  1. Here's a couple more versions: www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=92011.0 and www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=16435.0 same sort of idea.
  2. Stoty, you must have missed my earlier post, I looked at those about a week ago, the red ones, take a real hard inspection, look at the seams, pretty shoddy sewing, then lift up a corner of the sled, pretty floppy. then crawl in unless your two foot 24, they are pretty low.
  3. How about your Gortex rainsuit, after all it's water in another state.
  4. Just looked on TWN, it's not over yet, much more coming by the end of the week. Went snowmobiling at work today, it's to the point that it's becoming a PITA, snow keeps flying over the windshield it's so deep. Definitely not good for making ice.
  5. And here my teacher has been wrong all this time, he said all days are the same, just daylight hours change. Hot water heater anyone..
  6. Where's the "Make Butt smaller" button?
  7. Go by an Ariens and you probably will never get to see Big Cliff on a professional basis, mines 40 years old this year, inherited from Dad, stil runs like a charm, may have to change an axle bearing thios year, darn, 40 years, 3 belts, 2 mufflers and a tire tube. NOT made in China. We use John Deere at work, with a couple of the klutz's we have driving them they are holding up well too.
  8. There is a guy in Orillia, "Rocky's", don't know if that twigs anyones memory, but he does them for a reasonable price, shipping included.
  9. If you have the chance or opportunity, take a sniff of the neck meat on a doe and buck, there is a marked difference, and that's the hormones.
  10. Like a couple others have said, the deer in Europe are no where near the size of those in North Am. As for those naysayers, maybe FNA can call you out to a few of the more gruesome accident scenes.
  11. $399+tax at BPro when the are in stock, I'm waiting for more to come. Comes with the seat and travel cover.
  12. Yes, although I do also believe that nature can and does keep itself in check. From year to year you can see the population rise and fall, good years when food is plentiful, they expand, have a bad winter two and they die off. 6-7 years ago they were all over the place, this last year there were a handful around. If you take too many out of the equation, then the other critter become more prevalent. Now if we could train the coyotes to visit Jane & Finch...
  13. Tourtiere, made with beef, pork and deer. And no, I'm not a grenouille, just payed attention when the MIL made it.
  14. Maybe it's cause I live out of the city and live around a lot of conservationists or hunters that don't see the need to play the almighty. I can see if the farmers have problems with their livestock, I have no problem in them protecting that. As for not questioning YOU, I'll leave it at that and go watch some nature in action while there's still some left.
  15. Don't now how accurate they are but, the Barrie A Channel mentioned a possibility of up to 50cm of snow between Friday-Sunday, if that comes down, it will sink the ice and then have nothing but slush.
  16. They make people repellant in the same calibers, why do ya have to shoot up everything in nature just cause it doesn't suit your purpose. If it wasn't for some of those species there'd be a lot more vermin running around. Actually maybe vermin just a little higher on the food chain come to think of it.
  17. I think the lack of rabbits is also due to the natural 7-11 year cycle, I've only seen one set in the woods this winter, other than the little cottontail that hangs around the neighbourhood.
  18. They are definitely nice huts, went to BPro this evening to get the mid sized one, all sold out except for the floor model, supposed to have a few more coming in the next while. The bench seat is a little higher than some of the other swivel seat models, feels better on the back for me.
  19. The last thing I'd be worried about is Santa getting squished in the back of the sleigh by the tremendous force of acceleration, I'd be more worried about them reindeer turds on blastoff.
  20. Yes, the hanging part is fairly important, I've got one that just went up on the hoist last night, barring any great temperature fluctuation upward, it will stay there for 2 weeks, about 3-5 degrees in the garage, once it starts getting floppy, time to slice & dice.
  21. Sorry, but 45 mph in complete darkness, Dr. Phil has an expression, what were ya'll thinkin. That's lookin for trouble.
  22. The only kind of wood that wouldn't be wood is a woody.
  23. Hmm, I think you left out the important part of where you get suckkered in by pop-ups and when you click on them, you are redirected to other sites that will then harvest your info.
  24. Well he definitely sounds better than Russell Cashman Oliver, I give you Snowshoes for your cash, YAH! Could you strap a few on the Auger Bunnies from the post above
  25. If the buck is harvested prior to rut, say first couple weeks of October, then it's not too bad, once past that that, they taste like Then again unless you have only ever consumed buck, maybe the tastebuds don't know. Even the smell of the of the cooking odour can knock you off.
