Sam, that was put as well as any parent could ever express themselves. We do the best we can and what we think is right for our kids, and hope for the best.
-
Lousy news for sure Joey, thanks for the update. Sadly though, it's something we all probably felt would be the outcome.

Gotta love those boatside hits on the figure 8 Dave, specially when you watch the whole thing go down right in front of you. It's always been my experience with a figure 8 fish that there's a better chance of a hook-up if you drive the hooks backwards towards the fish rather than a normal hook-set towards yourself. Hopefuly you'll nail a piggy before the season shuts down & good luck to ya

Great story joonmoon, you got back what you deserved

I drove by that sign 3 times this year Wayne and kinda wish I was heading up that way again right about now.

Good to see your still serving your country even after you've done your time Holdfast.

Congrats on the PB musky Wendel !! 46, 47, 48 ??....... it doesn't really matter anyways does it ??....... it's a beaut no matter what size it is and good on you for being concerned with her time outta water rather than worrying about how big she was. To me that's a sign of a real sportsman I've never really understood anyways why some fishermen are so concerned about weighing, measuring and photographing every fish they catch, no matter how small. Again, congrats to you Wendel !!

Beautiful fish Roger, infact far bigger than normal for the Kawarthas. It's always interesting when you latch onto something your not expecting. On the other end of the scale, here's a little dink that wasn't paying too much attention to what he was grabbing onto

Walleye is actually the proper name, but they were always known as pickeral to Ontario fishermen and those of us that grew up calling them pickeral still refer to them that way. Walleye is what the Americans called them and the name is now catching on here too.
-
Well done Dave, that's a very impressive pickeral

Awesome day Shaun and congrats, some real beauties there !! That's what Quinte is all about !!

Another Sunday morning Muskie report
lew replied to TroutnMuskieHunter's topic in General Discussion
WTG Steve, your on a roll now with the muskies on Sunday mornings !! The little dink pike are the same up on Nippissing too when it comes to aggressivness and a 30" fish thinks nothing of trying to eat a 10" bait. -
Maybe you can find something here, Sinker http://www.worldwidefishing.com/cuba/salt.htm

When I'm at the trailer near Peterboro I use CHEX TV and here at home it's usually the Weather network. Their both fairly accurate for a day or 2 but after that it's usually hit & miss. When we were on the St. Lawrence last Monday afternoon, they said Tuesday would be a decent day with a chance of showers in the afternoon.......perfect 3 hours later, they said OOPS...........the chance of showers for tomorrow afternoon has now been changed to a major snowstorm with 12" of snow and wind gusts to 70K. I dunno, but it seems to me if there's a huge snow storm sitting on the horizon and and less than 24 hours away they should be able to pick it up with more accuaracy than they do now. Or does a chance of showers and a major snowstorm look the same on a radar screen ?? Years ago I'd check the weather forecast before a fishing trip, but now I just go fish'n no matter what they say, but pack shorts, suntan lotion, rain suit and a winter parka just in case

My single most productive musky bait this year has been the 9" strawberry Sledge and it's probably accounted for at least 35 fish alone. I also use walleye & sucker patterned Sledges but they don't do nearly as well. Don't know if it's the white color or the pink spots but together they work great, infact I'm gonna re-paint a perch colored Double "D" in the same pattern. Unfortunately, the snot rocket pike also like the Strawberry flavour but I spose we need to take the bad with the good

Never had the misfortune to slip off the boat tongue into cold water.........yet.........but I did fall out of a boat in April one year and that wasn't too pleasant either Definetely the reason to carry a FULL change of clothes for the drive home. Here's a nifty little item from Cabellas that bolts onto your trailer tongue and would provide a safer platform to stand on while hooking up the winch strap.

I have an OFC sticker in the back window of my truck, and about a month ago I was stopped for a red light in downtown Toronto. A car stopped behind me, the driver got out and came up to me and said "here ya go, I saw your window sticker" and handed me a business card that read Bassman Magazine. He hopped back in his car, the light turned green, and we both went on our way. I don't know if he's a member of this board or not and had never heard of the mag before then, but whoever it was, I hope his magazine is a success. I never fish for bass so will not subscribe to it, but I liked his style and wish him luck

Funny isn't it, how the "tough guys" always have 6 or 8 guys backing them up.
-
Good to hear a musky finally decided to follow your game plan John, they certainly can be tempermental sometimes Good luck looking for Grandma on your next trip !!
-
Still call the police anyways Nomad, and let them know what's going on. The next guy they take a shot at may not be as lucky as you.
-
Absolutely call the coppers, maybe someone in the restaurant got a better look at them or even saw their car. If these punks find it funny to take pot shots at somebody with a pellet gun today, who knows what they'll get their kicks from tomorrow.

Best of luck Bernie, you've got the toughest part beat now and everyday will be easier than the last one, and before you know it you won't even be thinking about lighting up anymore. Everything about quitting is good and everything about not quitting is bad. I was addicted to those filthy things for 30 years myself but got free of them 17 years ago and it was probably the smartest move I ever made in my life. Your on your way now Bernie and don't look back ALL smokers say that Geoff....ALL smokers....and I told myself that for years too and so did all my smoking friends, but it's just the way we try to justify not being able to quit them, but once you manage to break free you'll understand.

I've been fishing about 55 years so I've seen alot of new stuff come & go, but I think GPS units have had a big impact and the way we fish, specially on new lakes where we aren't familiar with the structure. Kinda nice to be able to look at the screen and basically see the whole lake bottom while were cruising around and pick out the good looking areas, then just drive straight to the humps or drop-offs or whatever else were searching for. Also saves alot of props & lower units too $$$$$$$$

Terry's not spamming, he's recommending a guide he's had a good experience with. That's what we do here.......
