Moose, you have an amazing talent for telling stories, and when you combine that with your skills at fishing & photography, your posts are always a favorite of mine. I know their gonna be a long, enjoyable read so I always set them aside till early the next morning and enjoy them with my morning cuppa, and you never disappoint. Thanks for all your fantastic adventure tales over the years

Thanks for taking the time to write that Hammercarp, and it seems like more & more civilians are coming out to the hiways to show their respect every time this happens. I was listening to the radio last night and they were saying that it's even made the news in Europe about how Canadians are honouring our soldiers in this way. Several years ago there were 4 soldiers killed and one of them was from Toronto, and I attended the funeral service and couldn't believe how many civilians were there for the same reason. There were hundreds of people there and it was so nice to see so many strangers gathered together for the same purpose. It must mean an awful lot to the guys who are putting it all on the line for us, to know that so many of us back here are appreciative of what their doing and are willing to take some time out of their schedules to show them the respect that they most certainly deserve.

Sounds like you achieved just about everything you set out to do Mike, and that's an excellent thing to have happen........ congrats for that

I agree, I've got an older (6 years ) Sahara that I use for springtime pickeral and it's excellent. -

That's too bad Stan but perhaps you can make it next year. A few of the guys & girls have had to back out for various reasons but it looks like there'll still be about 12 of us left for the trip.

I'm not a hunter Bill, but my son worked in the Fort St. John area a few years back erecting communication towers, and he said it was a gorgeous part of Canada and I think your pictures prove that. Thanks for the story.

There's not a whole lot on TV that I like anymore, but Survivorman is an excellent show and one that I never miss. Watched the episode yesterday where he was stranded up in Alaska while doing a kayak trip. I've been wanting to see him do an arctic show in the dead of winter but haven't seen anything like that yet but I think it would be really interesting.

I guess these wild winds today won't be helping the water clarity either Jack, but hopefully they'll die down some as the week goes on. Wayne, we've got less than an inch of snow on the ground here in the Smoke, but that'll do me just fine for the remainder of the winter

My cousin Leonard got feminsied about 40 years ago and he's now known as Leonora, 'cept I don't think it had anything to do with chemicals

Bird feeders are an excellent hobby Dave and I've had them in the yard for years, and like the others have said, just start putting the feed out and they'll find it eventually. I shovel out the snow on the ground around the feeder and put food there as well as up high on the feeder as alot of birds prefer to eat off the ground. We get cardinals and lots of blue jays plus all the small birds like chickadees & sparrows and I also have many many mourning doves that live here all winter long and I've counted as many as 47 doves in the yard at one time. Course I also get pigeons that show up, but one day last winter I looked out the window and there was a red tailed hawk in the yard finishing one of them off for his lunch. All that was left of the pigeon was the 2 wings and a blood splatter. Best of luck with your new hobby.

Sorry to hear the sad news huey, she sounded like quite the dog. A good dog is about the best friend a man can ask for, but it sounds like you made the best choice for her so she wouldn't be hurting anymore.

Thanks boyz, perhaps I'll check out that 4 legged item too. I saw that bag for $25 on the Tiger Direct site and they also sell it at Cabellas for about the same price and figured it was a good idea . I have a feeling if the thieves see the palstic discs or suction cups they'll take that as an open invitation to bust into the car, unfortunately, but these bags could be easily hidden outta sight somewhere. I don't have the GPS yet, but I had a long discussion about it with Santa and he (She) thinks there a great idea too so it may just be under the tree in a couple weeks

Good to hear you guys are gonna be joining us Jen, and we'll be having supper in one of the local restaurants in Fort Erie. We'll see you at the Frenchmens Creek ramp at 8:00 AM

Were doing a musky trip to the Upper Niagara on the 13th Jigger, why not drag the boat outta the garage & join us

I don't like the idea of a suction cup mount on the windshield for a GPS and was thinking of getting one of these mats that sit on the dash. Acording to the right-ups and reviews they seems like a good idea and evidentely stay in place without slipping. Figure I could just slide it under the seat to keep it out of sight when not in use. Anybody ever use one ??
