  1. Hey all, found a little spot near my house whee the suckers are still pretty thick. I decided to head down for a bit after work and have some fun. At this point I just wanted to get rid of my skunk streak which has lasted months! The action was great. Just used worms and caught every couple of minutes. Gotta love the fight of a sucker on an ultralight with 4 pound test. Ended up catching 16 in about an hour. All fished were released. Here's a couple of pics.
  2. Is your pm box full yet? LOL!
  3. Great stuff. I always love fishing when I go to Greece. I have a great spot near my village. Very simple tackle and cut bait is the way to go over there.
  4. CCMT--> How do you find the castable fish finder? I was looking at getting one since it seems useful for shore fishing.
  5. The island sounds like a pretty good idea as it isn't that crowded and even has lots of room for BBQ's and such.
  6. Hamilton is a little far for me as I live in Scarborough.
  7. I'd be interested in this. As long as it's not the weekend of the walleye opener. Whate would be the times for this? Port Credit seems like a good location.
  8. I don't think the thread starter was looking for anyone to give away there secret Honey Holes. I think just listing some well known areas that some newbies can get into fish such as listed above is what he was looking for. I'll start. The mouth of the Rouge River is always a good spot to catch Carp, Bullheads, Some bass and Pike in the spring. Also in the Fall you can catch Salmon there.
  9. I remember someone posted some instructions on how to make those with paperclips. I'll try to dig them up.
  10. It's not a cold front so I don't think the rain should be a problem as temperatures should be warmer then we have been having.
  11. Good stuff CCMT! Can't wait to go carp fishing this year!
  12. It's all one section to me. I just click the new posts icon
  13. Really good write-up Raf! Thanks.
  14. Love fishing for suckers on Ultralight gear. Hard to fish for them out east here though because most places are closed.
  15. How well do frozen smelts stay on the hook? I'd like to use them for pike when season opens.
  16. I live in the city and it still takes me an hour to get to work
  17. That's because no one wants to fish near you. Hope this helps.
  18. The nerve of people trying to enjoy a day of fishing.
  19. I'll be there sunday
  20. Always a fan of a shad runner/crankbait
  21. The latest cold snap froze up most spots pretty good. Some Marina's have warm water pumps near the boat launches which might be open. But with this cold weather not sure how active the pike will be.
  22. What are your favorite tactics for spring Pike? I'm going to be using Smelts either fished on the bottom or under a float. I heard that works well. Also heard Rapala Countdowns are pretty good for cold water.
