Great report and pics Cliff!!!... and it's so sweet of you to keep letting Carole beat your eyes out like that. Hit'em Again Carole!!!

The best and quickest fix is to buy a new boat!!!... a little money down... a little money every month... you're happy... they're happy... everybody is happy!!!

OK, who's swingin' by to pick me up??? I'm dressed and waiting!

Looking for a batter or breading mixture for my fly-in
Greencoachdog replied to ssauvain's topic in General Discussion
All purpose flour in a gallon size zip-loc bag with garlic salt and pepper to taste, throw fillets or whole fish in and shake... deep fry until done... enjoy! -
How do they get those itty bitty fish to wear stockings???
-
I'll be there the Monday or Tuesday before and leaving Sunday. I'll be renting one of the cedar strips from Kevin and getting skunked as usual . I'll be staying with the Plumma brothers in the Southern Contingency Fortress! I've heard that we may be letting a Lilly white Hoser (TJSA) stay with us, if he'll show this time. I'm really looking forward to seeing everybody again and meeting new OFNCers. I often daydream about this at work.... being out on beautiful Lake Nippissing... not catching any fish... and coming back in and partying with all the great people of this board!!! Who could ask for anything more???... except to maybe catch a fish , but the fishin' is only part of it.

I voted for Catfish, but I don't really consider them a coarse fish. Some places around here even have creel and length limits for them. Hey Photoz, what's the creel and size limit for Swans up there???

Great report and pics!!!.... did you forget to turn your hat sideways when you hooked the big fish?

The Titanic sank because of a gash on it's side, not too much different than this one. Any name brand boat should be able to withstand a light chop or a heavy chop!!! This boat was damaged before it started leaking this time... I'll bet any amount of money that the "light chop" just broke the seal on the half-ass fix job that was used to sell the boat.

Boat plywood how much $$$ and where to get it
Greencoachdog replied to glen's topic in General Discussion
It all depends on how you want to do it... do you want to do it the right way?... or the half-ass cheap way? For Kiln dried boat deck/marine grade Pressure treated plywood, you should expect to pay somewhere in the neighborhood of $80/sheet. This is the ONLY pressure treated wood that is still allowed to use Arsenic... because the new ACQ and MCQ PT wood is highly corrosive to aluminum. Sure you can go to Home Depot and buy exterior grade CDX plywood and put that down and do it the half-ass cheap way... but don't expect it to last... and don't expect the carpet you put on it to last either, the oils in exterior grade plywood are notorious for degrading carpet. As to where to get it, contact a local boat dealership... if they don't have it or can't get it, they will know somebody that has it. It all depends on what you have and what you want. Do you have a little "el cheapo" 12 or 14' tinny that you or someone else has modified?... if so, you can go the CDX route... but don't expect it to last. Or do you have a fairly decent namebrand boat that you plan on keeping for awhile??? Have you ever heard the old saying "pay me now or pay me later? -
Can you say Titanic??? If I was going to have a nightmare about a crack in the hull of my boat, it would be one like that! I agree with Wayne, your hull was cracked when you bought it. If you'll open it up on the inside, I'm sure you'll find some kind of half-ass quick-fix job... probably silicone caulk or some such crap. You need professional help with this one.

Don't bother trying Leeches, because they don't work!

You shoulda put those little bait stealing turds on a 3/0 circle hook and threw thier little butts back in!

LMAO!!!! That report was a great read!... I've been caught in the Bermuda Triangle before and it's a very wierd place and ain't much fun. Been there done that with the new trolling motor, fished in circles for a couple of trips before I got the hang of it... but now I love it! I hope you have much better luck on your next trip!!!

Dammit man!!! Dont'cha know you can't mow the park and chop firewood right after surgery??? Take it easy and do what the Doc says, I know it's boring and there're things that need to be done... but they'll just have to wait! Seriously, Get Well Soon and I'm looking forward to seeing you at Lakair!!!

Great report and pics!!! I noticed that Bly's fish were bigger too, but I wasn't going to say anything. Whenever I take Ol' Yeller, she doesn't usually catch bigger fish than me... be she always gets on the board first and will bury me in numbers if I'm not careful!
-
Excellent report and pics Joe!!! Do they ever close the season on those Stripers up there? Or is it just a slot? I hope you were paying attention to the GPS numbers and methods!

Massage therapy eh?... does it work for groin pulls? ... but on second thought, if ART is goin' to be doin' the massagin'.... Seriously though, my left elbow has been givin' me the dickens for the past few weeks... may have to check into it! Trophymuskie Posted Today, 12:34 PM Naturally nothing around these parts. Would not drive an hour for any kind of treatment. there just isn't enough time in a day. If you aren't willing to drive for an hour for treatment... you're not hurting bad enough yet. Roy Posted Today, 11:11 AM Well, well, well...we've finally found a use for ole Art. Over the years I've carried a few women on my shoulders at the beach and it really has buggered my left shoulder....that last one was especially corpulent. Someone, please find me Art's phone number. For some reason I can't picture you carrying a corpulent woman on your shoulders on the beach... it's not that I don't believe you... I think it's some kind of a subconscious mental block on my part.

Daiichi's are the worlds sharpest hooks... don't leave home without them! ... and if you can ever get the technique down for using a circle hook, you'll never want to use anything else!
-
Don't go in there... there's all kinds of wierdos and creeps in there... I know... I was in there too!

I've actually found that Crappie bite better during low light conditions. Early morning, late afternoon, and at night... so you might do well on a cloudy rainy day.

That is exactly why I quit hunting 34 yrs. ago, 2 friends of mine invited me to go squirrel hunting with them... but I declined because I had a feeling that something wasn't right, even though I'd hunted with them before. Sure enough, when they returned... one had been shot by the other in the leg and foot. There hundreds of hunting accidents a year and you maybe the most careful hunter in the world... but there are thousands of idiots out there with loaded weapons... think about it!
