Can anyone tell me if they are open sunday's. I'll call tomorrow but looking to try and plan the day out with some morning fishing but have to take my wife's car inot the shop sometime tomorrow

Awesome, glad to see hard work pay off. That left front tine looks wicked and the mass shows well in the shots, can only imagine what it looks like live. Really nice buck!! I haven't even bought my deer license this year. My buds finished this week up north with 1 nice buck and I was hoping to egt out to scout around my brothers place by Hamilton but the geese hunters have been a pain and his wife is a bit anti hunting right now.

Headed up to Radioworld this morning to spend some money that was burning a whole in my pocket. Had recently picked up an HB 1197 SI and was looking for the right Great Lakes Chip. Had my eye on the Platinum Plus map with Fish N Chips for Eastern Great Lakes as I don't think I'd ever need anything for Lake Superior. Well when asked what unit I had the sales rep pulled the tech guy out of the back and they took the demo card for the Platinum Plus and went over to the display units. They tried for a few minutes to get the Fish n Chips map up on the Bird but to no avail!!!! The Platinum PLus map only shows the standard depth and does not allow you to load manually or select the Fish n Chip mode. They took the card out and plugged it right into the HDS8 beside it and boom! the Lowrance unit auto loads the Fish N chips charts when you zoom in past a certain point. The Radioworld sales guy turns to the tech and says - see I told you so! The Fish N Chips maps will only work in a bird if it's not part of a Platinum plus map(?) I guess so as they put the Platinum chip back and handed me the Fish N Chip only map. Got home tonight and did load it in the bird. Like the detail and found some nnice ridges out in front of Hamilton harbor that might be worth checking out this summer. Also scrolled up to see some wicked shoal structure in Lake Superior. Just thought I'd let you know as I had never heard about this and was kinda peeved. Oh well saved me a $100 bucks.

Still one of my biggest smallies came from the drift right at the ice breakers at Erindale Park just after they put them in probably 1984-5 ish. I fished that river all summer long for smallies and would get a couple steelhead each trip and then hard at it again come NOvember. That's when the browns and cohos would hammer clown colored hot shots and #4 colorado blades till your arms hurt. Only lived 15 minutes away and still has good memories when I cross Burnhamthorpe or Dundas bridge. Got chased out of the Mississauga Golf course more than a few times. Smallie fishing down through there was awesome in the summer

Built these over a case of beer, a tub of 3" deck screws, a bottle of wood glue and my mitre saw. Probably cost me no more than $100 in 2x4's for both benches and one small sheet of plywood to cut the cross braces. These are heavy enough to take a big load, solid as a rock but if I ever move they'll be coming with me. This one has 2 2x electical plugs wired in front that go back and plug into wall outlets behind the bench Gotta have loads of storage underneath for all the toys

Where'd you go in michigan. looking for something different to do as well and would like to get some more info

Pinks on superior Fishing has been OK last few years for the small amount of time I get out but not really seeing that one big fish or that one day were quality and numbers come to gether. I had a few days on Lake O this year that were high double digits but all shaker size I really want one of those stupid fish days again on either Erie, Niagara or Quinte. Hasn't happened in a while for me. You know, that "you should have been here yesterday" bite!!!

Saturday was tough. Was out testing out my buddies(FamilyGuy) new to him Ranger 621 (picked it up in Michigan on Thankgiving). What a sweet ride. I can't get in my crestliner again after fishing in that passenger liner for the day!!! We got a late start and hit Picton boat ramp around 10 am. Fished till dark and managed to go 2 for 3. Met up with some old buds at the ramp GMAN (Gavin) and found it was a slow day for the pros too, early bite and slow the rest of the day. Talked to several who blanked and a few guys had 2/3/4 fish for all day. Highl;ight of the trip was this surprise. Hit a Taildancer right after Rob pulled the planer board off the line. What a rip it toook and then peeled off a ton of line, jumped 2-3 times way back. We both said alomost at the same time - That ain't no Walleye. Nice male around 12-13. It was twisted when he was holding it, really thick and deep fish

In side shallow bite in the fall is a tight early morning window. I fish Oakville and my fall (post Sept 1st) program is to set up in 180, watch the graph, spread the lines down to 60 ft deep and start searching out to deeper water. Off 16 mile in Sept/Oct 180-220 is kind of the magic zone. There's a decent mix of bows and 3 year olds and shakers of all species. I find once we get a few cold nights its a smaller spoon program and 1.9-2.4 MPH best speed range. Have been itching myself to get out so maybe a Sunday run is in order. Same here, sitting in the front row of the gym of Sherway Park Public school in Mississauga, watching it on TV. I was in Grade 2 and was wearing a homemade Paul Henderson #19 Team Canada jersey my mom made me. My all time favorite Leaf growing up. I had a ton of Henderson stuff signed sitting in my room. We used to go down to practices and wait out in the hall to get stuff signed. I remember being all bummed out one time when henderson didn't come out and I had to get Ellis, Keon and Jim McKenny's autograph. I'm all grown up now but came home today and pulled out my autographed Paul Henderson replica jersey I bought a few years ago and gat it a pat. Just watched it again on you tube and got goosebumps There will never be another series to compare with that Esposito's meltdown interview after loosing game 4 (i think in vancouver) JP Parise talking a swing at the ref with his stick Eagleson being rescued from the Russian police and giving the crowd the finger Clarke breaking Kharlomov's ankle with a slash And the 2 prettiest goals 1 by Henderson to win game 7 and 1 by Pete Mahovolich Yes it was just like yesterday

The wife and I were driving around last weekend and went by Direct Buy in mississauga. Decided to check it out as we are doing a basement reno. Had to schedule a one on one visit before being allowed to see any of the goods. Right there it started to smell fishy. Well tonight I get a full on pressure phone call to set a time to come in and go through an hour and a half orientation THAT WILL SAVE ME HUNDREDS OF $. After being interrupted several times telling her I'm too busy to spend a whole evening without any evidence of their pricing offer she basically insults me for not being smart enough to realize what a great deal I'm missing. Boy I really want to call back and book my appointment. What a great sales pitch! I wonder if I could sign up for a time share with them

Pretty good deal here $49.97 and the other day I got one for $3 shipping on orders over $125 Extreme Reel Deal I use several of these still for pitchin and flipping. Never felt the need to replace them with higher $ reels

Percy Reach by Campbellford What an amazing bass, pike, musky and panfish body of water in through the 80's. I'll always remember the spring crappie trips and miles of bass slop. Unfortunately due to over harvest the panfish population crashed and thus the bigger fish populations dropped. I've been on several trips over the last few years, praying for a comeback but to no avail.

Always used the Plano trays but with a modification to prevent the slippage under the dividers. Set the tray up as you want it and then silicone (I use Goop) the edges of each divider and slip back into place. I also like to drill a few very small holes in the bottom and lid so the box breaths better and prevents some rust build up. For my worm harness supplies I use the tube shown above for tied snell rigs and have had great success using a 6x6" tackle wallet to store beads, floats,blades, extra hooks for bottom bouncing.

No advantage what so ever. Like I said definitely expect to loose more fish!! Just a different way to play a fish. 99% of the time I run my line counters when downrigging but usually have the light fly rod tucked in the rod locker for a change of pace. It is a hoot when the bows are up high.

Been playing with a large arbor fly reel for a number of years out there. They pretty much do the same thing as long as you get one with a good dial drag. My first outfit was a Fenwick 9 wt glass flyrod matched up with a Shakespeare Beaulite reel (250 yards of 17 lb). It's fun for sure but you will loose a few more fish. Single action reels just won't keep up when a big king or bow runs towards the boat. I tend to run this set up a couple times a year out in the blue zone. I've got a Pflueger Trion 1978 now and it took a few bows this season on a 9.5ft 7 weight fly rod. I'm planning to take out my baitrunner reels that I use for Carp and see how they work.

For a laugh I went down to bronte peir last Friday night around 8. It was just getting dark and the zoo was in full swing - loads of guys out on the pier and fishing the wall inside. Honestly you couldn't pay me enough to get back out there. I live close and pick and choose my spots when it's quiet through the week. Weekends are nuts. The funniest part was the guys that were picking the beach for firewood to take back on the peir. I guess they were planning to spend the night.

Hopefully you've been into cross before. If not pay very special attention as Temagami has some nasty shoals down that end of the lake. In cross pay special attention to areas were you find weeds. I've been fishing Temagami for 25 years now and this was the first year I didn't make the trip up in the summer (work sucks!!!). Smallies love the small senkos. I look for deeper sloping shorelines with wood and rock. This water will hold the numbers. Like smally says if you find some rock structure or bluff cliffs that get into deeper water 20+ fish it with jigs tipped with worms or minnows. There's tons of good water in there. I like to work defined points and have success trolling worm harnesses on bottom bouncer rigs around these for walleyes. 20ft +/- 5 ft is best to start and let the fish tell you if they are shallow or deeper. Smallies- chug bugs, pop r's, bomber cranks, senkos 3/4", x raps are good Walleyeye - troll worm harnesses to find them, then gulp leaches tipped with a worm Pike - will hit anything up there Lakers - 60+ feet of water and look for some structure, jig 3/4 - 1 oz crippled herring, swedish pimples or the like have a great time

Best to store any plastics in the bag they came in. Most bass fishermen have tales of wierd color or chem reactions when mixing plastic baits. I bought several of those bags at princess auto but only used them for spinner and worm harness rigs. Everything is still good so far.

You should be able to remove the cranking assemblies. I have windows like that out front and they started to get tough to open. Remove the two screws and the handle system should be able to pull out (at least mine did). The gears inside were all corroded and Home depot sold me the replacement set. I seem to remember thay had a couple different crank systems to choose from.

Was just looking at the TX super planer boards at JB's. These are designed to haul a load up to 1 lbs for lead core and divers. I've noticed my offshores perfrom best when trolling a slower speeds and lighter lures. Might be giving these a try in the fall as I want to pick up a second set

Start off with a heavier weight too. Take a larger jig +1/2 oz and cut the hook point off. Add a plastic trailer and practice with that on dry land. To start off pick targets that are 10-15 feet away and get the feel down with your thumb letting pressure off the spool and then back on to slow the lure right at point of impact. Get this down and then move back a few steps. I walk around my backyard all the time pitching into the garden, under lawn chairs and for a tough pitch try and get it under the BBQ.
