  1. Good job! How far out were you? Were the pike in a little closer or still staging deep?
  2. Very well said!
  3. Simple solution....If someone is poaching, call the police or MNR and take a description, licence number and/or pictures. It is never advisable to take the law into their own hands. Anyone who condones beating up a 73 old man needs to give their head a shake.
  4. If you get him to write gift on the box your duties and taxes are not charged. Not that I'm advocating that sort of thing
  5. You could try reelfishingdeals.com he usually has some decent prices. Even better with the exchange now.
  6. pot meet kettle
  7. Man I love that show! Can't wait for the new season to come out.
  8. That's awesome Lew, well done!
  9. For Crying out loud, I've been hearing so many horror stories about what goes on at Bronte. How hard is it to station a couple of CO's down their during the salmon run?! Very frustrating.
  10. Good stuff CCMT! We also rented from Island Marina but didn't have much luck that day. They are a very nice couple that owns it and we would rent from them again.
  11. The best lure you have is your brain. A smart fisherman knows what lures to use on what days and in what conditions.
  12. Hey all, Heading up to PIne Vista resort in a couple of weeks for some walley (maybe a muskie). Really looking forward to it as I've never been fall walleye fishing or to Stony before(heard it's awesome). We reserved the bassboat at the resort. Anyone been up there before? How's the resort and cottages? Is the fishing good at that area of the lake?
  13. WOW! Sweet deal! I've been dying for one of those. Have to save my pennies
  14. Want to trade?
  15. 007 I found out myself that the islands can be frustrating but also very rewarding I think night time would be better to catch the carp because they would be less spooked...But don't miss the last ferry!
  16. LOL. I was thinking of grabbing one of those battery powered ones. I have a rapala stone sharpener but have no idea how to use it and it looks like more trouble then it's worth
  17. I got skunked again. I need to set the hook harder as I had one on but after a few jumps it threw the hook.
  18. Hey all, Couple of questions here not related to each other but I didn't want to start 2 threads. 1. I'm an avid reader and was wondering if anyone had some book recommendation for books on freshwater fishing. Could be any species as long as it is informative. 2. When the bows and Browns start staging in late october, do you still fish for them at the piers with 3/4 oz cleos or do you downsize? Do you even fish at the piers with Cleos or use Roe or another bait/lure (Don't see how roe would be effective in a pier or large bay situation but I could be wrong). Thanks for the help guys.
  19. Good stuff! Can't wait until the Monsters come into the Harbours....Almost time!
  20. LOL! I'm changing my report, I actually caught 10 bass, 5 Pike and a Salmon.
  21. I ended up catching the centre Island Ferry and walking from there. Next time I need to bring over a bike, it would be a lot easier.
  22. That's why they are so much fun to fish for
  23. Took the day off to enjoy the weather and do some fishing at the islands. I've never fished the islands so I expected a long day of walking and wasn't sure what I would catch. I packed my backpack and took a couple of spinner rods and off I went. Started out fishing the harbour for a half hour while I waited for my ferry, nothing much was taking but I didn't have that much time. Headed over in the ferry and started walking. Found some boat docks and decided to start my day there. Flipped jigs under the docks, caught a couple perch but nothing to write home about. Noticed alot of small largemouth bass and was hoping that their mother's were nearby Started working a spinner bait off a bigger dock and immediately had a pike hit. Brought it in after a quick fight, turned on my camera and noticed my batteries were dead...DAMN! Let the pike go (Just a small jack pike) and cursed my luck. Started walking again and found some green weeds under an overhung tree...BANG! Big largemouth, brought it in and it was about 3 pounds. That was about it for the rest of the day as it's hard to find places that hold fish when it's your first time there due to the size. I've found a couple places that I will try next time. Also noticed a lot of Carp which I'd like to come back for.
