  1. You could also contact Mercury and they should give the proper info for your set-up. When I bought my Skeeter/Yamaha and wanted a stainless prop I called Yamaha and they came up with the perfect prop for my specific combo.
  2. Still without power here north of Peterboro and now Hydro is saying it'll probably be at least another 36 hours before they get us up & running again. Haven't heard what the problem is but it must be something major for it to be out this long and there's over 800 homes affected. Most of the homes on this road at least have generators running so things are pretty well normal for us and the crazy winds have finally subsided so folks can start getting the damage cleaned up.
  3. It's been blowing like crazy up this way since about 10:00 too Bruce. Trees & power lines are down everywhere and anything that's not fastened down securely is gone. There's even a large portable garage laying crumpled on my neighbors property that doesn't belong to him. I live on a dirt road that runs thru the woods and when I went into town this morning I had to stop and move 2 large trees that came down and blocked the road just so I could get out. We've been without power since 10:00 AM and we just talked to Hydro and their hoping to have it restored before midnight. I'm wired for a generator though and all the important stuff in the house is working fine so all is good here. Hope everyone stays safe until the big blow is over.
  4. Good to see you back John, it's been awhile.
  5. I use 80# PP for casting with 130# fluoro for leaders. For prop style baits I use 15" - 18" and for walk the dog, jerk or twitch baits I use 8"-9"
  6. Congrats Boss, looks like you guys had a fantastic night out there. Brings back great memories from years ago when myself, dad, brother and friends used to head to Lake Ontario and come home with a couple pails of smelt. We'd all head back to Dad's place for a huge late night/early morning feed of those tasty little treats !! Thanks for the fond memories
  7. My little buddy will be 15 in October and I've always done everything I could to give him the best life possible. Last month he needed some dental work, plus treatment for a bad cough. The bill came in at $1400 and I never even blinked when it came time to write the cheque and I'd have gladly payed twice that much to be sure he's healthy, happy and pain free. The absolute love and loyalty a dog gives throughout his life is worth much more than a few $$$$
  8. I agree, I always use the manufacturers recommended oil on all my new vehicles, outboards, lawn equipment or whatever while it's under warranty, infact I often continue with it after warranty too. Just my opinion though.
  9. Congrats on a great finish Bob, some good numbers there !!
  10. All the best Brian, have a goodun !!
  11. Shocking and very sad news indeed. We've definetely lost a very popular member of our group and I for one will always remember his very entertaining stories.
  12. Happy B-Day Brian & all the best to ya !! Enjoy the new camera.
  13. I filled up near Peterboro an hour ago for $1.21 which is the going rate around here for today, with the exception of Petro Canada who was at $1.29 but 10 minutes after I went by he dropped down to $1.21
  14. Absolutely Chris, ya hafta keep those big girls legal for the BBQ
  15. Your allowed to fish for them, you just can't keep one.
  16. You won't be laffing so much when the wheels fall off that clunker Pete
  17. My 2010 is safe too Rich but I'm also affected like you on the door issue. I had a letter from Ford saying the parts should start becoming available in May.
  18. I had a chance to drive a 6 cylinder a couple years back and was really amazed at how much power it really had. My brother owned one of the original '65s back in the day and I used to drive it as much as he did. Not much power from the little 289 but with the rag top down and 3 on the floor it was alot of fun. Sure would like to have it today !!
  19. And be absolutely certain that the lug wrench for your truck will also fit the lugs on your trailer.....cause they often don't.
  20. I've voted in every municipal, provincial & federal election for more than 40 years but the last time I voted, was definetely the LAST time I'll ever vote again. It's just getting too tough to pick the best of the worst anymore and I've got far more important things to occupy my mind.
  21. Sad news Dan and deepest condolances to your whole family. My dad also died on my son's birthday.

  23. When I bought the new Skeeter 2 years ago it came on an excellent custom trailer manufactured by EZ Loader. It's got a swing away tongue, torsion axle, surge brakes, LED lights and the upgraded aluminum wheels. Only problem is, it's a single axle and with my heavy glass boat I just never really felt comfortable with it. The boat certainly falls within the load range of the trailer but I just wasn't happy with it. Today, I ordered a new traler with tandem axles and I'm now gonna feel much more comfortable on the long hiway trips I take several times a year hauling the boat. Again it's gonna be custom built to fit my hull exactly and has the same features as the single axle, with swing away tongue, surge disc brakes and upgraded wheels, but it's also gonna be painted to match the boat including pin striping. I'll get it in about 4 weeks and should enjoy the long trips much better now knowing I've got nearly twice the carrying capacity under the boat, plus if a tire blows it'll be much more stabil until I get it stopped. Here's the current single axle.
