  1. I use a vicks inhaler for the times between the antihistamine and before I go to sleep to keep from snoring. Art
  2. I don't know about the other Americans up there but I have been stopped 12 out of 12 trips by the local MNR so I am pretty sure that the statement of all of the Americans are raping and pillaging the resources limits aren't always respected either, especially from many Americans who visit doesn't hold water either Bernie.lol BTW I have had 12 shore lunches with only 3 of them included walleyes. Art
  3. I find a shot of whiskey just before bed as well as having everything done the night before makes it easier to keep Lew o clock at bay. Good luck . Art
  4. Just to put a bug in your ear look at the eco boost motors from Ford. I am not sure about the cost differences between Canada and the US but it is a motor that I am finding bridges the gap in torque and H.P. I am running the 3.5 in a full size king cab with 3.72 gear set and getting 16.7 mpg combined being semi nice to it. Art
  5. Yes they work for stripers the big market that the watermen cash in on was to catch and ship them overseas. It is one of the winter catches that keep them working year round. Art
  6. Hand lining uses 20-30 lb test the smaller line cuts your hands and when they get snagged the coral cuts small line like butter. Don't leave them any braid it will cut the begeesers out of there hands. Small hooks long shank for bluegills or trout will be good just make sure the eyes are big enough for the lines. I also found sabrinki rigs an excellent choice to use as well as leave behind. A hand full of weights are always appreciated in the islands. This info is not from going to Cuba but I have been all over the islands and these seem to be universally accepted. Art
  7. I stopped using leaders and use 65lb braid so far I have not had any cutoff issues on pike while fishing up North. They have also survived the mouth of snakeheads down here as well. Art
  8. Just to point out it is not the type of bike that makes someone an idiot it is the idiot that rides the bike. I have owned bikes over my life that range from a Honda 350 to a Dyna glide Harley at my best count it has been over 15 bikes and currently have 4 in the garage. That being said over the years I have seen idiots driving both types of vehicles. I now ride like I am invisible and only when the sun is up and traffic is light. I like restoring the older bikes with my brother and we have restored some really awesome examples of speed and power and the thing is they only went as fast as we ran them. Art
  9. Excellent bait for catfish. Art
  10. Not often but I have caught a few eels using a crankbait. Art
  11. I got some great places except for the 2 hour limit. If you expand it to 12 we can talk. Best of luck. Art
  12. Funny how we all rename places that we fish at. On Lake Nippissing my brother and I can say our name on where we caught a fish and when we try to tell the other we can never seem to tell them where it really is. My favorite word in a name seems to be trench since all of the places up North seem to be deep channels. Art
  13. I have bunk boards on a Ranger and it launches really well since I applied Liquid roller. I have to have it in the water before unhooking or it will slide off on the ramp. The issue with the rollers is they concentrate the pressure on the fiberglass and if you have a weak spot it will find it on the rough roads we sometimes go down. Art
  14. Sorry to hear this Mike. Maybe Bernie will chime in with a little wisdom also. Art
  15. If you see something that is incorrect please use the report button it will flag the post for us to review. Posting like this does not help because it does not bring the offensive post up and we have to read the whole thread and most of the time it is so far back it no longer matters. Thanks Art
  16. Some of my towing is extreme distances so I also carry an electronic temperature reader and check the tires and hubs along with a tire gauge. It is an easy way to spot trouble before it gets out of hand.
  17. Happy Birthday me friend See you all soon. Art
  18. Nice lookin pooch who looks very happy. Art
  19. They are my favorite fish to go for because of the fight. If you match the tackle to the fish you are in for a good time. Art
  20. Rumor mill says 15 wimmins but only 2 men Art
  21. Best bait/rig for cats are a sinker large enough to hold bottom where you are fishing. Make a loop about 15 inches above and put a circle hook on a 5 inch lead. Put chicken liver fresh on the hook and put it out in any place the current is swirling and ebbing. For the big cats use fresh cut sucker in steaks with a single pass of the hook thru it. Once you get a scent trail going after a few bait ups the fish will find you if they are in the area. Art
  22. Tape it to the toe next to it and go see a doctor for an xray. Art
  23. You got catfish and you are playing with those stupid muskies? Yea I know fish with teeth have a certain allure... I am heading out Sat. for a snakehead tournament instead fo going for catfish. Art.
  24. What part of follow the rules is so difficult? I have never moderated/locked a thread for the content. I have locked many for people breaking the rules. Any further questions on this can be answered in P.M.s so as to not detract from this thread. Thanks Art
  25. None taken Brian I am not moderating this for the topic or the discussion but from the rules. Debate is encouraged, but please follow the basic guidelines of debate. No name calling. Back up your claims with proof. Don't get your knickers in a knot if someone disagrees. KEEP IT CIVIL! Things that will not be tolerated. Flaming, baiting, name calling, prejudice, racism, sexism, sexual comments and inuendos, swearing, spam, and general boorishness. If we started debating purple crayons and calling each other stupid it will get locked as well. Art
