I have a bass boat now that I bought in the states 1...I wanted lots of storage compartments 2...not an under powered boat 3...bought a good name brand (skeeter)(yamaha) 4...tried to buy as new as possible (1999) 5...wanted 18 foot , figured a 21 foot with a 225 would be too hard on gas now with the gas prices a 4 stroke or direct fuel injection motor is definately the way to go, wish I knew the gas prices were going to go up so fast.

I'd go ask the salesman or manager and tell them the skeg was damaged before you picked it up and you think that's why the boat is pulling to one side making it a little dangerous to drive. or talk to the mechanic in the shop I'm sure he would have noticed if it was damaged previously. nice boat.

looks good depending on the price, there is a 2006 g3 in the trader also that is a long drive , but you could get an ofner to look at it for you then take the drive.

great report. that last shot is amazing.

Do you try to predict if it will be a good day fishing?
mikeh replied to bassfighter's topic in General Discussion
I find after it rains the water gets alittle dirty and the bass seem to go into hiding, but the musky are on the prowl . The musky seemed very active on Sunday on Scugog during and after the rainfall. -
I have bought a boat in the states before and they asked to see the ad from the magazine , I don't think it is required by law but the more info you can show them you are not scamming the better.

I've probably only not gone two or three days because of the weather forecast. I don't mind a bit of rain but if there is lightning I find a place to tie up the boat and wait for the storm to pass or just go home. We saw a storm moving in on scugog this year and we got off the water and about 15 minutes later everybody was going back out. I usually check the weather before I go to bed and again when I wake up and try and pick the area that looks better, so far this year has worked out ok. Three weeks ago they were calling for rain and t-storms in bobcaygeon and just before I was about to leave they changed the weather prediction for the day,for the better. There was a bit of rain for about 1 hour, overcast all day, 5 km winds and only about three other boats on the water, and the fish were biting. Although after about 8 hours of fishing a storm was moving in so we headed home. This past weekend I was fishing south of Cesarea on Scugog when I noticed there was rain coming my way from the south-east but up near the Scugog river looked clear so I went up there and the rainstorm passed not hitting that area.

nice report, you sure did catch a few fish.

I am a big fan of pp. Its great for flipping in pads as well as musky fishing. When the colour starts to fade you can use a marker to colour the last 6 feet of line or so. pp is more expensive than mono but you can get more years out of the pp before you have to change it.

I'd suggest a daiwa like the reel Danbo suggested, lebaron's has them for $139. I used to be a shimano guy but have bought a couple daiwa reels and find them very user friendly with external adjustment and I seem to have less backlashes with them.

sounds like fun, $15-20 for a team entry, depending how many teams, maybe have 3 payouts, that would help people at least pay for the gas in there boats and vehicles for a day.

Dad and I are going to try out luck with Senko's on Friday :)

if you are going to wacky rig them with an O ring I'd suggest casting them into shore and letting them sit maybe give them a couple jerks. I move around quite a bit covering water to try and find fish. If you are going to fish them in thick cover where you want your bait to go thru you'll need some bullet sinkers, at least 1/2 inch , I like the gambler ones with the rubber in the middle. -
this seems like it really stresses you out. one thing I suggest is when you are there put a couple javex bottles out and maybe make a swimming area.

sounds like he is a tenant or maybe a relative of the owner.

I fish the Severn Sound area 3 or 4 times a year. There is an area I troll that is 20 feet deep with a few drop offs and underwater humps that produces fish, although I am still trying to catch the big one. I recommend casting around shoals , I have found some fish in 8 feet of water off some shoals in that area.
-
congrats, I'd say it's 6 lbs even , wow what a fish .

great report Sean, Sunday was definately slower than the week before, this was my third time fishing Buckhorn so we spent half the day exploring new shorelines. We did find some areas with lily pads that did look good but since we we were using the worms we didn't stay in those areas. I think a whole day on the lily pads needs to be spent to see if there are any fish there.

we also found the fishing slow today, nice colours on that fish.
