  1. well, I went to BPS this morning and they had an in store special on the motorguide pro series 70 lb thrust bowmount for $324 plus taxes which came out to $370. The regular price is $649 , so I saved a bundle. They had a sale on most of motorguide units, if any body is in the market for a 55lb thrust motor they had them for $224 plus taxes. thanks for your replies.
  2. I will be buying a new bowmount trolling motor in the next couple of weeks, I have recently found the 70lb thrust one on sale at a store in Toronto. Now my dilemma is when the salesman was comparing the minnkota to the motorguide he stated that the motorguide has a metal shaft compared to a composite shaft on the minnkota's. With the metal shaft if you have the motor down and you are moving at full thrust and hit a rock or log that you can bend the shaft. I would like to know from motorguide users how durable their unit has been? thanks
  3. with the green roof on the barn, i'd say irishfield landing strip ....
  4. for getting the admirals marina question right ... the next time your in the area between the wye river and port mcnicoll can you take a picture of the lighthouse that is about 200 feet from shore, my parents own a cottage about 300 feet from the light house.

  7. is it the tip of beauselea island. bay to the left penetang bay
  8. What are you going to be using it for mostly? those are fairly large reels and it you plan on using all day for bass fishing they are too big in my opinion. I think the conquest 401 is more suited for musky fishing and would be an excellent choice for that application.
  9. TRY Harry's bait and tackle in Keswick 905-476-0441 , call ahead to see what he has.
  10. I bought the garmin vistac and I should have bought the one your looking at, everytime at the front of the boat I keep thinking I am going to drop it over the side. The floating version would have been worth the extra money. and at $375 that is a really good price.
  11. I have the Quantum Cabo PT cbc31pts that I use for musky, it has a low profile and is very smooth and won't break the bank. One booth at the show had them for $219 taxes included. It also comes in a left hand model.
  12. Welcome back. Did you sign up for the 2007 OFC Tournament yet? Lebaron's has the no tax sale on at the fishing show .
  13. I went on Thursday picked up two Eagle fishfinders the ds245 and ds250 at Lebarons for $131 and $181 , they have the no tax sale. At Fishing World I pick up some of the new Reaction Innovation flipping hooks, they are made by Gamakatsu and have welded eyes, I found with power pro my line would slip thru the eye once in a while and I would loose fish, these hooks eliminate this from happening(great product). also picked up some Evolution Jigs at Fishing World , that are designed to sit on the bottom with the hook facing up. I also watched some seminars, and thought Barry Pringle and Mike Desforges did a good presentation and gave lots of good advice.

  18. DSN....the link that you gave does not give the details of the fish that was caught. it sends me to another message board that I have to logon to . oh well I guess we will never know the full story. nice fish.
  19. I have been using the Quantum Cabo PT, it's a low profile reel with good line capacity, also very smooth. the gear ratio is 5:7:1. .
  20. I went to the show on Saturday. Lund had lots of boats on display . I think the biggest they had was a 2025 Pro-v with a 275 verado.
