  1. Send P3TA an email and ask them, then post it back here for a laugh!
  2. Well, Tim Hortons finally got their act together and created a truly worthy contest for all of those poor Leafs fans that blow hundreds, if not thousands of dollars every year on tickets and sports MEMORABILIA. Tim's thought that those poor fans desirved a chance to recoup some of their loses. Here is the new contest: This is the last cup that you will ever see with the name "Toronto Maple Leafs" on it!
  3. John, do you know the manager of the liquor store Eldon? He is an old friend of mine. I also know a local handyman named Barry Ley. Either of them ring a bell to you?
  4. I was lucky enough to see one soaring down 12 Mile Bay on GBay last summer. That was my first ever sighting.
  5. Wow that is too bad Hookset. I'm suprised that the meeting was held so soon after receiving the letter. They are suppose to give you a number of weeks notice so that you can prepare an arguement and present it to council. You should look into this. If all else fails, do you think that the new land owner would be interested in your property?
  6. John, have you thought about boat whips to keep the boat away from the dock? They are expensive but work very well. Here is a link from Cabela's: Cabela's Bass Pro at Vaughan Mills sells them locally. By the way, where on GB do you live?
  7. TJ has one.
  8. Rick made some really good points. I had a similar fight in Newmarket a few years ago. The first thing that I did was to get a coalition of concerned neighbours together in order to brain-storm our ideas. I also invited our local Councilor in order to get sound advice. He basically told us that passionate plea's fall on deaf ears. You have to make a sound argument such as; this doesn't fit in with the historic buildings in the area. A really good argument is the safety factor with the increased traffic flow. What will happen with all of the vehicles coming and going from the street? Are there allot of children playing in the area? Another possible argument is a possible environmental impact. Get a group together, make up one petition for all to sign, make form letters for people to individually sign and send in separately and if a number of you are to speak, make sure that what you say does not overlap each other or they will cut you short. Absolutely do not mention that "it will change the value of my property". They hate to hear that one. Also try to get the Councilor on your side. They can often swing the other votes there way. They often trade favours back and forth. Good luck!
  9. I personally love the Massasauga, but it is winderness camping. There are tons of back bays to fish and an abundance of Pike. You can easily and safely get around in your 12 footer. I use to use the same size boat there all of the time.
  10. You are correct that it is added to your home insurance policy. They will require a copy of your bill of sale with the serial numbers of all of the components, including the trailer.
  11. Fishingnut has it pegged correctly with the horsepower torque on the transom above and beyond the insurance issue. Never over-power a boat beyond the recommended rating. You also take a risk of being pulled over by the police, RCMP or Coast Gaurd and receiving a fine for over powering your vessel.
  12. I hate to say it Headhunter, but are you out of your !@$#$($ mind to go out on the ice at this time of year? That is like taking a snowmobile out on Simcoe in December. Do you not have a family or loved ones to think about leaving behind? Please wait for the soft water. Don't become someone that I read about in the Newmarket newspaper in the coming weeks.
  13. I saw the show and thought that you were a natural Tony! They should hire you as a consultant.
  14. Here is my buddy Sandie: She swam by me last summer as I was taking a scenery shot here:
  15. I've got a really great tip for all of you who use two finders with one on the bow mount. When you are trolling, keep the bow mount in the water and use it to see what is coming up. I fish Georgian Bay all of the time and some of the water is tea stained or on cloudy days, you can't see in the water very well, so I keep an eye on the fish finder in the bow and it not only saves me from running up on a shoal that is just under water, it is also a good indicator when the water is getting shallower and it is time to turn the boat.
  16. Sorry Clampet, I saw this on the "where have all of the members gone" thread.
  17. So Diplip is Clampet now? Dip, how am I going to know it is you on the 400 now? I can't pull down my lower lip and set the hook!
  18. I deal with these shipping companies every day. When I log into Hapag Lloyd, they have an image section so here are a couple of pics from there.
  19. When we got our dog the breeder told us that the best way to teach a dog to swim is to take it to a beach with a gradual slope and let the dog walk out on its own until it can't touch bottom. Most dogs will naturally start to swim and some won't. You have to work if from there. She told me that under no circumstances should you ever toss a dog off of a dock and let it learn the hard way. She said that she's seen more dogs that are scared of the water because of this method.
  20. Here are a few more shots of the water-a-holic! I can't wait to get out of the boat and go swimming again I don't know why those humans keep getting out of the water? Don't jump on me!
  21. I think that you folks are being too critical of Jen. If you look closely at the blury picture, the dog is over the shallow water and in the next shot Jen is helping the dog ashore while standing in fairly shallow water. I'm sure that she knew the limits of her pet. As for swimming dogs, you can't keep mine away from the water. She even butts in on scenery shots!
  22. I agree with you guys as well. I know for a fact that the grease slowly leaks out from the inside of the hub because the seal is not 100%. Oil is lighter then water, so would water not slowly displace the oil? How can the alleged "New System" possibly keep any oil from escaping and water from getting in?
  23. Clampet, it's amazing how much you look like Uncle Jed!
  24. I can really appreciate that video. I've had an RC helicopter since December and believe me, radio control is very hard to master.
