  1. Hey... if Bieber can do it in a restaurant and flaunt it on YouTube... then I'd say you're fine with a little tinkle in the backyard.
  2. Anyone who thinks that us "tournament" guys are a bunch of knuckle-heads, environment-destroying fish-killers, is a MORON. Us "tournament" guys probably do and know more about the conservation of fisheries than any of the tree-huggers out there that are throwing rocks.... And what does the type of boat have anything to do with it? I'd put money on it that WAY MORE fish are harmed/killed from (less experienced) fisherman than from guys in bass boats. Typically people that run bass boats are dedicated/hardcore fisherman that are EXTREMELY concerned about the conservation of our fisheries.
  3. Awesome fish Tony! Congrats!!!! LMAO... yet another tree-hugger that clearly knows nothing about the fisheries.
  4. Also have to agree that is VERY annoying..... there are a few people that I know that need a serious lesson in how to approx guess the weight of a fish. Recently I've seen a few posts on various websites/social media sites claiming certain fish to be upwards of 7-8lbs, but the fish in the pictures were CLEARLY 3-4 lb fish. There was one in the Cobourg paper a few years back claiming a "10 lb Largemouth Bass from Rice Lake".... that was a 4lb fish TOPS. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
  5. Xzone not only has the best (and most successful) soft plastics around, but also a first class guy in Mark running the company. For anyone that hasn't tried Xzone baits yet, your def missing out! Pick up a pack...or twelve..and give them a shot. You won't be disappointed!
  6. Hey all, I have some holidays coming up in July that the wife and I would like to use to go camping with. Anyone know any good SM/Walleye Provincial Parks in Quebec that they would recommend? Ive never been fishing in Quebec and really have no idea where to start. Any help is much appreciated!
  7. Exactly! 100% agree.
  8. Holy TANK of a perch! That's a beauty! Looks dont matter, if it does the job that's all that counts.
  9. Opening bass season a week early wont hurt a thing. Most bass will be off their beds by now. Don't get why this is such a "big" issues with people.... if there are two species of fish that we shouldnt be worried about it's LM & SM. Just glad they FINALLY put a slot limit in for Walleye, as their population has been taking a beating in recent years. Now, if only they would put a slot limit in Quinte, where the fishery is being decimated VERY quickly.
  10. Like I've said a few times in previous posts, I think that Bass should be open all year long. Our populations are insanely good and if they are really that "concerned" about it affecting the populations, then have a "catch & release only" season during the prime spawning times (May 1 - 3rd Sat in June). There is absolutely no reason why Bass cant be open all year long. Heck, they probably arent even in the top 5 harvested species.... there's plenty of other species that people target for the pan.
  11. I can def vouch for that, first hand! Some TANKS in there...
  12. I dont think the opener being a week earlier is the problem..... If we had "normal" spring/summer temps the fish would have been long off their beds by now. Just so happens that the year they change the opener by a week, is the same year that we have below seasonal temperatures. I've been on Rice every weekend since Walleye opener and the last time I noticed any bass on beds was on the May 2-4 weekend. Havent seen them up shallow since, so I'm guessing that the majority of the fish are spawned out already. That being said, I'm sure there are still fish on beds but even if those lingering fish are targetted I'm guessing that they are a very slim portion of the population and shouldnt have any effect on the overall spawn success.
  13. They sure are durable! I have one in particular that has literally been tied on since the start of the season, a month ago. Been in the yaps of plenty of Rice lake eyeballs, and literally looks BRAND NEW still.
  14. Absolutely!!! Came in handy a few season back when (during a tournament) we noticed a cruising yacht was SMOKING.... pulled up the Minn Kota and shot over to the boat.... he couldnt get his working, so I grabbed mine, jumped into his boat and put it out for him. I can only imagine how that might have gone if there wasn't a working extinguisher around.....
  15. I'm not sure who/where he gets the heads from now, but I know that he can make as many bucktails as you want. I just shoot him a text with whatever I want, and within a day or two, we meet up.
  16. For any of your fisherman that have Go-Pro's, Please shoot me PM's with your YouTube links and I'll add it to my new website http://www.goproangling.com.
  17. Scugog is a waste of time for Walleye compared to Rice. This past weekend was the slowest of the season so far, but still managed to get a limit of nice 16-19" eaters!
  18. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check it out.
  19. Thanks Solo, however services are a must on this trip. I'll def keep that in mind for a "guys" weekend though!
  20. That's all I do for Rice lake 'eyes. No better way that I've found. Edit to add: BIG JIM'S bucktails are the best around! I swear by those bad boys!
  21. Thanks for some great feedback! Capt - I'm def open to suggestions. As long as they have nice washrooms (ladies coming) and hydro, I can handle the rest. I'd love to hit some Walleye/Bass. Any recommendations?
  22. When is the Buffalo Cabela's going to open?
