  1. If the winch strap snaps, that's what the secondary chain and hook are for. If the boat slid forward on the trailer through his rear window, I'd suspect cheesy rear tie downs or none at all.
  2. I think their best before date is probably calculated with algorithms relating to people puttering about to the ones that launch and go full throttle 3 feet past the dock and pound 4 foot waves. Mines a '96 and no leaks either, but, I'm of the belief that if you want to wreak it, it can be done on your own dime.
  3. Did you have a banana hidden in your lunch pack, lol.
  4. The last think you want to do is put a lot of water inside the boat, boats are made to keep water out, not in. The stress is a whole lot more.
  5. First you go to Google and type in the question, then you find a whole bunch of these like in the attached link. https://www.ontario.ca/page/register-security-interest-or-search-lien-access-now
  6. Neither of them, rollers of any type only give you a small "footprint" to hold up the boat where as the bunks is a lot more square inches. I know my princecraft dealer told me to avoid them for that reason. Now with fibreglass boats, I don't know.
  7. Yes and yes. I've had mine (Glydesliks) on my bunks for about 15 years and they're still holding up well. As much as it makes unloading easier, it's even more so on the retrieve, no need for Popeye arms. Would I do it again, yes. Would I do rollers, never.
  8. 28 ft/lb for mine.
  9. Princess Auto carries them in packs of 9 for a ridiculous cheap price of $4.99.

  11. 1967, not quite 13 years old and I won a .25c bet that they would win. That was my last bet. But one thing for sure, you can say the Leafs didn't disappoint us, lost again, why break a streak. Can't believe people still pay ridiculous prices for losers.
  12. And then there was the adventure with You,Gary, Mark Cullum, me and maybe someone else, the freezing rain trip, you had to put marks old Elan(he got from you) onto the toboggan and pull it with your new one all the way from mountain lake back to the parking lot by the Anderson building. Stuff we did, some people wouldn't believe it. The days of no cell phones and wives wondering where we were.
  13. I remember that story about the brakes being seized on the one side. That one was a rotten bugger with the roll pins on the axles, when one goes, sooner or later they all snap and the front ones were a miserable piece of work to get out. When I got my Bigfoot they had gone to splined axles, one less thing to worry about.
  14. How nice to have the silence encourage you to fix it, probably saved you a $100 or more.
  15. Unfortunately they didn't have anyone in the area.
  16. I'll bet that less than a few percent of poachers ever get caught and how many of that small number get a wallet busting fine and do it again anyway. We used to see a particular group on Simcoe that would make repeated trips back to the car on shore with whities and then go get more. Unfortunately no CO's around to deal with it.
  17. Almost unstuck-able, but if you try it can be done.
  18. To what I can see on the maps and MNRF sites it's inside zone 11. https://www.ontario.ca/document/ontario-fishing-regulations-summary/fisheries-management-zone-11 and https://www.google.com/maps/place/Wolseley+Bay+Rd,+Ontario+P0M+2N0/@46.0125269,-80.2817668,9.5z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x4d29357ee881cf45:0x66400af76fc72329!8m2!3d46.1050905!4d-80.2749375 There are also slot sizes and possession limits differences. http://French River and French River Provincial Park - waters lying south of the Five Finger Rapids, and west of the Chaudière Dam downstream to the Highway 69 bridge including Wolseley Bay, the North Channel of the French River, 18 Mile Bay, Ranger Bay and Dry Pine Bay to the Highway 607 Bridge Largemouth and smallmouth bass combined: S-4 and C-2; none between 33-43 cm, not more than 1 greater than 43 cm
  19. This is awesome and I'd like to shake the Judge's hand. http://todaysnorthumberland.ca/2021/05/21/9000-in-fines-fishing-licence-suspensions-and-a-loss-of-fishing-gear-imposed-for-poaching-fish-on-rice-lake/
  20. I feel your pain, 3 full days to order and pick up 2 jugs of oil from CTC, never again. Clowns running the asylum. Princess Auto was a phone call and said come by in about an hour, I did and it was ready.
  21. Most solar panels are 12volt or slightly more, a 10 watt panel even under the most idea conditions of full sunlight with the panel angled perpendicular to the sun will give you about .5 amp or 500mW. A 50 watt panel 50/12 will give you maybe 3 too 3.5 amps at best. Now you can see why I said you'll be towing a raft covered with panels. Even a cheap 500 watt genny with a battery charger will do a much faster job regardless of sun conditions.
  22. You're almost mean, but I'd like to see that trick.
  23. For solar to be effective, you would have to tow another raft behind you covered with 150 watt panels.
  24. Ski masks work well too.
  25. Make sure the friction device is not too loose, all of a sudden if you let go you will go for a loop.
