  1. I find fishing with a partner you cover more water and sometimes find out what the hot bait of the day is. Crappie fishing with Tbayboy this spring the fish seemed to like his white / pink jig head this one particular day, as soon as I put one on I started catching fish also. Flipping in tight spaces I prefer to do myself, as you don't have to worry about boat control as much. Carp fishing I go with Photoz , he has enough ground bait to feed a few hundred carp(thanks Photoz)
  2. congrats on getting that first one, sounds like you both had a great day.
  3. Sounds like you had a great time with lots of fish. Lucky you got to hold the camera for the last picture.
  4. Most baitcasters come in left and right hand retrieve. On your spinning setup if you reel with your left had and hold the rod with your right then you should go with a left hand retrieve reel. The Quantum reels on sale are great reels you won't be dissapointed with one of those.
  5. congrats on all those fish. you guys sure did eat well.
  6. nice report , kids look like they are having fun.

  12. congrats on getting the first one out of the way. Nice hold on the fish for the picture.
  13. welcome to the board . Have you picked up the fishing regulations book yet? there is info in there that may give you tips on where to start. If you are a carp fisherman you can try where the Rouge River meets lake ontario, also try going into some local fishing stores (Tightlines in Pickering) and ask them where to start. good luck.
  14. I was there last week and headed to Willow Beach in 65 feet of water and lost one and landed one within 1/2 hour . There were only 2 boats there and the rest of the boats were at Fox and Snake Island.I went to Fox and missed a few jigging with the badboyz and meegs and left when it started to rain. I should have stayed at WB but I figured I'd go where all the other boats were.
  15. stay between the markers until you get to know the lake, markers from Port Perry all the way up the Scugog River. If you are moving your boat to different lakes I'd suggest getting a GPS, I found it helps a lot as some lakes have rock shoals you have to watch out for and they are marked on the GPS.
  16. Pigeon on Saturday and Scugog on Sunday , hopefully get into some fish on both days.
  17. awesome job cliff. that was great
  18. hi Taper, when I target musky on Rice Lake, I usually go up the Otonabee River to the Wallace Point bridge and work the banks back to the lake with a spinnerbait or suick and have had some success.I fnd the spinnerbait doesn't get snagged as much as a bait with trebles on the fallen trees along the shoreline. I also find if they have the dam open, there is too much current and I don't do as well. This is the pattern I use in the fall but I think it might work in the spring also as the fish start feeding again. hope this helps.
  19. I have only owned a cheap Hummingbird but I had no problems with it.
  20. congrats on that fish, I hope it won you some money.
  21. in the kawarthas I will be starting shallow, during spring crappie fishing I saw some musky cruising in 2-3 feet of water , sure will be nice to see one nail the bait in water that shallow. I am heading to Pigeon , good luck to everyone going.
