  1. congrats on the fish guys, Ehg sure knows where to find them close to the gta.
  2. very nice fish,congrats
  3. great report Sean, Saturday was a lot of fun fishing, although the ride back to the launch was a little bumpy. Sunday was one of those musky hunting days with some lily pad fishing mixed in. That black/orange slopmaster worked on the pike, musky and large mouth it was a hot lure for the weekend.
  4. I have been down there a few times and fishing has been poor, lots of people still go there though.
  5. great report Sean, the highlight of my day was the pike that hit my top water pop'r. Just before the pike hit a largemouth jumped clear out of the water beside my bait and then 15 seonds later the pike hit, I figure that the pike was chasing the bass and missed it then hit my pop'r. overall I thought it was a good day and that last area we fished seemed to hold a lot of fish.
  6. I saw a brand at the boat show, I think it was Xpress. looked pretty good
  7. used boat for saleif you're interested in used from the states I saw this one the other day, that's a 80 hp 4 stroke
  8. great report Sean, having the extra clothing in the boat sure paid off, as soon as Sean changed we were back fishing like nothing happened. As you mentioned I fell out of my old boat a couple of years ago, as I was going from the back deck to the front deck , I was wearing sandals and slipped into the water. Whenever I fish by myself I wear my life jacket as accidents do happen. The fishing was slower than the week before, but there was a difference in temperature 26 vs 17 degrees plus it was raining. Overall I thought it was a good day and we managed to stay out of the wind most of the time.
  9. great report, looked like a good day to be on the water.
  10. for a little more than $10, I'd buy berkley fat sinking worms in breen colour and also the wacky rigging tool(looks like a little baseball bat) it also comes with some o rings. you need the tool for the fat sinking ones as they are to big and too hard to get the o ring over them.
  11. I was out on a charter with Davis Battah , he's a hard working great guy and we caught a few fish. Davis has a 20 foot boat with a stand up top which was really nice on the cool and windy fall day. Almost forgot to mention that we fished Balsam.
  12. I'd say you could troll on lake ontario with it, BUT you would have to pick the best days where there is little wind. Several guys on this board troll out there with 16 footers and they just come in when it gets rough.
  13. sounds like you are going to buy it. I'd suggest letting it run and get warmed up and make sure it doesn't overheat.
  14. awesome fish, must have put up a heck of a fight
  15. great report Sean, and nice pictures. Saturday was definately a tough fishing day, we sure did a lot of exploring new areas that day.
  16. Your buddy sure learned some lessons the hard way. That sure is a nice boat he bought.
  17. either Scugog,Sturgeon or Buckhorn on Saturday we usually decide in the morning and Georgian Bay (Victoria Harbour) on Sunday as the weather forecast is for 5km winds, have a safe weekend everybody
  18. last weekend we used berkley 5 inch fat sinking worm in breen colour and the fish loved them, the water was fairly clear in the Kawarthas (Buckhorn)
  19. awesome pictures again, Do you know the type/name of that beetle, very cool looking? also , What type of camera are you using?
  20. great pictures , awesome scenery in that area/ thanks for posting
  21. Bass Pro Shops has a way bigger selection than Lebaron's, but I wouldn't drive that far to go there. Shop online and save the gas money.
  22. great report Sean, on Saturday on Buckhorn we fished 3 spots that we fished before and 4 new ones . On Sunday on Pigeon we fished 3 spots that we fished before and 6 new ones , was definately a good learning experience . Also the picture with the boat house in the back ground the owner of the property let her dog bark at us (yappy poodle) for 5 minutes, while she was 50 feet away, I guess some people don't like fishermen working there shoreline.
  23. this is a site in the states you can find some deals ,even some boats that people won and are selling for good prices. http://www.bassboatcentral.com/boats4sale.htm
  24. I think the 640 is a little small, if you can afford it move up to 17 or 17 1/2. triton has a tr176??? that seems like a good deal or one of the nitro's. a motor with DFI will give you better gas mileage and might be better for resale value. a finder with a gps will help when going to different lakes, I think the cheapest is around $500. My first bassboat was a small 17 1/2 footer with little storage space, now I have a 18 footer than is wider with more storage. One thing I'll recommend is 18 foot or under get a single console as the console takes up alot of space. I find I always have to move stuff around even when I am by myself, I have a dual console.
  25. looks like another great day on the bog for you guys.
