  2. great report EHG, I'm going to try some of those areas when the boat comes out of storage in 35 days. Hopefully all the shore ice is gone by then. thanks for posting.
  3. another vote for around bridges, also try rivers when trout season opens. You can get alot of exercise walking the banks of a river and also some fresh air. hope this helps
  4. excellent advice guys, show starts in 13 minutes can't wait
  5. Probably around 60 days for me, 95 % of those days are 8 hour days, a typical year for me.
  6. The south side of Thorah Island on Simcoe is covered in bird crap, it looks like there has been a light dusting of snow in the middle of the summer. Hopefully they take some action on these birds .
  7. I think the evinrude ficht 150-200 hp motors(1998-2000 pre bombardier) were very poor engines also. somebody from this board warned me about them and after I googled them I found lots of people had problems with them.

  9. have to agree with misfish on maxing out on the horsepower. Did you price out a 75 opti or 4 stroke? I read an article the other day gas will be $1.50 ltr by 2012 ,assuming you plan on keeping it that long. Nice size boat.
  10. awesome deal with that coupon, thanks
  11. pretty funny video, thanks for posting.
  12. crazyhook, any idea how long it was?
  13. Bassboy, I bought it a couple of weeks ago on ebay from the states. I worked out the savings you mentioned with the rebate and the 20 % discount for members I could have saved $18 more compared to lebaron's. lebaron's price for the curado 301dsv is $293, whereas the 201dsv is $227. Thanks for letting everybody know about the rebate, we all like to get bargains on our gear .
  14. not a boxing day special, but I just bought a curado 301dsv for $230 , taxes and shipping included. (no extra charges). I thought this was a good deal
  15. my favourite posts was one of the ones by johnnybass, either the Lower Buckhorn or the Lake Simcoe one. Both of those posts motivated me to try and fish those areas. Moosebunks post with those huge Sturgeon was also very good.
  16. a couple of good tips , good post....thanks
  17. Very nice summary of your year, great pictures as well and thanks for all your reports this year, they were excellent.
  18. I use a garmin hand held gps in the boat and a fish finder. I find the screen very hard to read on the gps as it is very small. My next purchase will be a fishfinder/gps combo unit. I think these units are great for trolling / finding structure .
  19. nice shots thanks for posting.
  20. I'm not sure of the cost but an estimate is $150-200. the cost would vary depending whether you want 4 bunks (2 on each side) or not.
  21. have you considered putting bunks on your trailer instead of rollers? I've had both and prefer bunks, I find it easier to load on bunks when I am by myself and offloading is easier.
  22. congrats on the package, looks real nice. How far did you go to get it?
  23. nice fish , congrats.
  24. I bought three new reels this year, Daiwa Zillion 100 series baitcaster- awesome reel, very smooth, small size, casts a mile(not quite), has external adjustment for casting on windy days, $250 out the door at BPS sale, also 7-1 gear ratio. Quantum Tour Edition baitcaster, doesn't feel as good as the Zillion but is smooth, and casts far, also 7-1 gear ratio, Okuma line counter reel, i bought this for Simcoe to get the bait down to specific depths and haven't used it yet two Quantum Tour Edition PT rods (med, hvy), very light rods, very happy with them. a few musky baits, instead of Grandma's I'm trying Double D's and like them better. I'm going to buy a ml 7 foot spinning rod in the spring as one of my two piece rods became a one piece as half of it flew out of the boat.
  25. cliff ,check out www.radioworld.ca, they have some nice Lowrance units that are reasonably priced. also I believe when the fishing show is on there is a no tax sale at a couple of stores.
