and I get nothing. I just coast.
