  1. What a great way to start a Monday! Thanks for the words Jeremy and the others that added to this thread. eTackle.ca was built around customer service as the foundation. Threads like this show it is working and we will continue to explore new avenues and take advantage of new technologies to increase the CS level even more! OFC has been very supportive in helping us acheive and surpass our goals. A special place, Thank you.
  2. Here is a thread from a couple years ago with some other ideas to try as well. http://ontariofishingcommunity.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=42144&st=0&p=449840
  3. For a few years around 1999 we got onto a drop shot style rig and did well in tournaments on Simcoe and other big water smallie lakes. We used a 1/2oz tube(no hook most the time) as the weight then a powerbait grub a foot above it. We could go into high pressured areas and still pick fish off. We got onto this technique fishnig the Niagara bar one year for lakers. At that time we used a 6'6 M spin, 8lb Pline or trilene, 1/0 bait hook, grub and 1/2oz 90 degree tube. There is no doubt others have been fishing it for years before that, we just made it work for us and the smallies. It's sure been refined since then. Rods, Lines, hooks, bait and weights are all made just for this technique. A very prodcutive and fun way to fish once you get dailed into it.
  4. Great shots Ryan. That Livetarget Trout Fry sinking is an awesome lure for panies.
  5. Try using baits like these in, around and along weedlines and breaks. You can vertically fish them or use them like a spinnerbait or inline spinner.
  6. Read your question again! lol....
  7. East shore, Frenchmans bay. Go for a drive, you'll see what I mean.
  8. I gambled on LA in a pool. Lucky, but too bad I pick Philly on the other side or I would be almost double in points.
  9. Pete, I am aiming for Prince Edward county area myself. Bay of Quinte, Wellington and other waters within a short jaunt for both hunting and fishing. Hospitals and for some reason the 401 just seems faster for getting to the big smoke if need be.
  10. Mark, should of joined us on Rice with the other meat hunters. Glad to see you posting here pal.
  11. When I was getting into retriever trials with my balck lab Remmy, one of the older gents taught me to bang pots and pans, yell, make other loud noises when the pup was eating. The dog would then associate loud noises with a "happy" time. Either of my labs were ever gun shy or afraid of loud noises, I assume the above was the reason why.
  12. A buddy from Erie was using the KVD crank rod by Quantum. I was really impressed. Definitely have a look at one if you are a hardcore crank guy.
  13. You can certainly use a baitcast set up for drop shotting. However, a spinning set up will allow you to use thinner diameter line, as well you get a lot better feel with a properly matched spinning rod for this technique. IMO I use a 7'6 Light action for drop shot, 4 - 6lb test and thin gauge hook. I drop shot a lot and many of the big smallmouth I have boated were done so drop shotting. Edit to add; Paul that rod would be a good one for light senko or fluke fishing.
  14. I agree with who ever mentioned a tinny with a 20 to 40HP. More bang for your buck. Find something with a high deck and you'll be good to go. For that budget you'll end up with a 1982 glass boat with the same yr motor. You are better off waiting until you have 10-15g's to spend on a bass boat. IMO. Then you'll buy a 18ft and the next year you'll get the 2footitis and want a 20ft. It's a vicious circle!
  15. Actually it is no problem at all. Pike love this thing, I used swimbaits (4 hooks), but I plan on trying some inline spinners on the rig this weekend.
  16. Hey Fishgreg, just caught this. Yes sir, they are on their way as well as a bunch of their other baits.
  17. Probably get a better hook up with this... Smacked some Pike with it already.
  18. Randall Tharp proving a point with photoshop.
  19. If all else fails they are a blast to skeet shoot.
  20. It appears he pulled the trigger himself, must of drove that poor lil fella nuts staring at that hotdog.
  21. HD for sure. Powering a TV like that with basic cable is like runing a 9.9 on a 20ft lund.
  22. I liked the article. eCommerce is a fickle biz model to say the least, especially here in Canada. Lots of leaning curves through trail and error over the few years I've been doing it. As an online retailer I love the challenge of eCommerce and I love competition, it breeds creativity. As a consumer, our family shops online a lot more now then ever. Just got our girls their baseball gloves and cleats shipped to our front door for a great deal and $10 bucks shipping. I like the "Carrot on a Stick" analogy above when it comes to US pricng and products. So true, I hear about it often. Thanks for posting the article.
