Welcome to the OFC family Bassman.

Rick, It could be moisture build up inside have you tried using a small brazing torch to heat it up first? I had a similar problem with a master lock a couple of winters ago. I purchased a "solder it" torch from HD and it helped after heating the lock about 20 sec. I don't know if it will work with your lock though. Good luck. Stan

Wayne, Be Safe and both of you have fun! Look forward to hearing back from you when you get back. Stan

Hi Lorissa, Thanks for the update, would you know what their contact number is as their website doesn't seem to be working. Please PM me the info as I wouldn't want anyone think that this is a spamming thread. Thanks, HF

Hey Paul, good to see you got some feed to take home. As for the question above, I have a finnbore and to my knowledge all the holes I've drilled have been very straight. I kind of think that it would have to be straight in order to have both blades cutting properly. Initially it may seam to wobble but it does straighten out. Stan

I hope they catch the buggers and get charged, then you go after them for all legal fees, repair, etc.

Andrea, welcome to the OFC family! I guess there'll be no more fake excuses for UB to go fishing! LOL

I was there at Caesarea on Sunday, out in the middle of the lake it was only 5", not safe for a car IMO. Lots of sleds zipping around, I didn't see anything larger than a sled or ATV out on the lake while I was there. HF

And that was while all this guy holds the camera and not even trying to help out! Too bad he made it out without major damage to his truck, that may have help to teach him a lesson. What goes through their minds? HF

Greg, great work! Those are some awesome lakers.

I'll have to remember that, but I'll have to figure where I should drill to holes to optimize my time. Thanks sinker, Stan

In there right now. HF

Haha, I guess working for the bank for a couple of years way back when has rubbed a bit off. FD, I was working off the angler atlas maps. Yeah, today was a bit late as I went to pick up bait which opens at 7 am thus, limiting me to the time. As for last year, I fished from 2:30 AM to 11:30 am and another to 4:30 pm without even a sniff. Maybe next time I'll just go from 2:30 PM to lets say 7pm? Is 4lb test flouro too heavy? Stan Rizzo and UA1990, it was exactly for the reason BP mentioned, just trying to do my part in preventing the virus to spread. I've been checked for licenses before on Scugog in the past so just trying to cover all the points. Besides the left over minnows become salties. Stan

My fishing buddy and I headed out for our first ice trip this year , tried a few new spots that had green vegetation (something I couldn't locate the last two times last year's season). We drilled the first hole at about 8:15am. Depths were 4-7 FOW. We put on the Vex, questionable readings so I dropped the aqua vu down to take a look, lots of weeds, no fish, drilled another 4 holes in the area, same results. Jigged raps, plastics, and live minnows (bought from a local bait seller who didn't provide a receipt). Moved to another spot about 3-5 mins away, same procedure, same result. Moved to another spot closer to a bunch of ice huts but far enough not to be earshot. Same procedure, same results. One fella yells out, "Did you catch a pic this morn?", another guy's response could not be made out. This is where it got interesting. Got a phone call from the wife and kids (not too happy). Gave it until 12:30pm then had to head home as I did the goofy thing of taking off with both my car keys and my wife's car keys in my jacket , boy did I get an earful on the lake! My buddy sitting 20 ft away could hear it, as I could tell by the smirk on his face! However, I felt sorry for my buddy as I had to leave else I'd be sleeping in a mound of snow with the inside scooped out in the backyard (no doghouse, that would be too nice, LOL). Cut our planned trip short by about 4 hours. Anyways, can anyone help me get out of this Bog funk? That's 0 for 3 counting last year's two outings. Thanks for reading, Stan

WTG on the slab crappie!

Turtle, It's just as challenging for me, that's why I like to go! My fishing buddy that's going tommorrow mentioned Beaverton and perching, because it's easier, but unless the majority of the fish is between 11-13" and there is a chance to catch something else, I said I'll wait until we can get onto trying for whities! Not that perching isn't fun, I just can't imagine myself cleaning a dozen perch for dinner. I'd like to keep a small feed for the family. HF

I'm definitely not a supporter for unions, after looking at how foreign companies (referring to mostly Japanese) that make cars that don't have unions, it makes more sense for large companies that can see the benefits of keeping their staff happy so that they don't have to think about unions. Having said that, workers also have to reflect upon how the employer looks at the situation, what would a worker do in the position of an executive since their on the front line but need to relook at how to keep the company moving forward instead of treading in water. In the Big 3 cases, it seems more like how fast they can bail water out as the ship is sinking. Keep in mind that foreign companies have also built auto plants here in Canada and have been producing good product as well. And correct me if my knowledge is outdated, but the last time I heard of a japanese plant looking at unionizing it was voted against by the worker, thus no union! IMO, non-unionized companies have provided better product, better service, and a better bang for the buck. HF

WTG Cliff for ending your drought!

If they have a pick up, a ice hut, and probably proper fishing gear, you'd think they would drill a hole 50 ft from shore to check the ice thickness to be sure, but NOoooo, drive the truck onto the thin ice and make a fool out of themselves and make it look like ice anglers don't look too smart. D#%b donkey!

I have just bought one, I haven't tried it yet, I'm hoping to give it a go on Sunday. I'll let you know. HF

WTG, nice looking bow!
