  1. Hello All.... I haven't been around, haven't even lurked....was concerned there for a bit that this place had me hooked...so I took up golf...and I'm lovin' it. Anyway....I just wanted to say hello and wish you all a great summer of fishing. Nancy
  2. Ryan, I felt so bad for you reading and looking at the pictures. I was dreading the part where the bone would have to be set....bet you wanted to deck the doctor for not getting it right the first time. Be careful now...I'm a Mom so I can say that. I hope you got Dairy Queen at least.
  3. What a great first trip with your little one. Love the pics, the story and her cute poses....that pic of Riley by the campfire and the scenery in the background is worthy of a frame.
  4. I love her hair!!! And I noticed in the second picture if you close enough you can get a glimpse of a very pretty young woman making her way. Cliff - you are a 'great' Dad
  5. Yes Good things sure do come to those who wait....congrats....enjoy!
  6. Congratulations....I want one. What am I saying. lol One day I'll be a grandma, it just seems to be taking forever. Taylor is beautiful!
  7. Hi Ryan....here's a woman's perspective...cuz we do end up doing a lot of work too. Built our home with the help of family and friends....a fair size to boot...just over 4000 sq ft. I swear to God there are still tiny nail holes in the window framing that still need to be filled. Went into the ground April 1993 and moved in November 1993. Wasn't completely done by any means and there is still a section in the basement where the ceiling remains unfinished and this was just to cut back on the property taxes. Would I do it again....heck ya, if I was younger. lol And a much smaller home. (keep the laundry room on the main floor - definite bonus), and have a decent size linen closet. Actually the bigger the closets the better. (I don't miss the stairs) It's a lot of work, but it also gives great satisfaction, pride and you know exactly what you've got. Anyhow....all the best to you which ever way you decide to go. Have fun....the best part was designing it. I never did get the hydraulics I wanted.
  8. Absolutely entertaining and heart warming....excellent thread
  9. aaaahhhhhh.....she really is sweet. I mean he. And he definitely knows your voice.
  10. Sitting here taking inventory of all the 'jobs' I've had so far over my lifetime and there hasn't been one that came close to giving me the feeling that I was with 'family'. I enjoyed your thread Bernie...
  11. Mine did the same John....I was so scared and screaming and then I heard him screaming louder than me...that made it all the more sweet. We still laugh about that.
  12. I too believe it is an Atlantic and not because I have ever seen one, caught one or likely ever will....but Sinker won my respect a long time ago...not only for his ongoing contributions to OFC but as well for the manner in which stood his ground on this issue. You are a great debater Sinker.
  13. Excellent! There truly is no other treat like getting away during the winter. Well worth the $$$. Looks like you all had an excellent time....great pics...awesome memories.
  14. I noticed that you started off the trip calling Megan the girlfriend... and midway through she's became the wife .... LOL did we miss something there? I was going to comment on that as well. Great report and pics and congrats to both of you on your PB.
  15. Interesting read. Good to hear that all work out, and especially nice to hear that pride and the thought of being 'raked over the coals' didn't overshadow common sense to contact the Coast Guard when you did.
  16. Nice report...results look yummy. You know, adding a pic of your baby every now and then would be nice too.
  17. Nasty they are. Chose a campground near the St.Lawrence years ago and it was pretty much covered in 'their messes'. We stayed and when it was time to leave, the kids were chasing a few of them, well, not only are those birds nasty, they are smart. About 10 of them began to fly over our set up and 'let it rip'. We had bird dung all over our screen tent...it was nasty but also a bit comical to see us all standing there with shocked expressions.
  18. Definitely a feel good....great story.
  19. Maybe this is a given that the jackets would have side pockets and so I prefer to have closures on them....not too crazy about Velcro but a zipper or snaps would be nice. And the collar on the jacket, if made out of nylon, would be more comfy for me if it had a softer material sewn onto it. Or...I could just wear a scarf too...no biggy. A matching OFC scarf would finish it off quite nicely.
