  1. With that lineup I see us finishing 6th-8th, and maybe going past round one. Hedo is a huge plus, there are still some big gaps, but I'm happy its a new roster, something different to watch at least... hopefully for the better.
  2. Sorry to hear that Wayne, my condolences.
  3. Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't Walleye rely on their eyesight more than other fish? That's why they do better at night, and in murky conditions. And when lakes get too clear from zebra mussels, their eyesight declines. I don't know, I'd give this one about a 50/50, I personally would have kept it. It's like living life in a jungle with one eye, sure you might survive but your chances go down.
  4. Nice my PB perch was on Simcoe icefishing this year, it was 11.5", but yours is really something else! Great catch!
  5. Lots of bass pics, I like! Good job you did pretty good
  6. The bass can be tough on Lower Buckhorn, but there are some beasts in there. Great job on the muskie those are nicely sized! I'll have to hit Buckhorn again this summer.
  7. Your friend is right, welcome to the board, looking forward to your reports!
  8. You're right, I haven't! I'd like to some day. But fishing bass can still be a challenge for me, I don't have a fish-finder so that adds to the challenge. I lik'em easy and sleazy anyways... just not dirty I've gone from calling a 5 day bass day great to about 20-30 and hope to keep improving. My only problem is I don't fish nearly as much as I'd like to! OZ
  9. Pathetic Your bad days... are what I consider great! Great outing, and great pics! Even getting a few decent fish on a relatively new body of water is an accomplishment, nothing to be ashamed of at all I had to put the opener off, first day bass killing will be next week... stay tuned!
  10. CLofchi, have you ever caught a smallmouth bass over 5pnds? What about you GCD? Both of you, can you please tell me of a freshwater species that has as much fight per pound as a Small Mouth Bass? And GCD, just to be clear, I'm talking about fish here
  11. Wow, if that's your attitude, I don't think words will explain it to you. Here's another thing to yawn at... your post. Trying to get some attention?
  12. Gerber... my favorite brand of knives! I've got a bunch of fold'em pocket knives from Gerber I used to use on fish, but those were pocket knives, I'll look for a Gerber fillet knife at BPS, wouldn't mind comparing it to the Rapala...
  13. Meh he was abused by both his family and the media, give him a break, he had a pretty big impact on most of the world regardless of race religion or location. I think the media used and abused him, and it showed on him, but still, I challenge anyone to say this was not a major news piece.
  14. It's good, I've had my Rapala from CT for several years now and it's still working well. Get a decent sharpener and you'll be fine.
  15. That's the best intro I've read in a long time! You already know how great the board is, we look forward to reading your trip reports. Oh yeah... one more thing... THREE MORE DAYS BEFORE BASS OPENER!!! :w00t:
  16. Hi Holdfast, your last post was completely disrespectful and emotional. Learn when you're having discussion to use facts, and not name call. Calling me a goof out of emotion does not reflect well on your personality. What may surprise you is most of the things you've said about me are completely false. This is because you associated me with whatever group of people you hate, and I'm not really sure why, can you specifically clarify what I said in my original post that turned you blue? To clarify to you: I am not a goof, I do respect the anthem, I do recognize the flag as a symbol of my country, I don't wear a Canadian flag on my knapsack when I travel outside the country, I do know the words to the anthem in English as well as French, I do not want it to be canceled in the schools, and I never said countries don't need borders. Perhaps you took the fact that I pledge allegiance to humanity before a country offensive? Why is that? That doesn't mean my country is not very important to me as well, but you seem to deduce that I hate Canada and don't know anything about it? What kind of logic are you following? To come out with all of these allegations is downright disrespectful, and shows you are an emotionally charged man. My point is 'freedom' means having a choice. I personally like the anthem, but when people start enforcing ideas and ridiculing or threatening those who don't agree with them (as you have, even though I didn't disagree with you), that reminds me of tactics used by some not so favorable regimes.
  17. Good stuff Joey, which zone or lake where you fishing?
  18. Prepare to get flamed, no one is going to give you a spot off of your first post and without an introduction...
  19. Ummmm... it was a bad thing when Hitler did it, Stalin did it, and a lot of other people. I pledge my allegiance to humanity first, countries with man created borders second thank you very much. I don't need to sing the national anthem to pay respects to my country, if I feel like I want to that's my choice not yours. Just singing an anthem or waving a flag doesn't make you a patriot, it's your actions. For the record I'm not decided either way on whether the anthem should be enforced or not, me personally I didn't mind it through school. And I love Canada for the record. If someone sings the anthem everyday but is committing crimes for example, does that make them more patriotic than someone who doesn't sing it? True love for land and country comes from interacting with people and the environment, not necessarily from singing a song. One of the great things about our country is freedom of choice, and if you can't respect freedom of choice for some, then you are against a basic tenet that this country was founded upon.
  20. "So like... exhilirating..." Yes it is!
  21. I strongly disagree with you that it should be mandatory, but looking at your avatar, I don't know if I should! Guess what, 'mandatory military service' is how we get things like the Hitler Youth, in fact, making almost anything MANDATORY is a step closer to a dictatorship. I strongly disagree with people who impose their views on everyone, whether they are right or not. Regardless of the initial intention and novel purpose, things evolve, sometimes for the worse. That's how you get billionaires in a communist system. I also think politics should be avoided on the board, let's face it, it's the most emotionally charged subject and everyone has very strong opinions. It WILL divide the message board. Let's focus on things that unite us instead... like fishing!
  22. First of all, 14 MORE DAYS TILL BASS OPENER!!!!! I wanted to pick up a new, better fish finder this year but the budget is quite tight, so I will be sticking to my crappy entry-level hummingbird. The problem with it is the suction cup really isn't an effective way of securing the transducer to the boat. So my question is, is there a better way to secure the transducer than just the suction cup? I've heard that you can put it in a bucket of water, and the signal will go through the bottom of the boat, would this not work on an aluminum boat? Or if anyone knows of any accessories that can secure the transducer to the boat better than the crappy suction cup, that would be great too. It falls off even going a few km/hr. Thanks for any help.
  23. Holy crap, nice report! Those walleye look tasty! Guess that report puts down all the Nippissing naysayers for a little while, the weather sure seemed like it was ideal though.
  24. Because of things like the e-health scandal. The government's rate of increasingly wasting our tax dollars requires more taxes to keep the overall balance I say screw all of the political parties, we need someone else who's responsible. Sadly politics and responsibility/honesty are on far ends of the spectrum in almost every country today, ours included.
