After the motor warms up it should run well!... if it doesn't, you probably need a tuneup!
-
For that kind of money I'd go with a Mustang floatation suit.
-
Train your dog to obey commands or keep her on a leash. ... and you wouldn't like the looks of your car, truck or ATV when you got back to it if I saw you killing someones pet!

Cliffs eyes are pretty... but I think Bly's are prettier! Glad to hear y'all are doing well Miss Bly! I figured y'all were busier than a couple one armed paper hangers! I can sympatthize with the being sick stuff, I had the pnuemonia 3 weeks ago and it feels like I'm trying to relapse Tell Cliff to sharpen up the auger blades, ice fishin' season is just around the corner!!!

Underwater cameras are great for ice fishing because the water clears due to no wind or rain mudding up the water after the ice forms, they also very good in very clear lakes... but!... for lakes that don't freeze over and aren't clear they're of little use. I bought one and have only used it a couple of times because the visibility on the lake I fish is never more than a foot or so and I can't see diddly!

I'm just waiting for both polar ice caps to melt completely!!!.. then I'll be the owner of beachfront property and catching big Bull Redfish on my fenceline at high tide!!!

Looking good Jacques!!! What would you call the black and chartreuse paint job?... chartreuse skunk? I like the black with the white polka-freckles too! -
It's days like that that make you appreciate the days where everything goes smoothly Cudz! I kinda had to snicker a little about the kill switch... I've done that one before! As far as the kerplunk in the water... have you seen your cell phone lately?

Whenever I have to travel with fish I field dress them when the catching is done. First I scale them, then I gut them. When I gut them, I slit open the belly starting at the anal vent and cut all the way to the little connective cartlige holds the belly and gills together, then I cut that cartlige and run the knife around the gills on each side of the fish. Then I grab the gill structure and give a good pull and guts and gills come out together. This method leaves the head on the fish, and they keep much better that way. There's also no question of how many and what kind of fish you have if you're stopped by the game warden on the way home! After a fish is field dressed I throw it in a coolerthat has a layer of ice in the bottom (you could use snow), after all the fish are dressed I cover them with ice and put a pound or 2 of rock salt on the ice (you could skip the rock salt and just use more snow). Keeping fish cold will reduce the stench! When I get the fish home all I have to do is fillet and skin them and don't have to worry about disposing guts and scales! I leave all of the fish in the cooler and pull them out one at a time to fillet them... this reduces the stench as well.

bitsmith & headhunter quinte report.
Greencoachdog replied to Bitsmith2k's topic in General Discussion
Excellent report, pics, and fish Smitty!!! It looks like you and Joe had a very romantic weekend... with the fish!!! Very informative post Joe! The info on changing the speed was a great tip!!! So many people are set in their ways/stubborn and won't vary from what is thought to be the "norm"... little differences like that can really be the key sometimes! -
That's almost as bad as this:
-
That sounds like a lot of fun, and those are some pretty nice looking fish!!!

A Few Days on the Bay of Quinte

HA!!!... If Chris is a West Arm guide, I want my dang money back!!! What kind of a guide gets a hook thru the finger while he's trying to land your "in the slot" Wall-ice??? ... just kidding Chris ... I told you not to touch my Sabiki rig!!! I have a few friends that are guides... but honestly, I didn't know they couldn't be my friends if they were guides! The most notable being Ian McKenzie (I think he's the 3rd McKenzie brother to Doug and Bob) of Reelmaccoy.com fishing charters in Cold Lake Alberta. He put me and some of the wifes kin on a most memorable day of reeling in some of the finest Lake Troot I've ever seen in person or in pictures while trolling!!! ... but at the end of the day when he started Bull'n me and blowin' smoke up my butt by telling me " You guys caught a lot of nice fish today"... I told him real quick "we didn't catch diddley squat"!!!... all we did was reel in your fish for you!!!... he looked me straight in my eye and I looked him straight in his and he just busted out laughing!... it was the truth and he knew I knew it!!! Trolling... it is all the skill of the captain/guide!!!... sure you have to fight the fish when it's your turn on the rod... but how much skill does it take to land a "dirty wet diaper"(cold water Walleye)??? Trolling with a guide is one of the easiest ways to catch fish there is!!!... heck!.. even women and small children can do it!!!... all you have to do is wait for "your turn" on the rod! Casting, jigging, and bottom fishing require a bit more skill... but are generally looked down upon by your run of the mill slackard type trolling charter fisherman!!! -

Great report and pics Mike! You do look a little silly in the Shimano hat pic, but it adds character to the report! Fishing is always slow on the BOQ in November unless you can prefish it for a couple of weeks... or hire a guide. Looks like everyone had a great time... and that's what really counts!!! Thanks for taking the time to post!!! -
Time to catch another one eh! RICK!... get the net ready!
-
I use those and like them much better than the bullet weights, painting them sounds like a good thing to do on a long cold Canadian night!
-
HA!!!... how did I know this was going to happen?!!! Congrats on the Hugh Jass Wall-ice Jewel!!! ... you need to hang with that Rick boy, a good net man is hard to find yanno! Looks like we have the makings for another dynamic duo!
-
Tsk tsk tsk!!!.. you don't have time to go to the BOQ G2G with friends and relatives, but you have plenty of time to futz around in the deer woods with trespassers??? .. you are one sick puppy dude!!! I guess there are more excuses for not killing Bambi than there are for not catching a fish eh?!!! ... I'm thinking that in a year or 2 you will spend the rest of your life in the house with the heater or air conditioner running!
-
Hey Rick!... don't forget the Egyptian Princess and Tammy Faye Baker Jumla's!!!
-
How to skin a Burbit eh! Mmmmmmmmmmmm!!!... fresh Burbit! The same exact way I skin and fillet a Catfish!!! ... except I use these! http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/template...=0053579014941a ... much better than regular pliers for skinning scaleless fish!!!
-
Oh please do Jewel!!! I want you should whip him real good!!! Take the camera for evidence!

4" Spook - Another 24 on the GO - UPDATED PICS
Greencoachdog replied to Leecher's topic in General Discussion
Well I recieved a limited edition Signature Series Leechman Spook in the mail a couple days ago and was very impressed!!! These things are a labor of love and a work of art let me tell ya!!! It arrived in it's own handmade shipping crate! Even the shipping crate was signed!!! When I opened it up, my eyes fell upon a thing of beauty!!! I can hardly wait for the water to warm up next spring so I can catch a fish with it... but I'm going to try it out the next time I'm on the water, even if I don't catch a fish! Thanks a million Bubba Jacques ol' buddy!!!.. I owe you one!!! -
crank baits still effective in fall weather?
Greencoachdog replied to sandmann's topic in General Discussion
You might catch one or 2 fish with a cranbait, but they'll be few and far between if you're targeting Bass. An X Rap with long pauses would be a better choice... But!... there is one bait that is overlooked and really shines at this time of year... It's the vibrating blade bait!, like the Cicada and others. Here's a link with some tips. http://fishsenselures.com/fish_sense_lures_how_to.htm
