  1. We used to have a mix of them here..now it is all cottontails. We had a cottontail explosion a few years back, but they seemed to have leveled off. Have not seen a hare here in a long time. I think the wet weather over the last few years may have had an effect...
  2. I think the cottontail has displaced them much as the mallard has been displacing other duck species.
  3. Holy crap! I think we need a rules... all members must be accompanied by a site mod on fishing trips where epic fish are hiding
  4. Thanks Dan! One of the things about having a point and shoot is that you really have to pay attention cause you don't have complete control of the camera. That actually helped me learn about light and composition. The other good thing is you really get to learn photoshop to fix all your mistakes. I didn't set out to shoot people at all...I wanted to do stuff like you and Brandon do. But it just kinda went this way. Can't wait to get a real camera!
  5. We have never asked anyone to edit a picture. Steelheaders have been doing it for a long, long, time and other sites are rather famous for it. Not making fun of anyone..just the practise. Sorry..I just think the extreme measures some guys take to protect what they have are funny.
  6. I got this pic from another float fisherman... this is the exact spot the rod was lost, so if you know this spot keep an eye out...
  7. I will buy two tickets, Bushy....my girl is way hotter than her and she likes fishing. So I likely used up all my luck!
  8. Just a few I have taken and editted using Lightroom and Photoshop...
  9. If, at this point, you feel like there is a chance, have your doctor start you on the antibiotics. It is six weeks of antibiotics...really, what do you have to lose?
  10. Do those center pin reels come with photo editting software?? lol
  11. Once you have your limit and are not permitted to cull, you MUST release the fish, no matter what shape it is in. Otherwise every poacher would just keep jiggiing up walleye out of 40 feet of water and giving them a little squeeze which blows their stomach out of their mouth and claiming it was dead so he had to keep it.
  12. If it was a forum, they got attacked by spam bots. We get hit but we have lots of protection measures and use very high end software... I have seen lots of fishing sites using cheap forum software get crushed by spam bots and have had to rescue a few sites. Its not easy and not a fun job to fix them. so the big bucks we spend here is totally worth it. We were under a constant attack awhile back which was causing our site to slow down. These spammers are very determined.
  13. Sad news, indeed. Never met Sonny, but my heart goes out to his wife and family and friends.
  14. You do not need to report the fish and with the new culling laws, if you kill one after your limit is reached you SHOULD cull a live fish for your dead one where allowed. And yes, there is a limit on roe. You may possess the roe from as many fish of that species you are allowed to possess. The possession laws mention fish or any part of a fish. So if you have fifty pounds of roe, you are in deep do-do. Stripping a fish and releasing can get you a fish molestation charge. And if it doesn't, it is a fish in possession in any event since it is part of that fish.
  15. The economy may keep people away, but limits never will. Anyone coming strictly for a feed can buy it at the grocery store for far less than it will ever cost no matter what the limit.
  16. Worm Dangler...I've lived in the north. It's not just a 'one over' problem. The locals just know where and when. The tourists get caught because they are predictable and pass high traffic areas. Stop blaming non-residents...we are the ones doing the lion's share of the damage. Anyone who has lived in the north knows this is true.
  17. What purpose would it serve giving jail time to someone who didn't show anyway? Locals are always the biggest resource abusers..not tourists.
  18. Stop using internet explorer. Older versions see the google ads as a seperate page so you have to click once to go back for the ads and click again for the page. It is a browser flaw. The server stuff...I dunno. Seems to last only a minute or two then be fine so we shall wait and see what the host says.
  19. Here is the 1999 incarnation..the very first http://web.archive.org/web/20000824042524/...ing.net/discus/ Apparenlty is was called a 'discus' board...looked like a frizbee, I guess. The second version http://web.archive.org/web/20020402153808/...geboard/view.pl
  20. I dunno...there's something about our demographics that keeps that bedwetting ad alive on the site..lol.
