  1. The Coleman Extreme are my choice, definitely cheaper and do hold ice a long time. Had a small block of dry ice in one that lasted over a week.
  2. Cheaper alternative, although to really get the benefits of syn oil, you may as well go the distance. I use the 100% stuff in my car and truck, once a year oil change for the truck, car gets a filter change half way and a top up. Nothing has blown up or burns oil. I had an old 91 Jetta that was treated the same way, passed air ever other year clean test pretty much at factory spec.
  3. Somebody needs a serious case of butt whoopin, broken fingers so bad they won't even be able to pick their own nose. Damm that sucks.
  4. 78 Diesel rabbit with a lot of miles, had to replace the oil pan gasket, no sludge or build up anywhere, upper engine just as clean. Synthetic since then on everything.
  5. Each area of the country has it's abundant species and other areas completely different. For the more southerly areas, walleye are the favourite for consuming, while the bass, pike and musky for water thrashing excitement. Anglers are starting to consume more bass and pike just to give the others a chance to rebound. I know my father in law loves the trout, Chicoutimi resident, right across the road on the Saguenay, just before St Jean Eudes. My brother in law runs a Pourvoirie up in Mont Valin, outstanding area for fishing the trout.
  6. Been playing with the fire since 1978, nothings blown up or worn out other than the naysayers.
  7. Unfortunately there's a lot of rumours around, this is a common one. Mixing synthetic may not be recomended, however things do not blow up.
  8. Cabelas does not make oil, it's rebranded from some other company. Do some googling and then go buy the appropriate amsoil synthetic, either for premix or injector.
  9. No speeding...good luck
  10. I've got the Elite 5 HDI in the boat, works very well and it does have the flasher mode if you're so inclined. They have come down quite a bit in price.
  11. Now go back and ask to have them deleted. One of the MODs will do that and then send you the bill.
  12. It's unfortunate yours is the 4X, X means no GPS/Map. If you went with this one, it would be all in one. I don't know if it has a flasher mode for ice fishing. http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Fishfinder-Chartplotter/Elite-4-CHIRP-en-us.aspx
  13. He'll need another Toon just to haul that one around...
  14. There's a whole bunch of acronyms for the old moniker, maybe something to do with a company.
  15. Never thought of tooth picking the chunks for smoking, good idea.
  16. Never fails, it's cloudy with showers.
  17. I would have written down the boat number, put my motor in gear and left and waved at them with one finger, the middle one in particular. Why hang around and suffer abuse at the lips of loogans.
  18. If you have a TA Appliance in your area or go to the big BBQ shop just off the 400 by highway 7. Either will have the parts to make that one function for many more years. I hate throwing away stuff when it can be fixed.
  19. If you are operating a pleasure craft that is licensed, registered or titled in a country outside Canada, you must comply with the safety equipment requirements of the country in which the vessel is registered or licensed. Foreign visitors operating a Canadian licensed or registered vessel must comply with Canadian regulations. So if you're bring your boat across the border, go with your state regs. If you operate a Canadian licenced/reg'd boat, follow our rules.
  20. Only says a water tight flashlight, no mention of floating although it would sure be a good idea.
  21. Sometimes it's extremely hard to put words in the right order, sorry for your familys loss.
  22. I tried one of those a couple years ago, claimed it could move 5000lbs. Maybe downhill with a stiff breeze on pavement. As soon as it hit grass or the slightest bit of an up incline, forgetaboutit.
  23. Like putting air in a leaky tire.
  24. Yes, I do own an ATV, however river/creek riding is verboten. Had an incident a while back where they caught a bunch going up/down the Mad river, MNR caught wind of that cuz the dumb butts posted it. Major can of whoop exploded.
