  1. Ha, no sweat, I live here and absolutely hate the Essa pass. I don't even fish there anymore. I can see maybe paying a few dollars for parking at IBP, the daily amount they make there on weekends can easily offset the cost for snow removal and a bit of garbage disposal. $10 a day is a bit much if you get lucky and have a 2 day fishing weekend. Even worse they only make you pay early in the morning, it seems the late crowd gets in free.
  2. As soon as you remove the boat from the water, make sure the motor is tilted straight down, it will let the water run out of the water pump(impeller). If you have a livewell, make sure it's drained or don't use it in the cold. If it's a small motor, see if you can bring it inside, upright on a rack.
  3. One of the more inspiring posts to get people to reflect and go see friends and relatives that should not be discarded or forgotten in lifes journey.
  4. I think you hit that one pretty much square on. I don't suppose any testing has been done yet in the northern waters.
  5. Nope, from the MTO website, last line: Vehicle Information A two-up ATV is a type of off-road vehicle that has four wheels, steering handlebars, a driver’s seat and a passenger seat directly behind the driver. Note: a single rider ATV that has been modified to carry a passenger by installing an after-market seat and foot pegs is not considered to be a two-up ATV. A two-up ATV must be registered and display a rear licence plate. It must also be insured under a motor vehicle liability policy. A two-up ATV is prohibited from provincial highways and municipal roads, even if the driver is not carrying a passenger.
  6. Well if you see the same guy cleaning fish every night, there's the option of calling the MNR. I would rather see the present C&R zone become a no fish zone outright. At least then there's a good area for the fish to grow, spawn and not be bothered.
  7. Ya, wonder how many many whities are in the freezers from the lowlanders around Innisfil and their retarded parking rules and outrageous parking rates.
  8. I would think you need some text to go with the photos.
  9. Just for the curiosity on my side, I sat down and tallied up all the fuel used since new, 19 Jul 04 until a couple days ago, 15,345litres for 114,522km, works out to as close to 21mpg as you can get. City/highway combined pulling a 22' travel trailer or a 16'boat. I don't think any of the gas engines can come close to this in reality, no matter how much the manufacturers say the can. Beyond that, it will pull far more than a 22' trailer without a lot of effort.
  10. It's a whole lot cheaper heating the house and no snow to push or blow.
  11. Never look back with a Yota...ha, that's cuz there's no one behind you, they're all already on the water fishing.
  12. My tranny has no issues, 6 speed oar with 3 pedals. Dodge makes them, Cummins shakes them.
  13. Chevy Tahoe gets excellent fuel ecomony..15l/100km, that's horrible, I can get an easy 12 or less per 100 with a Quadcab 4x4, with a Cummins. The lug nuts on my truck take more torque than your little pizzant GM produces..
  14. Possum = Land Shark, ever see their teeth when they snarl..
  15. Nice find Art. Now if someone could find who actually makes or re labels the generic containers of oil for all the different companies. We all know that Merc, etc, don't have their own oil derricks and pump their own crude to be refined.
  16. There's another one out now, the Aqua Vu Micro, the camera is about the diameter of a .25c piece, the monitor about the size of a pack of cigarettes and the 50' cable winds up on the back of the pack. No more having to drag something around the size of a milk crate.
  17. Don't forget the passport if going south and if you're taking anything questionable along, it can make the trip a major headache. I've done the trip a number of times in the winter, the worst stretch always seems to be between Espanola to just east of Winnipeg, completely dependant on the snow precipitation and wind driving it. Plan to go both ways and leave the final decision until the day you go. Make sure you have a "winter kit" with you.
  18. Some just have to justify spending piles of money on their rotating rainbow of colours. One thing for sure that neither can do is predict whether or not the fish will bite.
  19. she must have gotten better skills then.
  20. Okay, so where do you know Bridgitte the Midget from? She got married a number of years ago.
  21. I've been stewing on this one since 12:30 today, every time I go to bend over and tie my boot, I have visions...a chubby, vertical height challenged individual running around with a pump in hand with an Anussol tip attached.
  22. If all else fails and you can't find the right tip for the pump, get the little cone shaped top that fits on the end of caulking tubes or RTV Silicone. Then jam the pump in the open end and cut off just enough to get inside the lower fill hole of the outboard. Worked for me for at least 15 years.
  23. Pull logs around in low gear, yes, riding 2 on a small machine, na, you're going to kill it, motor/transmission and weight wise, it's not meant for that.
  24. First you say there's only 3 brands to consider, but all seem to have problems, some are subject to interference noise and the others too powerful, but you're going to buy one anyway. O..kay.
