I drove an 18 wheeler for 30+ years, it's sort of amazing to look down and see what some people are doing behind the wheel! LOL I stopped driving around 5 years ago, MS, I decided it was beyond my abilities to do so safely. I do believe it is a problem everywhere though, in some areas more than others? I live in a small rural township near a junction of two state highways, it has a one way traffic circle at the junction, only the north and south part have stop signs, none on the east and west part. People can't seem to read the stop signs or travel in the direction of the arrows? Dirt bikes, 4 wheelers, and snowmobiles aren't allowed on our roads here, that doesn't seem to stop them, or keep them from taking off across some one Else's property if they see a cop. There is no perfect world? You just hope not to injure or kill some one " by accident "?

http://abcnews.go.com/US/water-levels-lake-mead-reach-record-lows/story?id=39235749 " The water levels in Lake Mead, the man-made reservoir that serves about 20 million residents in Nevada, Arizona and California, is at an all-time low, according to the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation. " Who thought promoting millions of people to move into an area that was mostly desert was a good plan? The profits have been made, the taxpayers get the bill? -
The visibility in Lake Erie here has improved over the years, but even as a kid it was easy to notice the difference in water clarity between here and up north. Once the farmers fields dry out enough for them to start plowing and planting here near shore areas will be even worse. The wet spring so far might make for a successful walleye spawn here? Not as much silt runoff because the fields aren't plowed yet?

40,000 Lake Trout released into Lake Erie

One of my younger brothers was into the Salmon and trout fishing a lot more than me, he claimed my dad caught a laker fishing for walleye with him in the deeper waters of the central basin of Lake Erie years ago. -
LOL, at least they could see the car? I am guessing that shoreline areas here are not going to have that kind of water clarity!

Ohio used to stock coho, they raised them (some of them?) at a hatchery on South Bass island. To the best of my knowledge they stopped stocking them many years ago and went to stocking steelhead. http://ohioseagrant.osu.edu/news/2012/d1464 Evidently that hatchery has been converted to another use? http://wildlife.ohiodnr.gov/stay-informed/news-announcements/post/public-invited-to-castalia-state-fish-hatchery-open-house As I understand Ohio bought a privately owned trout club years ago that was feed by waters coming from the Blue Hole and made a hatchery there for cold water species. http://www.sanduskyregister.com/Blog/2015/03/14/Unique-Cold-Creek-supports-Castalia-Trout-Fishery Cold Creek is relatively small where it enters Sandusky Bay, you can't get more than a couple of hundred feet into it with a small boat, but it has a good flow. In late May? you can notice a big difference in the temperature of the water in it and the bay. I look for those lakers to start heading east to deeper waters as soon as the water temps in the western basin start to warm up. -

http://rapala.fishing/products/weedless-shad Swims Slowly Down on the Drop Sinking I would consider it a countdown lure? Retrieve speed will play a part in how deep it stays?
-
Not a bad looking lure, seems a bit on the small size for big pike? Bass lure!

How often should you repack the wheel bearings
OhioFisherman replied to RickOnt's topic in General Discussion
I did mine at the end of my fishing season every year, never had a bearing problem on the trailer. -
20# of drag is actually a lot of drag, they are only showing 15# for a Curado 300 series.

LOL hunter, I am certainly not a muskie man, but a ten ounce lure is a pretty darned good sized one!
-
LURE RATING 4-10 ? Is that in ounces? Or did they come up with a new way to confuse people?

Brown Trout are growing nicely
OhioFisherman replied to spinnerbaitking's topic in General Discussion
You do have an advantage with cooler water temps up there, and from the few rivers I have seen that emptied into the Georgian Bay, there doesn't seem to be the problem with silt from farming activity in the spring. Our rivers have a tendency to turn brown after a rain, and it's worse in the spring once the farms have been plowed.
